Well that was fun! I can always count on Elinor Lipman for quirky characters and snappy dialogue. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #FridayReads
My latest @bookculture Selects package arrived! I'm completely unfamiliar with this novel and author. Already love that they've expanded my reading reading horizons. My daughter chose the best Christmas gift ever! #bookmail
Starting a new #audiobook on my walk this morning. Have you read My Life in Middlemarch?
Wow! I love how this book all came together at the end.... well worth reading 600+ pages to get there. Hill has A LOT on his mind and much of it comes out in these pages. I laughed, I cried, I nodded my head in recognition, and gasped in amazement at the 13 PAGE sentence. This was a read/listen combo for me and the audio narration is outstanding. The Nix is the best book I've read this year! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My new kindle cover makes me ridiculously happy! It's all about the little things... 😍
My current #audiobook is eye-opening and a little scary, too. I had no idea how rampant food fraud is in the US! 😳
I'll be right here reading THE NIX if anyone is looking for me... 😎🌴🏖 #noaprilfools
5 o'clock - time for Chardonnay and The Nix. Nathan Hill can write, folks!! I may just skip dinner... 😎🌴📚
This cozy mystery reminded me of Maisie Dobbs... only a little more light-hearted and fun. Katherine Kellgren's narration is excellent! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Author talk and book signing... enjoyed meeting Nathan Hill at the #SWFLReadingFestival today. The Nix is up next for me. Borrowed my daughter's copy and had him sign it for her. 😉📚
Apparently audible thinks it's time to pick up the pace! I'm 60% done with Can You Forgive Her? and enjoying it very much. #PalliserParty #Trollope
I kept turning the pages, but was only mildly entertained. Maybe audio would have been the way go? Most readers seem to love it. #marchintoreading #didntlikeitstillfinished
#FridayReads and chardonnay! Haven't been around much lately, life gets crazy sometimes... but I'm 100 pages in and loving this book😍
Can't resist a NYC story, but this novel contrasting a Lehman exec family with Cameroonian immigrants was a standout. Set around the financial collapse of 2008, it's my favorite book so far this year!
So excited to receive my first paperback fiction package from Book Culture Selects! The book sounds amazing and, even better, is by an unfamiliar author. This might just be the best Christmas present ever... can't wait to start reading! 😃📚
The writing is the real star of this debut novel, but the characters and plot are memorable, too. Hard to believe the author is still in her 20s. Her future looks bright!!
Look, the sun is shining in central New York... a rare treat! The blanket says "I need my reading time!" #FunFridayPhoto #shelfie
Women's fiction isn't usually my thing, but I've lost myself in Elin Hilderbrand's Winter Trilogy this week. The final installment seemed a little rushed and, if this is the end of our time with the Quinn family, ultimately unsatisfying. I'm wavering between a pick and a so-so here... guess I'll go with the pick😐
🤡 Another trip back to the 1970s... The Country Club Murders is my favorite cozy mystery series! 3.5/5 stars
Apparently I'm in the mood for Christmas in a cozy inn on Nantucket with plenty of family drama! I breezed through the second book of Hilderbrand's Winter Trilogy yesterday, then immediately put the third on hold. Hope I don't have to wait too long...
My daughter got me a quarterly subscription to Noteworthy Fiction in paperback from @bookculture ... the first book ships January 1. So excited to see what they choose! Best gift ever🎁📚#bookishgifts #Seasonsreadings2016 @RealLifeReading
#Seasonsreadings2016 : #Christmassyreads I haven't been able to focus on anything the last couple of weeks. Decided to try some lighter women's fiction... just downloaded this from the library. First time reading Hilderbrand.🎄📚
Thanks to @Ebooksandcooks , I just took advantage of this daily deal! 😀
Look! A bookmark from Guatemala - just love the smiling faces and bright colors! A book club pal brought one home for each of us. Now if I only had time to sit and read...
That feeling when books I've read (and loved❣️) appear in my current book!😍📚
I'm in the mood for a holiday read tonight!🎄
A quick read, engaging story, and probably the most unusual premise I've come across. Books clubs will have a field day with this one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Digital library hold is here! Such an intriguing premise.... think I'll get in bed and start reading now😀📚 #tgif #FridayReads
This masterfully crafted story about a blended family was a real pleasure to read... Ann Patchett has done it again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
How strange is this??? A Klimt painting is mentioned in Commonwealth and I'm using my Woman in Gold bookmark from the Neue Gallery in NYC!
A truly inspiring memoir by the third woman appointed to the US Supreme Court... from the South Bronx, to Princeton, to Yale Law School, yet still devoted to her family and Puerto Rican heritage. This was a read/listen combination... Rita Moreno's narration was excellent! #NonfictionNovember
Snow day!! 12" and still coming down... giving myself permission to stay home and read all day! If you need me, I'll be #readinginbed ❄️☃️??#photoadaynov16
"...you cannot value dreams according to the odds of their coming true. Their real value is in stirring within us the will to aspire." #NonfictionNovember
Finished this dual biography today... two extraordinary women with very different legal styles, philosophies, and paths to the highest court. If you're at all interested in the Supreme Court, this is a must read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #NonfictionNovember
A stack of #orangecovers for #photoadaynov16 🍊
An interesting and eye-opening memoir, especially after last night's election, but not quite as strong from the big picture/ social commentary standpoint. Could have been 5 stars if he'd stuck to the memoir angle. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #NonfictionNovember
My #setinasmalltown choice is an audio favorite from a few years ago. Narration doesn't get much better than this... Mary Beth Hurt's Hildy Good was perfection! #photoadaynov16
#FunFridayPhoto The best biography I've ever read is about Richard Yates, a favorite author whose tragic life is reflected in his fiction. #NonfictionNovember
Opinions vary widely, but I adored this book! Messud's writing is exceptional. Her characters, though not especially likable, are interesting and real. And she positively nails the setting - NYC and especially Watertown, NY. I was reminded of The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer, a favorite from a few years ago. The Emperor's Children is a strong contender for my favorite novel this year! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another rainy Saturday morning, but I'm not complaining! ☕️📚🌧
