Heard mixed things about this author but will give it a try
I truly disliked this book. I forced myself to finish it - I should have bailed. All of the characters sucked, but especially the main character. It‘s hard for me to finish a book when I dislike all the characters. I just didn‘t buy any of it - the relationships, the drama, any of it!
⭐️: 2/5
At first I wasn‘t sure if I could handle the days going backwards but I‘ll be darned if it wasn‘t so delicately put together. The ending is *chefs kiss*!
Book 21
I listened to All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda. Nicolette returns home after ten years to prepare her childhood home for market. While there, a girl goes missing, just as had happened when she last lived there. It wasn't the story I had expected, and the characters weren't likable. However it was very fast, engaging listen. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was hoping this title would have been better, and I did unhaul it. However, it was still a solid read. Prompt “missing” #ScarathonDailyPrompt #TeamSlaughter @Clwojick
Had a hard time getting into this one at first, but couldn‘t stop the closer I got towards the middle-end.
Thank you so much for my package for winning the #LitsyLove logo contest! 💕 I don't have this book and the book sleeve is gorgeous!
“If there‘s a feeling to home, it‘s this. A place where there are no secrets, where nothing stays buried: not the past and not yourself. Where you can be all the versions of you, see if all reflected back as you walk the same stairs, the same halls, the same rooms.”

Absolutely loved this book. The way the author created the storyline was 💯!! It had me guessing every chapter and I was wrong every single time.
OK, well, I very much enjoyed the first hour of this, but after that point the story is told backwards (chapter 1 is day 15, chapter 2 is day 14, etc). Interesting concept but not for me. Something about following a story backwards was too disorienting, even though I like stories with multiple timelines 🤷🏽♀️
This was an OK book. The ending didn‘t really make sense to me… how do you not know if you hit someone with a car or not?? Not very believable. But not a horrible read.
Pay attention! This one is written in reverse chronological order! It was very good! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Up next for my virtual book club! It's been sitting on my TBR for over a year. Long overdue!
I‘m late posting this because we were out of town for the holidays and when we came home Sunday there were a bajillion packages waiting for us 🥴🥴 and pregnancy brain is in full swing because I completely forgot to even look at who sent me my #jolabokaflod gift before I threw away the packaging 😩😩😩 I‘m so so sorry but THANK YOU THANK YOU for my gifts. @MaleficentBookDragon are you able to tag who had me if it‘s not too much trouble?
3✨ What the heck?! I could not put this down because I needed to know what happened. This was set with a reverse timeline with a ten year time jump as well throughout. Along with 2 missing girls. When I got to the end I was trying to process what happened still. It was clearly spelled out by that time, but wow.
This one was unfortunately a miss for me. I wasn‘t crazy about the backward timeline or any of the characters to be honest. The story sounded promising, but just didn‘t deliver. I‘ll get this one in the mail this week!

4 💫💫💫💫 Unique writing style. I enjoyed this suspense mystery. Kept me guessing all the way to the end. The main character Nic heads back home to sell the family house, all the while she's digging up dirt on a missing girl her high school best friend, but the first day she's back another girl goes missing. #GROUPF #LMPBC #ROUND12 @magyklyXdelish @Reynosa8701 Will be mailing your way tomorrow. @Alfrazier21

I actually liked the backwards telling and I really enjoyed the plot and the mystery. I didn‘t like really any of the characters though and didn‘t buy the animosity between the siblings.
#LMPBC
This story is told largely in reverse, which could be a cool plotting device, but here is just a gimmick to cover the fact that there‘s really no mystery at all. Just not good.
I‘ll be sending this out tomorrow but I haven‘t received any addresses for #groupF #lmpbc12 @suvata @magyklyXdelish @Alfrazier21 @sharread
I honestly didn‘t enjoy this has much as I had hoped. The writing and overall story were just lacking for me. First the story is told backwards to you up until you get back to present day. This just made the book super confusing at times for me and I didn‘t think it added anything special to the book. I would have rather had things told in order to make sense.
Stuck on #islamujeresmexico with thunder, rain, and no electricity! Great thing I brought my book!
Another great read by Megan Miranda 💙 Very interesting take, telling the story in reverse. She definitely kept me guessing right up to the end.
This book started out good but it was too confusing when I started to get into it. The weird, backwards..alternate timeline threw me off and I kept going, “wait didn‘t that already happen?”as it was told backwards until closer to the end then it goes forward in normal fashion. The ending was really lackluster too, but I didn‘t hate it.
Man, 2020 kicked my reading game‘s butt—and not in a good way! Excited to finish this one because I‘m enjoying it so much!
It took me a while to get into this one. The character development was done through secrets revealed, which was subtle & slow. At first they all seemed flat or cliche, but by halfway through they had become very real to me and . Most of the story was told backwards in time, which was an odd way to build tension, but it worked. #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks
I don‘t usually read murder/mystery books, however I was pleasantly surprised. The chronology is what makes the book appealing, and the tid bits of info are tantalizing.
Listening to the audiobook right now and I'm really loving the narrator. The book is great too! It's amazing how the narration changes your reading experience....because I've listened to some not so great audiobooks, thought I hated the book, but turns out I didn't. #audiobooks #mystery #readKY #backtowork #commuteread
This quote perfectly describes the story structure of All the Missing Girls. I really enjoyed the reverse chronology (even though I had to flip back and forth on occasion!), and I didn't find the ending too predictable. A good read for my December #bookspin!

Between a so-so and pan for me. I usually like creatively mixed up timelines but the backward story-telling didn‘t work for me and felt gimmicky.
Skipping my nonfiction and classic reads tonight for an escapist thriller. Feeling exhausted from all the crazy U.S. election news.
Not my first Miranda book and won't be my last! Excellent story that kept me guessing right up to the end. And I loved the quirky way in which the author assembled all the pieces of this story together. So cool!
Highly recommend :)
Both of these books were full of plot surprises and twists. I love a good mystery, sprinkled with suspense. They were both written in unique ways that kept me pretty intrigued the entire time. Slow starters though so don't give up, they'll pick up speed soon!

Not a fan of this backwards story. The structure doesn‘t seem to serve a purpose and is more confusing than anything.
