I rather enjoyed this dual narrative about Rae and Lila. Both women were interesting and I enjoyed the parallels and differences between them and seeing each of them find their path. #AuthorAMonth #BookspinBingo

I love Alice Hoffman and I wanted to like this book but it wasn‘t her best work. There were a few beautiful passages, and little bits of magic tucked in here and there. I love how Alice Hoffman can turn a phrase. But overall this was just blah and the ending wasn‘t very satisfying.
I'm not sure what I think about one aspect of the ending, but otherwise I enjoyed this. I love the way Alice Hoffman tells a story.
I developed a mini obsession with Alice Hoffman
ever since I purchased & listened to an Audible copy of Blackbird House. I found my self savoring the minutiae of the character‘s daily lives as their stories unfolded. Her writing is smooth and seamless; the conversation flowed like real life. Fortune‘s Daughter carries through with the same great story telling, including a wisp of magic woven throughout. I enjoyed it very much!

Finally, a book I‘ve read (and loved so much!) This is only my second Alice Hoffman book but this made her one of my favorites, hands-down.
This is a story of pain (and of love) that transcends years and hopes to move on. I don‘t want to spoil anything but there‘s a v prominent childbirth scene that is both beautiful and haunting, and that i have carried in my heart since the first time I read it.
I don‘t have a business. So the hub said it clearly means I should start writing book 2. So yahoo, on to Book 2. #amwriting
What a glum Friday outside. It's mid-August and the weather in my part of the world reminds me of October. Today's #BeastsGiveawayChallenge topic is #MagicalRealism seems to be very fitting, in this weather I like to escape to a magical, yet real, place.
I thought of a lot of books for this tag, but this was the only one I had at hand to take a picture of.
