I'm sure there's tons, but these are the first to spring to mind:
Just Like Heaven - The Cure
I Wanna Dance with Somebody - Whitney Houston
Modern Love/Let's Dance - David Bowie (I can't choose between them!)

“This book is a love letter to Bowie…” and I loved every second of it. Some nice insight into his songs and his impact on the world. I used to read a lot of books about music and this reminded me why I like that genre. I‘m absolutely going to check out Sheffield‘s other books next.
I thought I would love this book, but I didn't like it as much as I had anticipated I would. I'm a fan of David Bowie's music, but I felt like maybe this book gave me too much information about him? I don't know- it just wasn't my favorite of Rob Sheffield's books. I'm glad I read it, though.
We all experience music in a vacuum. Individually. We take pieces from our parents. Pieces from our siblings. From friends. The culture that surrounds us. And so it is with Bowie. To see how someone else experiences Bowie is to reignite my own fandom. Being a Bowie fan is to be part of a vast, diverse club. It is very much a lonely club, like Bowie‘s music always about breaking out of our isolation and experiencing something together. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love Bowie, but every time I read a book or an article or talk to another Bowie fanatic, I learn about another jewel of a tune that I immediately must find and add to my Mixtape :: David Jones playlist.
I knew Robbie would break me out of my book slump. I call him Robbie because we go WAY back — all the way to “Love Is a Mix Tape.”
A heartfelt tribute to a true artist, visionary, space alien/star gazer....Short but impactful. My only quibble; the author tended to get snarky about other artists ( namely Elton John) and it seemed unnecessary and petty. A nice listen while I did some pre weekend cooking🎧 🧑🍳 🍗🥘🍪
Woke up this morning thinking of David Bowie...so let‘s try this audiobook ♥️Hope everyone celebrating today is enjoying and finding peace, joy and light🙏🏼

I just can‘t get enough Bowie!
One of the better books on Bowie focusing on his impact and the lasting effect he had on his fans. Happy Birthday! Today would have been #71 on Planet Earth. #BowieForever
Bowie book club, anyone? https://pitchfork.com/news/david-bowie-book-club-launched-by-bowies-son/
This is due to arrive tomorrow, and I have a feeling I'll be reading it #covertocover. #FallIntoBooks
I'm a day late, but here's a picture of an older David Bowie reading. 😍

My grandfather hasn't slowed down in his #GoldenYears The man is 91 and still gets up and goes in to work 5 days a week and a half day on Saturdays selling cars at the local lot.
Here he is last Christmas perusing one of my gifts, some thematically appropriate reading material. #SeptemBowie

In no particular order....and I've seen them all in concert. Coincidence?!? 😉 Yep, this is pretty much my style with a splash of Rolling Stones, NIN, and Lady Gaga.
1. ⚡️David Bowie ⚡️
2. Duran Duran 💗
3. Muse 📡
4. U2 ☘️
5. Coldplay 🕉
I love Bowie and I always enjoy Sheffield's writing. He's a true fan of music and it's a pleasure to read his thoughts on the topic. This short volume on the man and his many incarnations is no exception.
I haven't even gotten out of bed yet, but I needed something to motivate me into the office after a 4-day weekend.
An #audioread on Overdrive will be a nice change after several on Hoopla. I miss files & chapters.
I'm using this for #rockinmay #magiccarpetride too - Aladdin Sane is a reach but there you have it!
I do not have children--this is probably obvious to those of you who listen to my podcast, #MyWeekInTinder, which is basically about how and why I could not be more single, let alone anywhere close to married (or just committed) with children.
But I do have a baby: my Taylor acoustic. Her name is Bianca (ten points if you can figure out why--hint: it's a literary thing), and she will be 12 years old in October.

A little Bowie for your afternoon. ❤📚
#PoetryWednesday in my classroom. This is for 5th graders. After discussion they write 8 line poems about their own rooms, getting as abstract as possible. And of course we listen to the song.
@MrBook just posted about a new memoir about David Bowie, which reminded me of this picture I took on Friday at an indie coffee shop in the East Village. My immediate reaction was, "I can't. This is like Sophie's Choice." ???????

🎶 Today would have been David Bowie's 70th Birthday. 🎶 Rob Sheffield's book is an awesome tribute as a Bowie fan, not as a music critic, to other fans. I read this over the summer and loved it - definitely a book worth revisiting. 👩🎤
This is my 91 year old grandfather perusing one of my Christmas gifts. May it bring you as much holiday cheer as it did me.
A little Bowie and some gingerbread rooibos. My newest addiction. Spicy, smells heavenly and caffeine free so I can drink it all night. Also pictured, my hand braces, as wrapping books all day long for everyone has made my carpal tunnel/arthritis flair. But- the end is in sight! Happy reading, Littens! #hotdrinkandabook #seasonsreadings2016
I don't like making long TBR plans because I'm such a mood reader. However, I definitely plan to read these due to being library books. I am especially excited about the Sheffield book as he is my favorite music writer and I read pretty much anything he puts out. His memoirs are fabulous and he has a very distinct voice.

okay, these don't have completely #orangecovers, but it's close enough, right? 😉. #photoadaynov2016 #libraryhaul @RealLifeReading
He kept inventing new worlds just for the pleasure of changing them. And in doing so, he changed our world as well.
I have taken much longer to read this book than I would normally take to read 192 pages, but I had to keep stopping to find and play the songs. I'm an unashamed Bowie fan (who only comes second to Kate Bush in my mind), and it was good to read a book written by another fan. The last dozen or so pages made me feel so sad, it was so well written. I'll have to listen to Blackstar again in the morning, I think. Perhaps a little Ziggy, too.
As I'm road tripping, I'll just have to use this photo to show that I've been using my Brixton pound as a bookmark lately. I collect bookmarks from wherever I go. I've been doing it since I'm 4. I have a bookmark drawer. I'm sure lots of you do, too!
Amazing book, written by a fan for fans and the intrigued. Rob Sheffield's career as a music critic and his passion as a fan of Bowie fuels this book. Lovely details and stories. Fantastic read with no fiction fluff. Recommended for anyone influenced by Bowie.
"The way he changed the world- changed how we heard it, how we saw it- was written all over the sky. The stars are never sleeping. Where are we now? As long as there's sun. As long as there's rain. As long as there's you. As long as there's me. Just for one day. ❤️❤️❤️
Up next. Can you tell this is my wheelhouse?
Attention: Due to this new release, all my other reading activities are suspended until further notice. #bowie #blackstar #bluebird
Sheffield discusses why Bowie was so important to the world, his influences on music and culture, and why we miss him. Because we sure do miss him. 💔
