I was a little worried with all the hype, but this was a definite winner for me. As someone who was put on their first diet as an 11 year old I could definitely relate to the skewed self-image, but also my little gay heart was just full of love for Abby and Jordi.

Plus it really made me interested in examining my own personal style.

Kinda book related — I highly recommend the Choose Your Own Adventure board game. It‘s great because you can play by yourself or with a group. It also reads like a book with different chapters, different outcomes, and yes, you can even die and come back. It takes a while to play so I‘m on day two (upper left) but it‘s like hopping back into a good book 📚

kaysworld1 Hello there I have a book that's on your stacked shelves I've read it and want to send it on but first what country are you in? 6y

You wouldn‘t think that a book about a woman who sleeps for a year would be that interesting, but Moshfegh is an amazing author who kept me on the edge of my seat. I know that her style and characters won‘t be to everyone‘s liking, but I love her dark sense of humor and no one is safe from her pen. My only disappointment is that there wasn‘t more Dr Tuttle! That kooky/awful lady had me laughing out loud! 😴💊😵

This is everything I would hope for in a late 90s teenage fight club queer love story 💘 In addition to the aforementioned album references of my youth, the characters talk about Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the main character, Chris, even has my quirk of miming eating different types of food to decide what she wants to order!

If you like music, kickass female characters, and a sprinkle of teenage drama then I highly recommend reading this

I jumped up when I saw this and immediately showed my fiancé (who is 4 years younger than me), but since she didn‘t come of age in the late 90s this was a bit lost on her.

Anyone else know the records they‘re referencing?

monalyisha I‘ve got “New Kids on the Block” & TLC‘s “Crazy Sexy Cool”... but the other one isn‘t coming so quickly. 🤔 6y

monalyisha Ohhh I see what I did! I didn‘t know the “New Kids” album title & thought “Kickin Hard” was a separate reference! I totally ignored the “album” on the bottom right. DUH! In 6th grade, some friends & I used to dress up as The Spice Girls & “perform.” 😅 I was Baby Spice. 🤫✌🏻 (edited) 6y

Tagged book is same author, but different title.

I really enjoyed this comic about Hazel, who is poly and queer, visiting her parents in Portland and meeting Argent, a cool, queer, and fellow poly lady. My only complaint was that the comic vol is shorter than most, so it would have benefited from being longer and having more time for character development. All-in-all good story and great art

I have been super MIA on Litsy, so I‘m just going to jump in with a review!

I really loved this. Not only is it a great plot (reluctant citizens of Canon Cove, the location of the cult classic The Goonies ...ahem excuse me “The Gloomies”, find a real life treasure map..and they aren‘t the only ones interested in it *dun dun dun*) But it also has great representation of POC, queer folks, and there is a legit big girl (not just a “curvy” girl) 😍😍

I‘m struggling to write a review because I feel that I won‘t do this book justice. Beautiful and profound and I loved every minute of it. It‘s about second chances...and third chances...and fourth chances...and so on. And how one instance can alter your whole future. Luckily Ursula can perfect her world by being born again after death...but I was left wondering how the characters outside of the Todd family were affected (for better and for worse)

We read this for bookclub last night and we were all surprised at how much we liked it! I love sci fi, but this is definitely more science-y than I usually read. Even though the physics are heavily explained, the plot is what drives the story. We all agreed that the first 1/4-1/2 of the book was work, but after that the book soars. This is a trilogy, but could be read as a stand-alone, in my opinion 👽

I am a huge lover of bad movies and grew up watching MST3K every weekend

The first time I saw The Room was 7+ years ago in Hollywood during one of the midnight showings and Tommy Wiseau came by to throw a football around and shake hands. So of course I read Disaster Artist as soon as it came out and laughed out loud the entire time. If you haven‘t seen The Room, it‘ll make you want to and if you have, it just gives more wacky depth to it.

After starting many-a book and not finishing - I finally finished one and (hopefully) have broken my reading slump!

I‘ve discovered that, while I hate movies/TV with precocious children, I like reading them and Flavia de Luce is definitely a precocious 11year old. Her knowledge of chemistry, her plots of revenge against her sisters, and her determination to solve the murder make for an excellent protagonist.

We read this for our bookclub and it is a great pick for anyone looking for a book to discuss. Talking about death is very personal and something we, as a society, try to avoid. The tone of the book has the right amount of compassion and humor and everyone who came said that they didn‘t know even half of the facts involved with what is done to our bodies after death and our rights when a loved one dies.

Our cats give it 4 paws up 🐾 🐾

Continuing with review catch-up

I love film noir and hard boiled detectives, so I wasn‘t too surprised how much I liked this. I liked the main character and, obviously, she didn‘t come to conclusions fast enough at times (the author lets you know he‘s in on it by describing a movie where the main character stays ignorant for way too long), but considering she is chugging merlot and pills for 90% of her day, it‘s no wonder she‘s a little foggy 😉

I read a lot of really mixed reviews, so I was a little nervous to read this, but I‘m glad I did! A lot of people have complained about the main character, but her saltiness didn‘t bother me. Sure, I wanted to sometimes grab her shoulders and give her a shake, but she‘s a TEENAGER!

It did feel like two different books at times, but I loved both halves and I can‘t wait for the book of fairy tales to be released
