Found this beauty at the Junkstock today. Any suggestions of how I should use it in my library?

I grew up using these.
Look at these cute notecards I found at Target today!
It needs a little TLC, but it's MINE!! Librarian dream come true!! 😭🤓💕#OldSchool #CardCatalog #LitsyLovesLibraries #HomeLibrary
Currently on Craigslist. Having one of these would be cool; however maybe not for over a thousand dollars.
So excited to flip through these pages.
And this is what I did with those 979 note cards. The card catalog was a Christmas present from my in-laws a couple of years ago, and now I'm finally using it! The left column is my fiction books, read in the top drawer and unread in the bottom. The right column is nonfiction, read and unread. I'm looking forward to emptying those bottom drawers into the top ones as I read all the books!
I've been working on cataloging all the books I own for the past couple of weeks. It resulted in a giant spreadsheet that my husband helped me print out on note cards this weekend. Turns out I have a total of 979 books (after a huge purge), and I've only read 47% of them. I'll have to work on getting that number higher!
It's officially home! My neighbor and his son in law moved it in like it was nothing, super impressive to Mom and I. Chico approves too, if for no other reason than he can easily reach the prayer flags now. 🤷🏻♀️
I'll post another pic after it's all cleaned up and styled (fun!) but for now I'm just so happy to have it here! ❤️
This one's still not in the Litsy database, but I've been sitting on this book for quite a while now -- one that I received thru LibraryThing & finally just now getting a chance to browse through thoroughly. More like a coffee table book, but it's definitely got some eye candy for book lovers. 📚👁🍭
My card catalog will supposedly be in this space as of Sunday afternoon. I already used up those 4 bins on the right and there are still books on the shelves. 😳 Had better get a move on!
Also my body decided one week of no insomnia was enough, so here I am at 3 AM. My alarm goes off in 3 hours and I have to work this morning. 🤞🏻Hoping I can get a few hours sleep!
I took my parents to the library at lunch. My dad got his very own card, but my mum asked me to borrow a couple of books for her on mine. Oh, Mumsie.
Paper Source has a deal on custom embossers! I've had a couple of people ask about it here on etsy, I got one as a gift a long time ago. Fantastic bookish gift 💖
It arrived! The Book Riot for Book Lovers prize box from Chronicle Books came today. The book looks really interesting and I love the reader's journal 💙. The notecards will be great for future book swaps. 📚
[This is not really the book. The book is "The Card Catalog: Books, Cards, and Literary Treasures" by Library of Congress and Carla Hayden] Now reading about the French Cataloging Code of 1791 created on playing cards!
Please enjoy my latest on @bookriot in which I catalog all the ways you can use a card catalog in your space. http://bookriot.com/2017/07/10/need-library-card-catalog/
Woohoo! I'm really excited. This is the first non-Litsy giveaway I've won. 🤓
One of my big work projects has included going into local school libraries to help them update their collections. I spent today in my old elementary school and couldn't resist rescuing a few cards with my fourth grade signature as we weeded!
I wasn't super interested in reading the history of the card catalog but it was lovely to page through. A pretty book for library lovers.
(Not correctly tagged but this newer card catalog book isn't in the Litsy database yet.)
Check this out- added two to my TBR. http://bookriot.com/2017/04/14/10-books-for-library-lovers/
Couldn't find a listing in the Litsy database for this beauty that arrived on my doorstep today. I'll be off petting it for the remainder of the evening. 😉
Every now and then we need to treat ourselves. #librariansoflitsy #carcatalognerd
Isn't this a beauty? It's at the Buffalo and Erie County Central Branch. And it's empty. I don't miss filing cards in my own library (or worse, un-filing them) but I do miss the furniture. #librariansoflitsy
#riotgrams #libraries I never thought I'd visit the Library of Congress. This Summer, my dream not only came true but I also got a Patron's pass!
Here's a little nostalgia to end the day...
This was a birthday gift from my husband last year. He found the card catalogue on eBay and had a welder make the stand.
But here's the secret...the drawers store wine bottles perfectly! 🍷🍷🍷
