The first half of this book bored me to death- I had more time to read then but just couldn‘t get into it.. but the second half of the book is much more thrilling and edge of my seat waiting for what is going to happen next , only problem is I‘m so busy and only have time to read a page or two at a time 😫
Finally getting caught up on some reading after going awol for a bit and also dog sitting this lil precious
I thought I had already read this one but looking at my list it‘s not there but as I read the first few pages it seems familiar- oh well I will get into it anyways ; the next book in this series I have is on cds- yes when I ordered it I didn‘t realize it wasn‘t a book 🤦🏻♀️ so while I reorder it and wait for it to come in I will continue to read about Elizabeth- I don‘t like her very much..too much like her father
While I understand this is fiction, I‘m disappointed in PG‘s treatment of both Elizabeth and Amy Robsart. Amy was not an illiterate dolt as she is portrayed here. And Elizabeth is made out to be an easily pliable, over emotional ninny who mirrored the opinions of whomever was nearest. By all accounts she was demanding and spoiled, but she was also remarkably astute politically or she‘d never have held her crown.
Boooo, Philippa Gregory.
Thank you Ammy @OrangeMooseReads for these books from your giveaway! I really appreciate them. I'm glad I was finally able to get a photo up here. You're the best! I wasn't expecting you to send all 3, just thought it'd be one. So thanks so much!
I picked Historical Fiction. I found a video of Philippa Gregory walking around a Borders store. I don‘t know about her “favorite” but she absolutely GUSHED about Edith Wharton: “I had a Wharton Summer, where I just read Edith Wharton all summer. And at the end of it, I have to say, I was *tremendously* genteel! I felt my manners improving almost day by day. She‘s a great writer!” My favorite of Miss Gregory‘s is the tagged book. #AGameOfFavorites
Late post from my April Bookstagram Challenge. Heehee. The prompt was Historical Fiction. Full description on my Instagram! ❤️
⛄️It‘s a tie...between all of ‘em 😄 I tend to watch more of the skiing events and the figure skating/speed skating.
⛄️The tagged author is probably one that I feel appeals to most of my reading friends on different levels.
⛄️I‘m a Cinco de Mayo baby! 😊 💃🏼

I‘m in between three books right now, heehee, and bec my sister found this again, i‘m itching to go back to this and finish it before the year ends. 😅
*I‘m mostly compelled to do so bec this pretty cover is pretty. :)
My sister found this when she cleaned the house. I probably last opened this book in 2011/2012(?) 😂 and its been so long that the bookmark already left amoldy imprint on the pages. I need to start all over again now. #historicalfiction #QueenElizabeth
Apparently, this not-so-#Peaceful book is the fourteenth of the Plantagenet and Tudor novels 🇬🇧—which is convenient because it's #Time for bed and I can squeeze all these challenges into one post. 😊 #YESvember17 #NovemberByTheNumbers #EmojiNov #NoteworthyNovember
What's a queen without her king?
well, historically, better
Queen Elizabeth I
Another terrific entry in Gregory's Tudor series. She hits the level of detail perfectly, and gives the reader a clear idea of what it must be like to become queen at 25. Elizabeth I and Robert Dudley, as well as his wife Amy, are at the heart of a fascinating mystery.
Just realized I have a theme this week - women in power. This one and Big Girls Don't Cry about US politics and feminism.
Having a hearty, reading breakfast before heading to BAM! and a second hand book shop. I need a browse and a treat!
Finally getting to start this today after obsessively checking Overdrive to see how many holds were ahead of me!
