This week, y'all. This. Week.
I haven't even picked up a book. And as much as I want to tonight, my brain is so fried, I know it won't be productive.
*sigh* I am so ready for a world without COVID.
Thanks for letting me rant.
1. Today‘s weather was like yesterday‘s weather and every day for months on end—HOT!! It only got up to 93 today (low for us in July) but the heat index was 106. I basically live in a sauna.
2. Cabin, or I wouldn‘t mind trying glamping. Sounds fun!
3. Oh, goodness! I guess Alex Stern from Ninth House. Everything else I‘ve read has been steeped in horror or tragically sad!
4. Sleep late and read, or get up early for a book sale.
#Friyayintro
1. Gray and rainy with thunderstorms at night.
2. The only "camping" I've ever done was when I was little and my parents would drive their custom van to car shows and we slept in that a few times. I remember one time the adults were doing marshmallows over the campfire and I acidentally stepped on one which earned a scary scold from my Dad!
3. None, actually.
4. Stay in bed and rest.
#friYAYintro @4thhouseontheleft @howjessreads
#FriYayIntro @4thhouseontheleft @howjessreads
1. Warm and humid. Drizzly but not enough to get the Sahara dust out of the air.
2. Yes, please. Preferably cabin or RV.
3. Brooklyn Wainwright. Sure she finds dead bodies everywhere she goes but she‘s cute, perky, and rich.
4. Make a good breakfast for whoever is here and lounge around.
1. It‘s an extraordinarily cool 83, but the humidity is 87%, so it feels like 93. We‘re also covered in the dust from the Sahara, and Covid is spiking in Houston!
2. Cabin, or one of those big luxury RVs wouldn‘t be bad. I‘d also like to try glamping—it sounds cool!
3. I guess Renee Ballard from The Late Show, or Kya from Where the Crawdads Sing.
4. My favorite thing on a Saturday morning is sleep late, then read.
#FriyayIntro
1 Overcast and cool (about 15°C)
2 Cabin. As long as I have wifi and cable and access to Netflix on the TV, I‘ll be fine. I find RV‘s cramped
3 Stephanie Plum
4 Sleep in, drink coffee and make brunch at home
#friyayintro
?Sunny, hot and 92° F. And I just learned how to make the degree mark on my phone. (Press and hold the number 0 and it pops up. Who knew.!? Well, google knew)
☕️Drink tea and read on my screened in porch. If it‘s cold, then read in bed all morning
⛺️RV all the way. Tent if it‘s cool outside.
?I didn‘t read enough this month to be any character!
#FriYayIntro
Happy Friday! #friyayintro
My answers coming shortly in a separate post.
I finally saw one of these just barely on time!
1) Hammock that we set up in our yard!
2) Passionfruit sorbet as dessert after dinner
3) Definitely My Dark Vanessa
4) Four! Three cats and a dog
1. Curled up on my couch in the air conditioning! (I live in Texas, the sauna state) 🥵
2. Just had dinner, so cheese enchiladas with rice and refried beans—Tex-Mex at its finest! 🌮
3. The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle! Loved it—very strange, which is right up my alley!
4. We have one dog, a Papillon named Oliver, who pretty much runs the house. 😄❤️
1. Stretched out in bed or on the sofa. Summer is generally too hot for me to be anywhere other than in air conditioning.
2. Homemade spaghetti.
3. I haven‘t actually finished a book yet but I‘ll let you know.
4. None. I‘m still hurting from the loss of my kitty a year and a half ago.
#friYAYintro @4thhouseontheleft @howjessreads
1. In my bed. Most of the year for that though. If it‘s not too hot, I like to read in my chair out in the patio.
2. I just ate date night supper. Homemade cheeseburger, roasted mushrooms, sautéed bell peppers, sausages, and chips.
3. He Started It
4. Two. A dog named Lucy and a cat named Biel.

