I was curious about The Lore of Prometheus and a bit wary to pick it up because it is not something I typically read. However, I had the pleasure to be part of her blog tour and I decided to read it.

There are authors who wrote a bestseller and their next books struggle to beat the high bar they set. There are authors whose best book is yet to come. Beth O‘Leary proves, with every book she wrote, that she is one of the latter.

If you like her previous books, you will love this one!

It‘s Sunday and I‘m here to remind you of this book.
Why it is perfect for your Sunday read?
📖It‘s short and easy to read in one sitting.
📖 It will take you to another world and make you forget for a few hours that Monday is coming.
📖 Being short and fast reading it can help you boost your reading challenge. (I‘m currently 6 books behind the schedule according to GR 🙈)

I‘m around 20% and have no clue what‘s going on! Does it become better? I‘m struggling to get involved with the plot. 😐

Daniela Petrova, like me, is a Bulgarian. You won‘t believe how amazed I was when I saw a book that is receiving so much hype, with Bulgarian name perching on the bottom of its cover. I had the chance to meet her and have a chat. She is so lovely! People like her make me feel proud that I‘m Bulgarian and the book it is so good in the same time I can‘t recommend it enough!

Simply brilliant!
It is everything you can want from a book. It is witty, it is quite a good mystery and it is sad from time to time. I laugh (probably in some really inappropriate places), I cried because of Nadia fate, and the whole book kept me on the edge of my chair all the time. Bonus – it didn‘t fail in surprising you all the time till the end.

This book doesn‘t deserve a bright or colourful picture. Because it‘s so dark and terrifying you can barely stand reading it without crying. It‘s not the light summer read I‘m going to recommend to everyone. But it‘s a must-read book. I couldn‘t stop thinking about it a whole week after I finished it.

Many thanks to Readers First and Hot Key Books for providing me with ARC of this book.

The book opens with typical high-school drama. In addition, we can supplement money and rich, spoiled kids.Yeah, sounds like typical YA drama. But we are expecting dystopian Sci-Fi, aren‘t we? I enjoyed the book although it‘s not what I expected.

This is a debut novel by the author and it is absolutely stunning. It is a story about love, friendship, family, and time-traveling, of course. I hate to write negative reviews.. But ‘I Owe you One‘ kind of disappointed me.
The story was so naive and stereotyped. A girl idealizes her childhood love and thinks she still loves him. Then, she meets a handsome stranger and fells in love with him. Then, they are together out of blue, then, they are not, and at the end they are back together.

I finished it wast night in one sitting. I haven‘t read Romance books since I was in high school, so the book brought me back to my teenage years. 😁
Liked the plot and the story author tells. But I have such a strange feeling that I have read something similar before. I felt a deja vu from the moment Ben leaves the box with his script in front of Fallon‘s door. Like I read this book before, or maybe I read a passage from it. I can‘t remember. :(

Vocabulary 4000 | Jeff Kolby

Hi, there! Hope your weekend is going well.
I have a question: as I‘m not a native English speaker, I‘m looking for improving my English and my vocabulary, in particular.
I‘m open for offers and suggestions, and I‘ll be so grateful for the help!
P.S. I am living in English-speaking country, use English in my everyday life - chatting, reading mails and etc. Also I‘m reading in English a lot. Mark new words, but still feel like I‘m not good enough.

tpixie Your English in this post is perfect! I would have never guessed English is not your first language!! 🥳🥳🥳 6y
Captivatedbybooks Have you thought about reading kid chapter books? Like Charlottes Web? That would be good exorcise 6y
Hope_a @tpixie Thank you so much, dear. ❤️ I have the feeling that I am using the same words all over again. Trying to keep a treasure dictionary handy, so I can check for synonyms and not repeating myself. Also I read a lot of book bloggers and they use such a word, oh my god. Some time I have to check every second word. But somehow it sounds more profound, and makes me want to go up to their level of expression. 6y
See All 19 Comments
Hope_a @Captivatedbybooks I am thinking of reread Harry Potter series. I‘ve read the books hundreds of times but in my mother tongue. A friend told me that Rowling built up such a great vocabulary through the books that makes them so helpful when you want to improve. 6y
tpixie @Hope_a I've heard we speak at a third grade level, and so to build your vocabulary, you need to read. Sounds like you're off to a great start!! ( Maybe enroll in a word a day in a dictionary app and write one sentence using it- even if not in your blog!). 6y
dreadamara Have you tried audio books? I know listening helped my pronunciation and grammar when I was learning Arabic and Greek. 6y
Hope_a @dreadamara Yeah, I did but I‘m easily distracted. I failed listening audiobooks even on my language. (Shame! 😅) 6y
melissanorr Maybe try reading and listening to the same book. I know a colleague of mine who listens to a chapter of an audiobook (or has her tablet "read" an ebook to her with the accessibility software) and then reads the same chapter in print. She said it really helps her with retaining the material so it might also work for building vocabulary. 6y
Slajaunie Watch the news. They speak with no accent and do not use slang. 6y
Hope_a @melissanorr Thank you! 😊 I‘ll try. 6y
Hope_a @Slajaunie Yup, I‘m watching the news (especially now with this hot Brexit topic). I don‘t have a problem with understanding. I‘m working with native-speakers from different parts of the country and they all have different accents. Looking for a way to build up a good vocabulary because I have a feeling I use simple words and repeat myself constantly. 6y
danimgill For adding to your vocabulary you could always try flashcard type games! I used freerice.com when I was in school to study for the SAT vocabulary section, the site donates rice to a charity organization for every correct vocabulary answer you give. But I‘m sure there are tons of newer apps/games for vocab out there now 😊 Your English is awesome by the way! 6y
Slajaunie There are different accents as well as local slang. Try crossword puzzles. 6y
Hope_a @danimgill Thank you! I checked the site and it‘s amazing. Already listed some new words from there. Thank you, again! 6y
LazyDays Pinterest has some great boards to help with sight words. Just search learning English. Hope that helps, good luck! 6y
LazyDays Also thesaurus.com helps find other words with the same meaning. So you don't feel like your saying the same words.😊 6y
Hope_a @LazyDays Thank you! I know about Pinterest‘s boards, also have my own with grammar explanations, phrases and others. It‘s really helpful. ☺️ 6y
CoffeeK8 @danimgill I second the Free Rice recommendation 6y
Redwritinghood Duolingo is a good, free service. 6y

Confess: A Novel | Colleen Hoover

Here is my #February #TBR list. Like I said, I am going to do Romance readathon! 😅 Although, it‘s not my genre, I do enjoy some romantic books. I‘m quite behind the new releases. Everybody around me is so hyped about Collen Hoover‘s books, I feel ashamed I haven‘t read a sentence from her. I hope, I‘ll catch up.
This is my #LitsyAtoZ TBR list, as well. Here I have books for letters: A, C, H, K, N, O, P, T and U.

Pickpick

Life has an expiry date, like everything does. But nobody know how long this period is, also it is completely personal, so there is no universal date for all of us. But what if you know the exact day of your death? How you might live your life if you knew?

Find out more here:

P.S. I read this book for #24in48 readathon and loved it!
