panMarked is a special book. It's really bad and boring and at the same time hilarious and quite something to experience. A teenage daughter advising her mom about high-school life and the mom taking it seriously and writing this novel based on that really shows. The dialogue is just something else... read it with friends out loud and try to give each character a unique voice. That is definitely the way to read this.

I've been having a hard time getting into reading this month. Last month I didn't feel like it and this month I just can't get anything to stick. I must have started half a dozen already and can't get past the first couple chapters on either so tonight I'm picking up an old favourite that hasn't been on my radar in years. Hopefully a reread with kick start my month!

so-soThis book was difficult for me to rate. The first half would have been rated two stars at most. The authors attempted to be relevant and failed miserably. So many pop culture references and way to many teenager stereotypes ruined the first half for me. They also used the words fag and retard a few too many times. Then the story started to pick up a bit and the immaturity of the first part of the book relaxed enough for me to like the story more.

pickI read this for the first time when I was about 12 years old and I remember the relief lace on the cover to be so beautiful! Now, another 12 years later, I read it for the 4th time on my e-reader and altough there is no lace to be felt and the dialogue is a very adult view of how teenagers talk, but I still loved it! I love how there is a world created where vampires are completely normal. It makes me want to go to vampireschool myself!

pickGreat book... Great series... Marked is the first novel of the House of Night fantasy series written by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. Young teenagers are selected to enter a four-year period transformation to a vampyre and marked with the unfilled mark of a crescent moon.
pickI like it. Took me like three days. Easy read. My mom liked it too if that counts.
My girlfriend is highly obsessed with these books. I figured I‘d give it a go. The premise sounds good. Hopefully I‘ll like it enough to stick with the series, but so far so good.

Last day of my read along of Marked. I finished the book and loved it! As you can see my orange cat helped me read about Nala, the orange cat in the book! I had a hard time putting the book down during the last 100 pages. I am so curious to find out what will happen next! Good thing I have the next three books ready to read! Day two of my Marked read along. Today I read chapters 11-19. This section was mostly about two different full moon rituals. I liked learning more about the Vampyres and the rules of their community. I also completely love Zoey‘s friends Stevie Rae and Damien! I also really like Zoey‘s cat. I love female orange cats! Things are getting a little more complicated for Zoey because she isn‘t like theothers. Can‘t wait to read more!

Day one of my read along and the first 10 chapters of Marked. So far I am really like the mix of Vampire and Cherokee cultures. My favorite part was when Zoey described her laughter as birthday cake frosting! I‘m not so into the mean girl storyline and there is some offensive language in here. Some of the 2007 slang is not okay by today‘s standards. Overall I‘m looking forward to reading more! What are your thoughts?

so-soI was skeptical when I first started this book. It didn't catch my attention when I first started. It wasn't until the middle of the book that I really got interested. However I feel I know how this story is going to unfold and I am a little disappointed. Not sure if I will continue with the series.

bailedI started this audiobook and returned it by the middle of chapter 2. I even requested a second opinion to make sure I wasn't crazy. This narrator's voice put both of our nerves on edge. Her voice is screechy, her tempo is off, and her lilting is all wrong. Not to mention she's voicing shallow teenage girls, but just makes them sound whiney. I'm still not scared away from the series, but I'm definitely going to have to read this myself. 👎👎🙉🙉
