This was hard to read at times. Learning so much about her life and behind the scenes was fascinating but sad. Multiple times throughout the story I wish I could give her a hug. I do highly recommend the audio. this book deals with with some heavy topics. I‘ll admit the title caught me off guard but after reading it is well deserved in my opinion. Jennette deserved better. She deserved a childhood to grow and learn who she was. Check TWs

Duma Key: A Novel | Stephen King

This week has been a dousey. Spent a night in the Ed with my brother then to find out he might have cancer to the next day saying it‘s not it might be a severe infection. So here‘s to hoping this next week is better. What‘s an author you collect? I collect Stephen king. I‘m slowly making my way through his books. So far the stand and cell are my favorites.

Nikki_E The Stand is one of my top reads of any author. I collect copies of Anne ofGreen Gables. 2y
AuntCourtney @Nikki_E I‘ve some beautiful editions of Anne of green gables 😍 2y
KathyWheeler The Stand, of course, is one of my favorites but I also loved 11/22/63, Salem‘s Lot, Duma Key, and Doctor Sleep. The Institute was also really good. 2y

KathyWheeler When I‘m in a slump, I read things that are mostly light and easy to read and have short chapters. Robert Parker‘s Spenser novels were good for getting me out of reading slumps. 2y
AuntCourtney @mdm139 I don‘t think I‘ve ever heard of a cozy mystery. I will look into them. Thank you 😊 2y

This was fascinating to me.Demon possession and somehow he is a weapon against them.

You meet Kyle who all is life someone around him ends up possessed and trying to hurt him.First his mother then his wife. Now he teams up with the local reverend after a young boy is possessed the same way.The boy ends up saying things and Kyle wants answers.

Overall 4/5 for me.I love a good mystery especially in the angel demon category. It‘s just a good time.

A salt and pepper silver Fox. A fun way to use Christmas lights 😏. This book was everything I needed to get me out of a slump.

Gah all the feels and smut in one book. I was living for this story. I listened to it in 3 sittings on audible and the narrators did fantastic at bringing the characters to life. I loved watching Tyler and Poppy‘s relationship play out. The ups and down and them learning to deal with the emotions and actually communicate it to each other. The smut scenes was fabulous 😏. There‘s a lot of smutty scenes and I was living for it.

I don‘t know what I expected going into this but it wasn‘t this. The plot had me interested as power and internet have gone out. Your living in the world without them. How would you cope? What would you do? It intrigued me when I first read the synopsis, but the story was just meh for me and kinda all over the board. You follow a group of people in the apartment and what there doing after everything goes off. That‘s it.Just wasn‘t for me

I absolutely loved two aspects of this book. One that this book is about never giving up hope. That there is always something worth fighting and taking that next step for. Two, there is so much character development throughout this book.

One thing I want to note is the comparison between this novel and The Stand by Stephen King. I don‘t really see them being the same except for in the aspect of good verses evil.

Full review of GoodReads

KathyWheeler I‘ve had this book for years but haven‘t read it. I did wonder if there was any similarities between it and The Stand. 3y
AuntCourtney @KathyWheeler it is but it isn‘t. The only similarity it really has for me was the good vs evil aspect. As far as plot it‘s two very different scenarios. Plague and religion compared to nuclear war and magic 3y
KathyWheeler @Curlybookowl I might pull out my copy and finally read it. 3y
AuntCourtney @KathyWheeler I hope you enjoy it. It was my number 1 read of 2021 3y

Wow this was good. Temperance takes a walk on the wild side going to a sex club and gets exactly that. Her brother warns her not to but temperance doesn‘t listen and meets mystery man.

Meghan didn‘t not disappoint in this romance/erotica. The writing and story is amazing and I was sucked in from the start. This book is a intense rollercoaster of hot sex, mystery and crime.

This book was so good. You will not be disappointed.

The writing paced a bit faster in this one more than the others. I loved how this one wrapped up and included more of their pasts. You learned more about Cray and got to understand where some of his issues come from. You also got to see Holly grow as a character and do her best to get past her self-doubt. They went from both doubting and not trusting, to becoming comfortable with each other and actually falling in love.

BethM I‘ve not read this series but I love her as an author! 3y

I enjoyed this one much better than the first one. The pacing was good and the writing was even better. I think this book gave more depth to the characters than the first book did. It does get a little more graphic with the sex scenes but was a great smutty read. Meghan March does not disappoint at all with these books.

This novel was just what I wanted it to be, a quick and dirty read. It was just that and more. It was a very sexy read, I did have a few issues with the book, but it was overall really good.I loved the characters and the story. It was a simple and easy read to get through. It is very dirty during most of the book, so if that‘s something you are uncomfortable reading about, I don‘t recommend this novel.

I honestly didn‘t enjoy this has much as I had hoped. The writing and overall story were just lacking for me. First the story is told backwards to you up until you get back to present day. This just made the book super confusing at times for me and I didn‘t think it added anything special to the book. I would have rather had things told in order to make sense.

What‘s your favorite genre? Mine is apocalypse/post apocalyptic. I love a good doomsday book. I‘m fascinated the challenges and obstacles people have to over come along with how the world fell apart.

RaeLovesToRead I like mystery followed by fantasy. Have read lots of post-apocalyptic fiction though... I liked Station Eleven and I loved The Day of the Triffids. I do admit the first half of the novel is okay. I found myself wanting to put the book down at times, but the second half picked up and quickly took off. I was so interested in some of the characters and what happened to aurora that I couldn‘t put the book down. The Second half has a bunch of info dumping but it spaces it out to where it‘s not so much at one time.

I loved the scenes between Sylvie and her mother the most. Her mother shut her and the rest of the world out and became an alcoholic after her sister‘s murder and to see the issues and sadness confronted was really good and helped them to heal. They both thought they had each other figured out. I love the toxic mother-daughter relationship in a thriller/mystery. I think it adds a bit to the story for me personally.

There is also a bit of romance in this and what I loved most is that clary never hesitated to stand up to that person and call them out. Most of the time when there‘s romances, the female characters is shrunk a little bit. But clary never lost her fiestyness and herself. I liked that.

Overall I loved this book and the characters. I can‘t wait to continue on my reread and finish the rest of this series.

This novel turned out to be fantastic, easily a 4 star read. A virus has turned up and Henry and his team along with the world can not stop it. You seen him go to country after country trying find a way to form a vaccine all while finding a way home to his family in Atlanta.
The writing does go in depth medically about the history of viruses and diseases. But fairly easy to follow as some is explained throughout the book.
