I'm on my third month of reading to two UTK classes, and it's turning into a highlight of my week. The (mostly) unfiltered energy and enthusiasm and wonder is a balm to me. And I think they like my visits, too. :-)

ImperfectCJ When I was leaving today, they asked if I was going home. I told them that, yes, I was going home to see my son. One student said, "Be sure to hug your son when you see him!" I take commands from 4-year-olds pretty seriously, so of course I hugged my bigger-than-me kid when I got home. 4d

River Rose and the Magical Lullaby | Kelly Clarkson

so-so

I was going to say this may be one for the Kelly Clarkson fans. Then I read @LibrarianRyan ‘s review. So maybe not.

The illustrations are lovely - lots to explore in each one. But both the story and the storytelling are just… there… really. I‘m afraid it felt very much like what you‘d expect a celebrity picture book to feel like. #bbrc

You Can't Take An Elephant On the Bus | Patricia Cleveland-Peck

My trip to #London is over and I‘m back at home, ready to dig into all my purchases! I got two new books for my little niece. The elephant book has hilarious graphics and #Paddington is always a treat. Gotta prepare her young for her first travel to London!

River Rose and the Magical Lullaby | Kelly Clarkson

so-so

3 ⭐ I question how much help Kelly Clarkson had on this book. One it does not sound like Kelly Clarkson. Except for the lullaby. The lullaby sounds like Kelly Clarkson. This book has a decent cadence and rhymes well, but it does not sound like Kelly Clarkson. I especially say this because of how big they‘ve written Grammy award winning artist on the cover and how her biography lists all of her accolades in the music business.

LibrarianRyan It almost feels like the publishers trying to convince us that Kelly wrote this 100% on her own. I don‘t think so. It does not sound like Kelly Clarkson. I love Kelly. I love to listen to her sing, and while this book is fine I‘m not sure it would is something that would be published or be on the shelves if it didn‘t have Kelly Clarkson‘s name attached to it. 3w

This was a fun read about the Kinight Dunk and his squire called Egg. These two were very entertaining, especially Egg, and as usual, I feel like there are more stories that Martin is withholding from everyone 😸

I love a good animal book from a writer who loves animals. Read in honor of the new season of All Creatures Great and Small. Each story is remembered lovingly or harrowingly by the patient's distinct personality and the ornery personality of some owners. This set of memories is focused on the new medical technology in veterinary practices after WWII. The funniest story is about AI (artificial insemination).
