Books and comics I read in September!! 😊📚
This was a super interesting historical fiction book! I think the events in the book seemed so real because it was based on actual expeditions to Alaska.
It's written by the author of The Snow Child, and I really enjoyed the writing of that one. And this had a similar magical realism kind of feel to it.
(excuse the bargain sticker; it started ripping the cover when I tried peeling it off 🙃)

Books I read in July!! I've been mostly focusing on reading books I've been meaning to read for forever (i.e. lots of classics and nonfiction)
Total: 14
5 comics/graphic novels
7 physical books, 2 ebooks
Favorite: The Color Purple
Least Favorite: The Wizard of Earthsea -this book made no sense to me at all (and not in a fun way either 😆)
I'm having a bit of a slow reading month so far, but I finished this one! My first by this author...
I liked it, not loved it— I didn't find the first half to be all that entertaining, but it definitely picks up towards the end. Some of the messages/morals seemed rather heavy-handed. I did enjoy learning a little more about monarch butterflies 🦋😊
#Junewrapup #Junestats #readingwrapup #monthlywrapup
June reading wrap-up! I had a fun reading month with a little more free time than usual 😊
Stats:
1 audiobook
4 comics
6 ebooks, 6 physical copies
Favorite: I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and The Body is not an Apology
It's my birthday! No big plans for today, but I think later I'll be watching the new Little Women movie with my family 😊
Oh! And eating a rainbow sprinkle cheesecake 🎉🎂
Finally got around to reading this ARC I won in a Goodreads giveaway a while ago. I'll give it about 3.5 or 4 stars⭐ Nothing groundbreaking, but a solid YA fantasy! And it's a pretty quick read.
I wish there had been more explanations for the magic system and a little more character development.

This is a super interesting science/medicine story I'd never heard of. A bit of a difficult read, but an important one. Though, I do feel like the nonfiction narrative kind of dissolved towards the end, and I was left with several unanswered questions...
There's an HBO movie adaptation I think I'll give a try

This was a pretty decent nonfiction book, although maybe I would have preferred more science and less memoir...
The part about eating jellyfish was interesting to me because that wasn't anything I'd ever considered 😅 Apparently, (if properly prepared) it tastes like a crisp, raw vegetable 🤔
Overall, I'll give this one a pick for being short

I really liked the atmosphere of this one and the interesting cast of characters, but the ending felt messy/rushed.
It reminded me of The Wicked Deep a little (I liked this one better though)

Books I read in April! Trying to work on reading through my owned books lately, so I did get to 4 of those.
Favorite: Little Women or The Red Tent
Tagging a poetry book I read in April that I thought was really cool
#Aprilwrapup #Readingwrapup #Aprilstats #Readingstats #monthlywrapup #comics #graphicnovels
Comics/graphic novels I read in April!
Favorite: I was pleasantly surprised by Godshaper; it had an awesome inventive story/universe and some pretty cool characters
I ended up really liking this one! I wasn't sure if it would be confusing not having the Bible knowledge background, but most of the negative reviews I saw on Goodreads were from people familiar with the original stories.
It ultimately didn't really feel all that religious to me, and I really liked the kind of insight into what ancient women's lives might have been like.

I've been reading very slowly lately 🤔 Even this fast paced (and large print) book took me over a week...
Anyway, I did enjoy this one! Not perfect by any means, but a fun sort of mystery/almost action movie plot. It kind of reminded of the Da Vinci Code but more supernatural.
I'm also almost finally finished with Little Women! Only 150 pages left

Been doing some reading outside lately 😊
I have been reading this since the beginning of March 😅 I'll finish it eventually...
I've seen a few different adaptations of Little Women and I'm excited to watch the newest movie at some point!

Comics I read in March!
Favorites: 📚The Sand Warrior- really awesome art and interesting story + world building
📚Monet: Itinerant of Light- a gorgeous biography of artist Monet
Least favorite: 📚B*tch Planet- not my style; art or storyline 👎
I didn't find this to be the most fascinating book ever. There were a lot of long explanations and stiff dialogue...
But now I can watch the movie! (Which will hopefully be more exciting 😁)
#FridayFun @wanderinglynn
1️⃣ Fluffy contemporary YA books are always fun escapes 😊
2️⃣ I can always watch the Scott Pilgrim movie again and again!
3️⃣ Currently watching all of Vanderpump Rules on Hulu.
All time favorite shows: Stranger Things and Maniac (both on Netflix)
4️⃣ Crochet!
This was a really cool nonfiction book! It's written in such a funny and engaging way. (Though I do admit I skimmed through some of the more technical chapters)
I was thinking this would be an awesome video game; like you would go to a random point in the past and have to invent things...
😁📚
I really enjoyed reading this! Awesome illustrations too♥️🐱🐰🐷🐴🐄

1️⃣ Keep the ones I love, donate the ones I don't
2️⃣ I'd probably say average 3 days. Longer if I'm reading multiple things at a time
3️⃣ Trust Exercise by Susan Choi. I did not enjoy the beginning few chapters and decided to bail
Such an amazing ending to a great trilogy! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I hope there'll be a spin-off series or something... I already miss these characters
✨📚😁
#currentlyreading I was worried to start this one because I wasn't sure if I'd remember the other books in the series, but I'm surprised at how much I remember 😁📚
I don't know why it took me so long to finally read this one!!
I loved it. I found the story comforting; something happens and then it's resolved!
I also really liked Anne, and I think I need to read more in the series. Plus I've already watched a few episodes of the Netflix show, so I'll continue with that 😊
What's a classic you've been meaning to get to?? ⬇️

First reading wrap up of the year!!
Heavy on the nonfiction this month, which takes me a lot longer to get through than fiction.
Most of these have been on my TBR for forever, so I was glad to finally get to them.
Favorite: The Ten Thousand Doors of January ♥️ ✨
Least favorite: Where'd you go Bernadette #unpopularopinion 🤷♀️
It took me a while to get through this one! #chunkster
Really it wasn't until the last half that I finally started almost being able to understand what was happening 😅 Every other word, including names being new/made up was hard, and then the main characters were named Paul and Jessica?? It threw me off lol
I've heard there's a movie adaptation coming out later this year with a lot of celebrities. Could be good?! 😁

Last reading wrap up of 2019!!
Gideon the Ninth was my favorite for sure, but also the comic The Avant-Guards was really good
I'll post my best of the year later. (or tomorrow to give myself more time to decide 😊)
Happy New year! 🎉🎉🎉
I thought this was so so good!! The best movie I've ever seen in the theater and my new favorite Star Wars movie 😁
I will definitely be seeing it again 😍
Have you seen it yet? What did you think?
(To keep this post bookish, the tagged book is a Star Wars novel high up on my list📚)
#starwars #theriseofskywalker
A decent but slightly bland Star Wars novel. I kept waiting for something different to happen but it kind of just stayed the same throughout.
3/5 ⭐
So excited for the new movie though!!!! 😁
I liked this one! It took a while for me kind of understand what was going on, and for the plot to pick up but once it did it was really cool and unique.
Looking forward to the sequel since that ending was a little bit of a cliffhanger!!

I forgot how much I love this series until I started rereading it! This last one is the best I think 💖
So excited for Call Down the Hawk!!!
Happy Halloween!! 🎃💀🦇🐈
