April Bookstagram Day 26
•
This is a #latepost bec yesterday was a v busy day and I passed out as soon as I hit the bed. LOL.
•
Me and my sister also watched an episode of the TV series last night, the one where Phoebe gets hexed with Gram‘s wedding ring (the one with Tyler the firestarter, too) and I was reminded of how feminist and progressive this series was. This is my favorite show forever and ever and ever!
April Bookstagram Day 24
These are echoes of my childhood. Back when I didn't have a gaming console and easy access to the internet (and omg, that PokéDex electronic toy was hella pricey!) I used to borrow Pokémon Guidebook like this from a friend. I eventually found a similar copy back in 2014 and I just HAD to have it.
This is my *very loose interpretation for #FearYourNovelApril : Magical Creatures. and #LILColorBlast : Yellow (bec Pikachu)?
I missed #WorldBookDay in my own time zone, but it's still Monday in some places right now so I'm still technically on time. 😂
Here are books I keep close to my heart! ❤
[Full Description on my Instagram! 🤗].
I posted my daily post already but it‘s a tough Monday and bookstagramming is cathartic to me - so here, have another. :)

Another BookSale serendipity find. :) It‘s the first Courtney Milan book I‘ve found in print and though I haven‘t read anything from her, I‘ve been in love with her insightful and feisty tweets since I followed her early last year. My avid romance reader friends also highly recommend her books so this should be fun. 🤗

April Bookstagram Day 22 (Part 2)
#SundayStack LOL
Happy #EarthDay!
What is your eco-friendly resolution this year?
Mine would have to be minimal use of plastic. I‘m v guilty of using single-use plastic bec of its convenience especially in this country where plastic is prevalent. But my convenience must not come before the welfare of the environment. The world‘s plastic problem is worse than we thought and I don‘t want to be part of it anymore.

I haven‘t gotten to The Scorpio Races but I‘ve heard great things about it.
A Fox Called Sorrow, on the other hand, is an old favorite. I‘ll admit that I got it bec the red, velvety cover was so pretty and I was pleasantly surprised that the writing and story, though meant for young children, was a refreshing read for my then college-aged self. 😆

These are books I‘ll feature more on tomorrow‘s challenges. Heehee. I put all these challenges on Google Sheets so I wouldn‘t miss out on the prompts but lo and behold, I forgot about this until yesterday! 😅

W. I. T. C. H. Comics
•
My W. I. T. C. H. post yesterday made me remember my collection of this awesome kids series and while I can‘t post all 74 issues in one post (how to fit ‘em in one square?? LOL) here‘s my entry for a couple of challenges today.
•
What series were you obsessed with when you were younger? I was also obsessed with Sailor Moon (i still am, lbh) so you know, that tells A LOT about young Bentch. 😂🤣😂

Blossom Among Flowers by Jay E. Tria
•
My previous posts were wood and flower-y so let‘s continue the combo with another flowery book! 😍🌷
•
This is actually @ruthame07 ‘s book, my gift for her right after I read Songs of Our Breakup. I have the Kindle copy for myself but I haven‘t read it yet. 😅 I hear this reminds people of J-doramas and the MC loves mangas so if you‘re a fan of those, you‘ll enjoy this! 💐🌺🌸🌼
April Bookstagram Day 18.
In Fair Verona and Valentine Promise by Edith Joaquin.
I‘ve fairly recently discovered my love for romance and realized I‘ve been missing out on wonderful HEA‘s my whole life. Just imagine how many wonderful things I‘m missing out when I‘m not reading Tagalog! I can‘t wait to start reading these!
•
Give me your amazing Tagalog romance recs!💕

This is one of the most reread novel in my collection.
IDK exactly why I kept rereading this particular book. It does have a rich plot (mega plot twist in the climax that didn‘t feel rushed, I‘m telling you!) and it has eight or nine “spells” inside, which is a couple more compared to most of the other books. My favorite is the Spell to Awaken an O‘Farrell Witch‘s Powers.

I am for #HouseStark (bec these kids have been through so much, huhu, and Arya is my kween, but I‘m also Team Dany and the latest season kind of merged my biases together so idk, im wrecked. Lol.

April Bookstagram Day 16
•
First off, know that I‘m a show-only fan (and these are borrowed books and maps) so don‘t @ me.
•
Second off, these were maps that used to be on our room‘s walls in SG and while I haven‘t read a word from the books, it helped make sense of some things from the show. I came in late to the fandom, S04 was already airing when I started but I still vividly remember the weekend I binged S01-S03. It was glorious!

April Bookstagram Day 15. (2 of 2)
I‘ll admit I‘ve only read this once bec the themes are quite heavy but it‘s one of those books that I‘ve liked so much, I don‘t need to read it lots of times to remember the plot, although opening to Chapter 15 for this post makes me want to read it again.
The background is from Prehistoric Animals in the Modern World by Marco Ferrari and Fulco Pratesi.
🦈 #aprilbookishmadness : Chapter 15
April Bookstagram Day 15. (1 of 2)
This is one of my Gay YA hoardings back in the early 2010‘s and I‘m very happy with how this book turned out.
I highly recommend it over the author‘s other books but #tw to abuse and PTSD.