If you've followed me for a while on Litsy, you know that I'm an activist at heart. And this week, I couldn't ignore current events for my #friYAYintro. Take that how you will, but I hope you'll participate!
My answers in the comments. #blacklivesmatter
1. I don‘t know. I‘m not allowed to go to the library (it‘s my own rule 😁). I have SO MANY books sitting in my study that have been on my tbr FOREVER that I cannot permit myself to go. I have no self-control!! 😫
2. I have Libby, Sora, Audible, LibraryThing, Serial Reader, Book Crawler, Hoopla, Bookly, Kindle, Nook, LibriVox, BookShout, Kobo, and Book Buddy.
3. Read and relax!
4. Big, fresh strawberries and those giant green grapes!
#FriyayIntro
1. They usually do prizes for reading, but I‘m not sure what they will do this summer yet.
2. No, just Litsy & GR
3. I‘m going to a friend‘s house for dinner tomorrow, but it‘s just going to be 4 of us. I get to meet their new dog.
4. Hobo meals & strawberry pie
#friyayintro @4thhouseontheleft @howjessreads
1. I live in a small town with no library. Nearby towns have libraries but I have to pay to join them. 😕
2. Nope. Litsy is my favorite place. I use LibraryThing to keep track of the books I own.
3. Not sure yet. Maybe BBQ
4. Summer tomatoes. The ones I can‘t get all winter long. 🍅🍅🍅
#FriyayIntro
Thanks for the tag @Cinfhen
1. This is the first summer I‘ve been a member of my library, and it‘s a private rather than public library (and of course they‘re still closed) so I‘m not sure if they do anything.
2. Just Libby.
3. It‘s a Bank Holiday Weekend here in the UK but no plans, stopping at home with my books...😁📚
4. 🍦 Ice-cream!
Anyone else care to play? Consider yourself tagged!
#friYAYintro @4thhouseontheleft @howjessreads Thanks for the tag, Alisia!
1. I don‘t see anything on their web site. 😰
2. Scribd, Audible, Hoopla, Chirp, Bookly, OverDrive, Libby
3. No plans ... still quarantined. Thinking about #audioorganizing to get all of my books into my GR lists.
3. Fresh sweet yellow corn and watermelon. Also peach pie and all the vegetables.
1. No idea. My work place has nothing planned, but we normally don‘t.
2. Bookly for keeping track of reading
3. Eating lots of sweets and take out food because it‘s my birthday weekend (yes, I‘m celebrating all weekend even though my actual birthday is Monday). In-laws might come down to help finish painting and maybe visiting my parents while social distancing.
4. Cantaloupe and anything on the grill.
#friyayintro
#FriyayIntro
1. Our library is still closed. We don't enter phase 2 until June 1st so I'm not sure what they will end up planning once we can finally go back.
2. Libby. I don't use anything other than Litsy, Goodreads and Libby.
3. Nope. Normally we travel to NM and attend a wine festival there but obviously that's been cancelled.
4. Watermelon and Pineapple 🤗
@4thhouseontheleft @howjessreads
1. I haven‘t heard anything yet. I do hope they have something.
2. Overdrive and Serial Reader
3. Lots of reading!!! Maybe watch a movie.

#Friyayintro
This week, I DID remember it was Friday when I woke up! 😂 Happy FriYAY!
☀️ No details yet, but our public library is doing a double challenge: Summer Break: At Home in June, and Summer Break: Reading Takes You Everywhere in July. Can't wait!
🍍 Libby and Overdrive! And the library app! Just downloaded Beanstack for the summer challenge, has anyone used it?
🏖 Lots of reading!
🍦Corn on the cob, peaches, ice cream

1. Shogun or The Far Pavilions—either completely immerses you in the culture of that country and time.
2. Speaking my mind! I‘m an old-fashioned Southern girl; disagreeing with people was always difficult for me. And then I hit 50! 😂
3. I like needlework and scrapbooking but have not had time for either in years.
4. Brick House by the Commodores!
#Friyayintro
#FriYayIntro @howjessreads @4thhouseontheleft

4. Hook by Blues Traveler has been stuck in my head for days.
#friYAYintro @4thhouseontheleft @howjessreads
1. The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova goes all over Europe plus Turkey. (Must like vampires.) And Less by Andrew Sean Greer has world travel, humor, becoming middle aged, and being a gay man themes.
2. The dentist. Barely tolerating is better than fear, right?
3. I‘m a baker but not a builder or craftsy person.
4. Some Norah Jones while reading.
Happy Friday! Here's your #Friyayintro!
📚 The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society really made me want to visit Guernsey, and The Simplicity of Cider by Amy Reichert spurned an interest in Door County, Wisconsin.
🐝 Bees. Well, kind of. I tolerate them better than I used to. Still allergic, though.
🔨 Not so much. IKEA furniture? 😂 Not a crafty person.
🎶 Heavy by Orla Gartland
Sorry I missed posting last week, things were really crazy.
Enjoy this week‘s #Friyayintro!

#friyayintro
1. 6 books, but hopefully more.

2. Sorry - original Waddington's version
3. Some sunshine, Häagen-Dazs ice cream & a cold IPA. That's 3. Sorry, I'm a rebel 😉
4. Told my daughter we were having a 4 foot long iguana with a biting problem called Demon delivered. Thought she'd be horrified. She wasn't 🤷🏼♀️

2. Aggravation!
3. Some quiet time to hopefully read.
4. No and no. I don‘t like pranks and don‘t think they‘re fun or funny.
#friYayintro @4thhouseontheleft @howjessreads
1/ no idea— I don‘t have a formal one. I just pick books that strike my fancy.
2/ Trivial Pursuit
3/ not turning my computer on.
4/ no and no. I am not a prankster and I don‘t think pranks are funny; most people know better than to try that with me.😄

2. Backgammon or Scrabble
3. Picking up some wine and cider from my fav local brewery 🤪
4. No and no - not feeling much silliness right now
1. I'm a mood reader, so I don't have an official pile. Though, it has gotten a little smaller with libraries closed, and only being able to borrow electronically.
2. Trivial pursuit and scrabble
3. Getting out back into the woods. It's been cold and rainy, so we've been indoors.
4. No. Never really pay attention to April fools.

1. 10 books, but I'm trying to get some freelance work which is taking up most of my spare time
2. Forbidden Island, Scattergories, Ticket to Ride, Sorry
3. Sunny days, and hopefully some reading time. Spring break is almost here, our goal is to play every game we have in the house at least once. It's not San Francisco & Yosemite like our original plans, but still fun!
4. Not this year, we're off our game
Is it Friday today?? (Day 14 quarantine, now on state-imposed lockdown)
