I'm not sure about this book, y'all. The prose style is gorgeous, atmospheric, dark, musical... The prose is what I keep coming back to. The story itself though is muddled and confusing and maybe I'm not smart enough to really get it, or maybe I'm not supposed to? I don't know but the cover is cool. 🐺

A remarkably summer-like day! Taking advantage with a little #frontporchreading. This one's about a backcountry ranger who goes missing and the efforts made to find him. It's well-written, if a little on the sad side. Reminiscent of Krakauer's Into The Wild.

I am so grateful for the warm days we've been having, summer extending into autumn. Love that it's Oct 6 and I am still reading out on my front porch! Just started this one... I'm intrigued. #currentread #frontporchreading #brewsandbooks
