I loved Alice.
I understand Alice‘s love of Hatchet. Just as weird and adult as Alice but just not as good as Alice. The ending was great and I look forward to book 3!

EDIT - #31by31 … 28/31
Didn't want to wait for a physical copy to come in the mail so I got the ebook
Apparently I'm not the only one in a reading mood today.
While I appreciate the enthusiasm, maybe let's get potty training down before chapter books 😆
#RaisingReaders
I have finished book 1 @curiouserandcurioser and awaiting you for book 2. Don't worry about needing to rush. Only thing with this book is it is not in chapters, it is in 2 parts. I was wondering if we should discuss what we think after every 100 pages or so? There are 313 pages to the book. I'll wait for your email and we'll discuss a plan then. Look forward to your email 💌 #aliceinwonderland #retelling #thriller #redqueen #adventure #rabbithole
Here's the #bookspin #doublespin #bookspinbingo list for #February2022 I finally managed to settle on...
I made three different lists because my moods change so quickly these days.
This is the one I feel most in the mood for today... The tagged book is the one I'm most looking forward to atm (I think)... 😊
@TheAromaofBooks ❤
“So she should not wish to undo the past but learn to accepts its consequences, and remember that not all consequences were evil.”
Nice ending to a dark and gritty duology. Not as dark as the first book but has a more adventure focused plot. World building was so good and descriptions were vivid. Enjoyed the character development and relationship built even further. Ending wasn't how I expected things to go but even better.
"So she should not wish to undo the past but learn to accept its consequences, and remember that not all consequences were evil."
⭐️⭐️⭐️ OK read, little slow and I missed Hatcher and Alice being together but still interesting and creepy.
#fairytalereadingchallenge ♥️♦️🐇⏰
Currently reading. Not nearly as dark as the first one (Alice), but still good. However, at this point I'd say I prefer the first book. #FairytaleReadingChallenge @Charityann
I'm 64% through this book and it's fantastic! I absolutely love the writing, the characters, the whole story line, it's so well done. Do yourself a favour and start this series.
Very much enjoyed this continuation to Alice. I love what Christina Henry does with her books. They have this insider sense of understanding. Cause and effect, how consequences are good or bad not just bad. She makes Alice and Hatcher relatable, realistic and always growing.

Oh my heck! I just got a very special package in the mail that seriously made my day! Today was not the greatest for me. It was like you knew I needed it. ❤️ @Jee_HookedOnBookz thank you so very much I love the card too! I'm very excited about starting Red Queen!! You are the best! I can't wait to write you back. 😉
#LitsyLove
Super excited to start this one.
“The pieces are set and the game has already begun. Each move brings Alice closer to her destiny. But to win, she will need to harness her abilities and ally herself with someone even more powerful: the mysterious and vengeful Red Queen...”
Fantastic sequel to Alice. As if Through the Looking Glass had been written by the Brothers Grimm. I look forward to reading more from this author. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book 11 in the O.W.L.s readathon prompt=Defense Against Dark Arts=Read a book with an R in the title (due to Redactum spell).I changed this book from original tbr b/c I made a mistake🙄. In this story, Alice and Hatcher continue their voyage with the purpose to find Hatcher's daughter. You will see more dark and gory adventures but less graphic or frequent than book 1. It is a slow story with some boring scenes.3⭐️End has mix feelings-ok-soso-ok
This might be the second book in the story, but I still find the style of the novel to be a bit weird. I just can't decide whether I like it or not.
On to my third book for the #FemmeFanTale readaton. This is one series that I've been meaning to finish for a while.
It was so dark and so good! This second book in the chronicles of Alice was great.
Well, I made a tentative #24in48 stack. However, I might go rogue and read other things.
Not pictured: Dopesick (audio); Little Darlings (e-arc); Light from Other Stars (e-arc); multiple graphic novels.
I‘ve been exhausted this week, so it there might be more sleep then reading. My goal is to at least get 12 hours in, finish The Royal Art of Poison, and make more of a dent in The Iliad and my steadily growing ARC collection.
Wanna try finish my first series for 2019! I rarely read series, so this is one of the very few I've picked to finish! Cheers to #ANewChapter and #newbeginnings! 🎉🎉