#TheFelineBookReader:Gods & Goddesses. I loved this book‘s contemporary setting, the myth & the romance within it! Those who have read this will know all the references I‘ve *creatively included in this shot. 😉
•
#iamsweetapril:Charming Character and I am #TeamRobbie 5ever!! Everyone else can deftly turn tides or play with light theatrics but I‘m always biased towards those who can summon the magic of slow dances. 😍

•
#AprilBookishMadness: Heart breaking Death. I‘m still salty about Carrie‘s ultimate demise. She‘s the victim here! 😠
•
Which Carrie iteration is your favorite? Mine is the book, then Sissy Spacek‘s and then Angela Bettis‘. In that order. I can forgive the Chloe Grace Moretz one bec it‘s closer to the books compared to all the others, but Julianne Moore kind of ruined it for me. 💁🏻♂️

Before you send me hate mail bec I reminded you of this heart-wrenching story you should know that I got this book a week before I saw the movie, cried my eyes out for half of the length of that friggin‘ film and I‘ve never even opened this book since then.
But I kept the book bec, idk, maybe I‘ll need a good cry someday. We‘ll never know.

Show my girl, Layla, some ❤️!
We got a little sneak peek at her upcoming release yesterday and 😍 that cover is beautiful!
•
She‘s launching the print edition on #AprilFeelsDay2018 (this 28th!). The ebook is now available to pre-order at bit.ly/onedaycloserebook
*Also, it‘s #1 New Release on Amazon‘s Asian Poetry category for a while now so im just saying you‘ll be missing out if you don‘t get this right now. 😏
April Bookstagram Day 10.
•
This is a sort of Wizard of Oz x Alice in Wonderland retelling told through the main character, Kate‘s, magical journal entries. This is a Children‘s Fantasy that has amazing art inserts and would‘ve had a great plot if it were given time to flourish. •
It‘s #NationalSiblingsDay! I hope Kate gets to finally rescue Matt in an AU where this series isn‘t discontinued. 🙂
April Bookstagram Day 9. #BookBouquet
I haven‘t read this book yet (heehee) here‘s an excerpt from the blurb: “When the girl who likes to watch flowers bloom encounters the guy who‘s only in it while the fragrance lasts, curiosity gets the best of both of them.
In the midst of intermittent weather, will their connection blossom or wilt?” 🌸🌼💕

Finally, a book I‘ve read (and loved so much!) This is only my second Alice Hoffman book but this made her one of my favorites, hands-down.
This is a story of pain (and of love) that transcends years and hopes to move on. I don‘t want to spoil anything but there‘s a v prominent childbirth scene that is both beautiful and haunting, and that i have carried in my heart since the first time I read it.
I just wanna come on here real quick bec it‘s almost 5am and I haven‘t slept! 😁 This book is just 🤗😍😭 . I‘m still at 73% and I‘m reading it super slow so it wouldn‘t end yet. The next book will be out next year and IDK how to make it come here faster. (Maybe if I take A LOT of naps it will!) Anyway, get this and The Bone Witch, too!
The book I posted yesterday is on SALE 🚨 🚨🚨
It‘s summertime in the Philippines and this is a perfect alternative if you can‘t physically go. Heehee
This! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I dont want to say who says this bec it might be a major spoiler for some people but omg, this book is just so good!
Summer Crush by Tara Frejas, Jay E. Tria and Six De Los Reyes!

My previous posts lined-up magnificently and it‘s like the universe was preparing me to post this tonight. 😁😁😁
•
🏝 Beach
💕 Love
🎸 Rock and roll.
•
I don‘t think I‘ll be able to go to a beach getaway this summer (nor a music event whatsoever for that matter) so this‘ll be the closest I‘d have to those. 😁 The magic of reading.

I know I just posted my daily bookstagram but I can‘t help but post another one featuring this amazing book! I read it last year and it‘s one of those that resonated with me, what with all that anti-bullying message and KPop romance. 😘 It‘s got a new cover and I CANNOT WAIT to get my hands on it!

It‘s been a while since i did a #FriyayIntro but here i go again! :)

2. Pies! Bec it can be sweet or savory! (I mean, cakes can be savory too but 😬 )
3. Logan (a dog named after Wolverine in the 90‘s animated series)
4. Self-help books. I dont read horror, but self-help books just infuriate me. Lol
5. ❤️❤️❤️ Tagging @bookishmouie to do this since you‘re still v new to Litsy!

What‘s your Friday/weekend plans? My nephews are coming over the weekend to spend summer here and I am so excited!
#TBT to the oldest bookish photo I still have on this phone‘s memory. This was taken in Singapore roughly a year ago, at a time when I thought I was getting a Carrie #4 but 😭 there was no time to deliver bec I was flying back home in a week.
I miss a lot about last year but bah, no sense in dwelling in the past. 🤷🏻♂️
Also, last year I didn‘t have as much published work as I do now so that‘s great progress. :)
