#LibraryHaul picked up some graphic novels I had on hold and used my horror movie bag today. I love this bag, and got it from a local at our towns farmers market a few years ago. She had this screen printed on a shirt and I asked if she could make it on a canvas bag. (She had other designs on bags) So I placed a special order and now it's one of my favorite bags.

The 2024 CWA Dagger awards shortlists come out late this week, I think. Considering how many Dagger awards categories there are and the likelihood that 50% aren‘t available in the US yet, the odds of me reading them before the awards are announced in July are slim. So, I opted to try to read all of the 2023 winners I could get my hands on. Today‘s #libraryhaul are the ones my library system has, plus the 1st in Bishop‘s series. Better get reading!

tpixie Great strategy ❤️📚❤️ 3d
rwmg I've got City of Vengeance on my treebook TBR shelf, so I look forward to seeing what you think about it

The Late Monsieur Gallet | Georges Simenon
post image

Inspired by Scott's @vivastory post last week about Maigret, I'm continuing my own journey through Simenon's extensive novel series about the gruff but empathic French Chief Inspector.
These three #LibraryHaul are all coincidentally early in the series, 3, 4 and 6 from left to right. Simenon's dating of the tagged story within the narrative is a giveaway, as the later novels contain only vague hints to date, which gives them a fuzzy, ⬇️

Bookwomble ... timeless quality, definitely past, but holding onto the modern.
I'm looking forward to re-engaging with Maigret's world 🙂

The_Book_Ninja Snog, marry, avoid? Sherlock Holmes, David Bowie, Maigret 2w

Bookwomble @The_Book_Ninja ? David (exciting); ???‍♂️Maigret (dependable); ? Holmes (fascinating: I've swapped out "avoid" to "converse" ?) 2w
The_Book_Ninja @Bookwomble I thought Bowie had “husband” written all over him…consider me shocked☺️ 2w
Bookwomble @The_Book_Ninja Well, you know, the four of us could set up a polyamorous household, though I'm not sure what I bring to the table! 😄 2w
vivastory I picked up another Simenon at the library last week. Looking forward to it! 2w
Bookwomble @vivastory Cool! I'll be interested to see what you think 😊 2w

Today's modest #libraryhaul , at book group.
"The Doll Factory" is next month's book.
"Day" was waiting for me on the holds shelf.

Wholly illogical, I know, but the fact that both covers are my favourite colour seems to bode well! ?

squirrelbrain I‘ve just finished the first part of Day - enjoying it so far. 1mo

CatLass007 The Underground Library is a fictional story and The Little Wartime Library is a fictional story. And they are about the exact same nonfictional events. Wow. Now I want to read the book you‘re reading. (edited) 1mo

#LibraryHaul from today—because obviously I don‘t have enough books at home already. 😆

Everyone in My Family… is my IRL book club‘s pick for April. I have Firekeeper‘s Daughter borrowed digitally, but it‘s about to expire and there are people in line, so I can‘t renew it. I have no excuse for the other two. My rationalization: it‘s gloomy today, it‘s supposed to rain tomorrow, I have no plans—maybe I‘ll have a spontaneous personal readathon? 😁
