I tend to keep most things emotional and rough close to the vest.
This last half of the year has been rough. In late June our dog Woody was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his leg. He had been limping and wasn‘t getting better. The vet told me with his age and arthritis he didn‘t recommend amputation or chemo.
We got 12 more weeks with him after diagnosis. Ultimately, we had to let him go. It‘s been a couple month and we miss him terribly.
She picked this out at the thrift shop. Should I tell her?
Just a boy and his first dog. Had to share this delightful photo. My babies are all growing up ❤️

This is the book that made me declare "No more books about dogs!!" I ugly cried through the last few chapters.? But Marley is one of the most mischievous pups ever and reminded me of a yellow lab I had once. But every dog is a good dog, even if they are mischievous ❤??
#DashingDecember update time!
I tearfully finished Marley & Me last night! Luckily Bombadil was there to offer emotional support.

I started Breakfast of Champions shortly after to perk myself up again. I spent the day binging The Ripper with my husband, so I‘m only on p. 39.
Goal: 1/3
How is everyone else doing with their goals?

This month my goal is to read 5 books to get to my goal of 50 for the year. Here‘s what I need to read to finish up some challenges while I‘m at it.
🦮 I need to finish the tagged book & Noir by Christopher Moore
🍩 Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut or The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness for the #monthlykeywordgxo challenge
💃🏻 The Gods of Tango by Carolina de Robertis for book club
And a Bingo in #BookSpinBingo w/ @TheAromaofBooks ?

This book is a memoir of the trials and tribulations, as well as the bliss, of owning a dog. I think I've said before that I'm not a big fan of memoirs or biographies, really nonfiction at all, but I love reading about animals, so I thought I'd give it a try. I thought it was enduring and heartfelt and humorous. Well worth a read. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Taming a Fantastic Beast (the biggest book on your magical TBR) -Poland by James A. Michener but this may change....
Don‘t Cry by Emarosa (a book that almost or did make you cry) -Marley & Me by John Grogan. I haven‘t read this one yet but I have heard things....I don‘t tend to cry over books....

As a rule I don‘t read books about dogs bc they inevitably make me cry and I don‘t need that in my life. This is the book that inspired that rule. #PuppyontheCover #MagnificentMarch
Well, I may be a full 15 years late at reading this one, but really, the love between a man and his dog is timeless. And so it seems are tears ;(
This was also book 11/20 read from my TBR stack for the Feb #BookSpin. Yeah me!

• Few chapters in and it's pretty good; Tear-jerker read for Feb 2020 #ReadWithMrBook #challenge. Won't finish by the end of the month but that's all part of the plan (wink wink -- there's no plan, folks) •

One of my favorites 🐶💖🐶
Genre: Biography, Autobiographical novel
Book title: Marley & Me
Author: John Grogan
started: sept 11 2019
finished:
why i chose the book: i chose this because there is nothing interesting to read for my age in my house and this is all i got right now. :T
EDIT: Uhhh... yeah, i bailed on this book cause i started zoning out while reading it-
🐶 🐺
I have never read the book until recently... I have yet to see the movie rendition of this novel. I repeatedly heard how sad Marley & Me is and I can tell you that the novel has its fair share of sadness throughout the book as it travels through a family‘s trials of life and the love that continues to grow for a dog that seems to never lose his optimism and puppy-like clumsiness.
If this didn‘t make you cry, I don‘t know what to say. I had to cuddle my cat after reading this. The movie brought on the waterworks too. So good. 😭

One of my favorite quotes!!🐶🐶🐶
So heartwarming and sweet!
Both the book and the film are lovely and i am so glad i finally read the book.
This book brought me smiles and tears but am overall happiness at the wonderful life and story of Marley!
Definitely recommend.
I recently had to say goodbye to my little buddy. He was only 7 and his illness took me by surprise. Charlie was the perfect reading buddy. We were partners in crime since my husband didn‘t allow him on the couch. We just waited until he left. I‘m finally able to not tear up when he crosses my mind. Gone but never forgotten. #dogsoflitsy #dogs #booknerd #bestfriends #bookaddict #bookaddiction
Thank you sooo much for this book and sweet card Kaila!! It‘s been on my list forever! I‘ll have to research book crossing! That sounds fun!

I knew the premise of this book but it was an enjoyable read. I laughed and I cried. It‘s amazing what our furbabies come to mean to us throughout their short lives.
This amazing story spent over a year on the NY Times Bestseller list! John Grogan writes about a family and their dog and all the love, hardships, and funny moments that they encounter. A must read for young adults! I would use this book in my classroom as a LC or IR. UDL principle 8.3 and ESOL strategy 3 would supplement this book well.
I‘m Bulgarian and on first of March we celebrate Baba Marta Day. We put martenitsas on out wrists or little dolls made from red and white yarn.
This year instead of sending to all of my friends the usual pictures took from Google, I made my own kind of red and white martenitsa.
I just wanted to share this tradition of ours with you, guys! Happy weekend! ❤️⚪️🔴

“Dogs are great. Bad dogs, if you can really call them that, are perhaps the greatest of them all.”
Another old picture from my sister. Matlock, while technically a bad dog, always did his best. I hope he knows we thought he was a good boy.
“It's just the most amazing thing to love a dog, isn't it? It makes our relationships with people seem as boring as a bowl of oatmeal.”
My sister sent me an old picture of our dog, Bear, this morning. He‘s wagging his tail, as always. I hope he‘s having a good time in Heaven!
@LaurenReads congrats on your milestone!! #hundredgrand
I don't read many nonfiction books but this is one I did and I absolutely love it. One of my favorite books and movies 😊
Nice change of pace. Saw the film many years ago and sobbed my eyes out
Not really book related, however, I lost my little Beagle baby Cooper yesterday. Having a hard time pulling out of this funk. Can‘t seem to concentrate long enough to even think about reading.
Congrats @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks on your milestone! 🎉🎆🎇👏🏻🎉🙌🏻

1. So many books fit this, but I laughed & cried when reading the tagged book. Such a moving story, especially for this of us with fur-babies. All the feels in this one. ❤️🐶
2. I love Litsy because no one here thinks I‘m weird for my book obsession. I can talk books & say bookish things & people get me. 👇🏻

Before you send me hate mail bec I reminded you of this heart-wrenching story you should know that I got this book a week before I saw the movie, cried my eyes out for half of the length of that friggin‘ film and I‘ve never even opened this book since then.
But I kept the book bec, idk, maybe I‘ll need a good cry someday. We‘ll never know.