Still waiting for my #newyearwhodis books to arrive! So excited to start 💃🏽
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU! What book are you starting on your first day?
@vkois88 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
This author never disappoints! It was lovely going back into the world of Alice and finishing her story. I really love the dark twist she puts into classic stories. Solid 10/10
I think I've found a new favourite quote in Red Queen. I think it's why we love to read our favourite stories over and over again. Nothing in a book has spoken to me like this in a long time. I think this book is going to be better next time I read it, just like all the books I've re-read in the past.
Good second book.
Thought the Red Queen would be in the book more.
That twist!
"she should not wish to undo the past but learn to accept its consequences and remember that not all consequences are evil"
As soon as I finished Alice I couldn‘t wait to jump in to the sequel. I was a bit disappointed with this one. It isn‘t as dark or addictive as the first book and I found myself getting a bit bored. Is much more character-driven than the first. As a reader who loved plot-driven books I got a bit bored but I did enjoy seeing what happened to Alice and Hatcher. #Retelling #Adult #Horror #3Stars
Finished this at the airport.... I really enjoyed this second installment of the Alice Chronicles. This one had a completely different feel than the first and in the beginning I wasn‘t sure how I was going to feel about it. In the end I loved it. Alice and Hatcher ... and all the characters really ... are very believable for who/what they are. I am definitely a fan of of Christina Henry and want to read more of her works!
Completely forgot to do this yesterday.
1. The sequel to Alice. Alice has survived the perils of the first book and is now on a mad journey through a dark forest full of evil magic and all sorts of fun. Sort of Alice in Wonderland meets The Brothers Grimm so far.
2. Coffee Nut M&Ms
3. Generation X
4. My Kindle
5. Binge watching Stranger Things and watching the Super Bowl with the husband.

Haven‘t had any time to read today. Going to start this one and try to squeeze in an hour or two before bed.
'The night is alive and so am I.'
✨Well... A little disappointed with the second book in the Alice duology? Series? I have no idea. I'm hoping duology, because it seemed like Henry was running out of ideas, therefore alot of it was drug out and repeated...alot of repetition. 🌹
✨It wasn't bad by any means, but it was pretty hard to want to finish. 🙈
✨I said I was done with retellings for a bit, but do Russian ones count? Next up- Vassa in the Night 📚
4/5
✨ I'd be taking a break from Alice retellings, but I definitely have to finish the Alice series- which leads me to Red Queen.🌹
✨If this one ends with the hint of a third, I may certainly go as mad as a Hatter.🙈
✨Also, after this, I'll definitely be taking a retelling break. Any suggestions on what I should read next? 📖📚💜
I haven't been on Litsy for a while, I've been in a massive reading slump. However, trying to get back on track by starting this today.
Have you ever read a line from a book and thought that it encapsulates your feelins about this book perfectly? Because this line is it. I want to finish this book but honestly I genuinely dont care what happens any more in this book! I am no longer interested in this book. I am over half way and I just dont care. I guess this is a bail and this quote is why. I'm good.
I just finished the first part of this book and honestly, I am not impressed. I am super disappointed right now, especially after loving Alice and Lost Boy! This is the sequel to Alice? Nothing has happened so far! I'm slogging through this...
Currently reading this. It has not been a good reading day today but I'm going to try and make some good time on this now. Pouring wine as we speak and getting comfortable on the couch.
Loved the second book in this Alice series! It is a different setting from the first yet still manages to be a cohesive world with the settings and characters of the first tale. I did like how the author separated Alice from the male protagonist and let her come into her own even more. I wished there was a bit more back story on the white queen and red queen, but otherwise a fantastic read!
Equally, if not, better than the first. Just as dark and just a disturbing #redqueen #christinahenry #hatcherfan #amazingbook #bookfan #iheartreading #aliceinwonderlandretold #booksiveread2017 #bookgeek
