Waiting for my car at the shop. This was good reading to help me ignore the made for TV movie playing in the waiting room. This was just as enjoyable as the first volume. I‘m intrigued by the Will and Lying Cat, and I hope there‘s more backstory there in later volumes. I‘m glad that I decided to reread this series- it‘s more relatable to me now than it was when I was in college.

TieDyeDude I've been reading the new issues on hoopla as they are released, but their schedule is a little sporadic. The graphic novels are the way to go. How far did you get on your first read-through? 13mo
psalva @TieDyeDude I think the first time through I only got through Volume 3. I‘m not sure what it‘s up to, but I think my library has all, if not most of the volumes so I should be able to catch up to where it‘s at. I actually didn‘t realize it was still running so that‘s good to know :) 13mo
TieDyeDude They've had a full story and set number of issues planned since the beginning. The first half of the story took about 6 years. They ended Volume 9 (Issue 54) with a very emotional cliffhanger, then took a multi-year break. It started up again last year, and they are taking intermittent breaks as they work towards the ending, but there is still lots of story to go 😁 13mo
psalva @TieDyeDude Thank you for the insight! It‘s interesting to hear how long it‘s been going. Have you been following since it started? 13mo
TieDyeDude I started a little late. I read the first eight volumes in one weekend, just enough time to wait for volume nine, then wait four years for the next story! 😅 I read about their plan when I realized that volume ten hadn't come out after about a year of waiting. 13mo

That was a good continuation, but, honestly? yeah, I could have done without the giant's massive warty ballsack and huge micro-penis (it did make me snort-laugh, though: "Mother, please! ... I told you not to look at it"). Otherwise, just as brutal, rude and funny as the first volume.

Can I remember what happened in Saga #1? ? Hopefully there will be a handy recap!
A graphic memoir of the author's "birthright tour" of Israel which resulted in her questioning of received ideas.
Maigret's on rest leave, but inevitably gets drawn into the goings on of the spa town's well-heeled inhabitants.
Not exactly book-related but the library's in the Art Centre, and seeing this flyer I booked us tickets for Suzi Ruffell's show.

Truly great series need beloved secondary characters, and Saga quickly builds out its ensemble cast. Because the story ranges across the galaxy, Staples can draw all kinds of wild and grotesque things, as well as experiment with different aesthetics. Thematically, Vaughan put a lot of his experiences of fatherhood into the story.

This has the same drive as the first volume and was an exceptionally good continuation for the series, but what it did lack was something at the end to propel it to the next level. It just tapered off with no cliffhanger or anything.

It's still a very enjoyable read, though, and the writing and characters are awesome.

I'm excited to see where it's all leading.

This series is growing on me. A fun read with great images & way too much creativity. The amount of imagination going on to create this plot is ridiculous. The pacing is a little slow & the story can feel drawn out, but there are a lot of pieces at play. The tangents & backstories are all entertaining, so it doesn't feel like wasted space. It's weird, but it's a good time. Some gratuitous adult content.

RamsFan1963 Wait and see, by the end you will be in love with Saga. 4y

ElizaMarie @KaylaD I hear you!!! Its been so annoying. One day its cold but sunny-ish, the next day wet and cold and then snow ... and wind! Ugh!!! 5y
ElizaMarie @mdm139 I am from South Texas, so we usually have our AC on all year. But I would much rather prefer that than this! Ugh! I am warm though, under a nice heated blanket :)
5y
ElizaMarie @wanderinglynn Thanks. I think its letting up so tomorrow (when I have to drive to work) it should be manageable. It isn't supposed to snow overnight but.... it doesn't really follow the weather reports here very often... They always seem a bit off!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This volume is probably my favorite because you get to see more backstory on events, parts of the war, and how Alana and Marko came to love each other. Also how hazel was conceived. Meeting Markos's parents in the novel added somewhat of a twist and gave more of an eye-opener to how the hate from both sides runs so deep. Markos's dad melts my heart because he was so accepting and just wanted to meet his granddaughter.

3.5/5

They are not that great but at the same time they are funny and entertaining. I like following Marko and Alana adventures.

For those of you, you doesn't know what the story is about. It's about two creatures, from different planet, falling in love and they have a baby. They're on the run. Both of they're planets hates each other.

Day 23: #pink #colormepretty
If you have been following me for awhile you will know I absolutely adore and love Saga, so naturally I had to go with this. A plus for being a pink cover is that this is actually my favorite cover out of them all (I love Marko dearly) I‘m dying waiting for it to come off of hiatus, but I am also patient as I don‘t want it rushed and ruined. Check it out, it‘s not for everyone but I love it.

BooknerdsLife What a pretty photo 😍💖 I‘ve seen this everywhere but haven‘t had a chance to read it yet 🧐 5y
Sweetkokoro @BooknerdsLife thank you🥰 it‘s worth checking out if your into GN. I will say Some complain about the nudity but I didn‘t mind it, since the story itself is actually really good. And Marko is best man ever! 5y

Gosh, this really is very good, isn't it? I am utterly entranced! As my first experience of comic books/graphic novels I really don't think I could've had a finer introduction.

Also, in another first for me, I have been reading it on my phone rather than my Kindle. I had read half of Vol. 1 before it occurred to me that the illustrations might be in colour! Mind blown! The artwork really is fantastic.

And I low-key fancy Marko....

Last night I officially stopped being chickenshit and began my SAGA reread/catch-up. (I always procrastinate because I know it's gonna hurt.) This is my seventh time through the early volumes and I love them every bit as much as always.

I planned to photograph my beloved Funko Pops with each book, but winter light + backlight + Tiny Marko was kind of a disaster. Poop.
