😻 thank you so much, @Emiller !! Thank you so much for the lovely gifts. These books sound perfect! An art themed mystery and a Halloween-y one: you're covering all my bases. And the socks are the coziest! #letsgetcozy #bookmail
This graphic novel adaptation of Frankenstein is a great reminder for me of why it's my favorite classic. (And killing time at Barnes and Noble? 👌🏻)
Thanking my college desk job days for my ability to read a work document and listen to an audio book at the same time. Grading papers on Art Theft goes pretty well with kickass lady fantasy 🏹🤺✨
All signed up for @MaleficentBookDragon 'a #allhallowsreadbookexchange ! What better way to celebrate my favorite holiday?
Paper Source has a deal on custom embossers! I've had a couple of people ask about it here on etsy, I got one as a gift a long time ago. Fantastic bookish gift 💖

Finished this one here at our camp site! We're in Straits State Park, in Michigan's UP right next to the Mackinac Bridge.
Lemony Snicket always brings it, so I knew it was a solid choice to bring with me. This one didn't disappoint.
It took me a while to finish, what with time-sensitive reading commitments forcing me to jump around, but Flavia always brings it 👏🏻👌🏻

Oh. My. God.
This was AMAZING! I can't believe how good it was. I downloaded it on #netgalley mostly for the cover, I never imagined it would affect me so deeply. But it did.
It was beautifully written and beautifully drawn. And I don't even know what I'll do till vol. 2.
You're all hitting double digits on your #24in48 and I'm crawling into bed after twelve straight hours of party prep: my little brother's grad party is tomorrow and I'm exhausted. But I'll at least get a little reading in, and after the party tomorrow I will retreat and hibernate with books, cat, and leftover salsa (homemade from our garden 💖)

It's thunderstorming out, which is my favorite weather. All I want to do is climb into my bed and read, but I have to grade 😞⛈
Returning to this audiobook after a long break while I do some painting 💖 🎨
Keep stumbling onto bookish quizzes today! Can't disagree with Modern Mrs. Darcy's evaluation here.

I read this in college for a course and paid truly the minimum of attention to it, as I had so much going on...maybe it is time for a reread!

Big day: toured and applied to live in an (amazing) apartment in an area I've been wanting to move to. Part of the allure is their fantastic library. (The apartment has a huge balcony and a working fireplace, in a metropolitan area?? And I can afford it and it allows cats?? I'm pumped)

It was summer the first time I read this, and I've read it every summer since. The perfect summer read 💖

This! Book!
It is NOTHING like the cover or the blurb would lead you to believe. It's gritty (for middle grade), and fascinating, and so page turner-y. I SO recommend it, especially for this audible deal!
Getting ready for an art market in part of in July with some HP themed bookmarks and other prints! ⚡️
!!! I'm so ready!
Confirmed and shipped my box! Poisonwood Bible is one of my favorite books of all time, and I haven't owned a copy till now. And the coloring book is a freebie I stumbled onto! #botm
Another month over and done! This first month of really settling into my new job has nearly doubled my books read this year 💖 onto July!
Oh my gosh. This book had me hooked from start to finish. There are a few things nagging at me about it, but a full review will come later. For now I'm just recovering from this psychologically fascinating, crazy-well-narrated audiobook (and wondering what I'll listen to on the last day of my 80-mile commute tomorrow.)
I'm driving two hours a day this week to teach a summer art camp, and this book is making it hard to get out the car.
My first #paperstreetbooks subscription box was a home run, but I open the letter to find it's their last! At least I snuck in one. (Spoiler comment contains what's in the box, in case anyone gets it and hasn't received yet!)
#riotgrams #childhoodreads
I read this book to death. A middle grade art theft mystery with clue-filled illustrations by Brett Helquist was basically the 9-year-old Lauren's heaven.
#riotgrams #truestories :
Just arrived from thirftbooks! I love all things #Frankenstein, so I'm excited for this thoroughly researched history of how it came to be.
#riotgrams #currentread :
I've never known how to read one book at a time. There's also Juliet Takes a Breath and Ink Mage on kindle; I just curl up and open whichever I'm feeling at the moment. (I think this stops me from DNFing a lot: I like it all but have to be in the mood, so I jump around.)
SOS: I need sticker removal tips!
Doing some book storage shopping in preparation to move later this summer! It figures that this is even more exciting to me than looking at actual apartments 😘
#readingwomenmonth prompt #womenofcolor and #riotgrams prompt #booksthatmadeyoucry collide! It's been a while since I read a memoir, and I'm so glad I picked this one up. She speaks so candidly and thoughtfully about the hardships she's faced, always pausing to explain what they've taught her and the things she's learned since: she's kind with the way she educates her audience. I admire her more with every page, she's a wonderful role model.
