I have a little watermelon growing 😍 also sorry for no bookish content. Slumps suck. Any recommendations?

julesG Short stories? 10 minutes reading sprints? 3y
Rachel.Rencher How about Lion - Saroo Brierley? It pulled me out of a pretty deep slump a few weeks ago. 3y
AuntCourtney @Rachel.Rencher I will have to look that one up on Goodreads. Thank you 😊 3y

AuntCourtney @julesG short stories might be a good idea. Thank you 😊 3y
TEArificbooks When I am in a slump I try to read a genre so don‘t normal read or a nonfiction or a genre that is predictable like cozy mysteries/harlequin 3y
KathyWheeler When I‘m in a slump, I read things that are mostly light and easy to read and have short chapters. Robert Parker‘s Spenser novels were good for getting me out of reading slumps. 3y
AuntCourtney @mdm139 I don‘t think I‘ve ever heard of a cozy mystery. I will look into them. Thank you 😊 3y
AuntCourtney @KathyWheeler yes, another person recommended short stories. I‘m think I‘m gonna look for some under 100 pages and see what I can find. Thank you 😊 3y

Do any of you garden? I absolutely love seeing what I can grow 😁

Bookwormjillk I do but we‘re only getting herbs and lettuce so far. Can‘t wait for tomatoes! 3y
AuntCourtney @Bookwormjillk yes, I love tomatoes 🍅. I‘ve never grown lettuce though. 3y
LiseWorks Wow, your garden is just like mine for zucchini 2y
willaful We have a ton of zucchini, a reasonable number of cucumbers, and are just starting to get baby green beans! Not much luck with peppers this year. Tomatoes are just starting to ripen. And lots of marigolds and zinnias. 2y

I liked the pictures and some of the information, but it felt like it was more about the author's garden, not about gardening. As someone who lives in zone 4, fearless gardening doesn't work all year round. I also can't grow agave plants like the author loves. Oh well!

Pickpick

This book mostly focused on the Pacific Northwest, but I did appreciate the reminder to break rules in the garden.
