This was my first real attempt at a romance and I loved it! Strong female lead, laugh out loud moments, and a happy ending. Just the escape I needed.

This was a great book about women showrunners and writers and the TV shows they made, from Murphy Brown to Transparent. I added several several shows to my to-watch list. As someone who seems to miss great shows while they're airing, I appreciated reading about the social and political climate during each show and how they influenced each other. Fascinating and inspiring read!
The language was a little goofy, but the illustrations were lovely. I've already done a fair amount of introspection so the exercises weren't helpful for me. If exploring your cultural, family, and personal stories sounds like the insight you need in your life, give this book a try.
So many great and endlessly customizable Buddha bowl recipes in this book! I typically like a grain base for bowls, but I wanted to try something different. This Vietnamese inspired recipe features zoodles, carrots, cucumbers, basil, mint, peanuts, and tofu, with a tangy and bright nuoc cham dressing. Yum! #netgalley
I made it through the second brush with death. The storytelling was engaging and the narration was lovely, but it was just too heavy for me right now. I may try again sometime.
I'm adding several audiobooks to itunes tonight and the tagged book is really sparking my curiosity! I tried to circle my typical audiobook tasks, but cooking and walking are my favorites. @RealLifeReading
A definite page turner! I guessed who did it early on, but there were plenty of twists and turns along the way to keep me interested. Don't read before bed or in a glass house!
In this month's Books for Beer Nerds book club, we paired One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest with Susannah Cahalan's Brain On Fire. We had an amazing discussion about mental illness, generational experiences, personality, and memory.
Brain On Fire read like an episode of House from the patient's perspective. I couldn't put it down!
Pulled my #rainbowbookstack from the recent nonfiction shelves! #riotgrams 📚
Here's my attempt at a #readingselfie for #riotgrams. Book title. ✔️ Some part of my face. ✔️ Pressed the button without making the picture blurry. ✔️ Success!
"Walking shares with making and working that crucial element of engagement of the body and the mind with the world, of knowing the world through the body and the body through the world."
Post farmers market breakfast: Greek yogurt with strawberries and honey, French Press coffee. Everything but the yogurt is local! Looking forward to flipping through this great seasonal cookbook for some new ideas.
Listened to Gabrielle Union's new memoir on my camping trip and it was so good! She is a great storyteller and tackles some really tough subjects. I felt like I was listening to my good friend share her experiences with race, sexuality, self image, assault, celebrity, family, and everything in between.
The Holds List gods were smiling on me today! I was third on the list, but still managed to snag a copy of Meg Wolitzer's new book on release day!
Shonda Rhimes is an anxious introvert who is also funny, creative, and insightful. I learned a lot from Shonda's Year of Yes and I bought a copy for my sister!
