I really don‘t know why it took so damn long for me to pick up this book. I loved it. I loved the world building and this dystopic setting. I loved the characters and I really couldn‘t put this down. I am so excited to see the movie and continue with the next book.

Absolutely loved re-reading Heir of Fire. I loved reading manon‘s parts even more in this second go round for this series. This is my fave in the series as it‘s just such a game changer and journey from Celeana to Aelin.

NightlyReading @Kayleigh12 The UK cover looks shinier? 6y
Kayleigh12 @NightlyReading maybe because our cover is block white colour for the background so the crown and font looks brighter and shinier. 6y

I really wanted to love State of Sorrow. I adore Melinda‘s Sin Eater‘s Daughter series and was super excited about this one. It was just found this one so slow going and I was bored for the most part. I did like the storyline but it was very political and I‘m not a big politics lover. I‘m not a massive contemporary lover but I seriously love this book. The first 100 pages or so were quite slow for me and I was thinking about giving up but I am so so glad I didn‘t. Once I hit that 100 page mark I couldn‘t put this down. A fantastic message behind a hilarious, flawed and unapologetic protagonist. Highly recommend. #YA #Contemporary #feminist #4Stars

As soon as I finished Alice I couldn‘t wait to jump in to the sequel. I was a bit disappointed with this one. It isn‘t as dark or addictive as the first book and I found myself getting a bit bored. Is much more character-driven than the first. As a reader who loved plot-driven books I got a bit bored but I did enjoy seeing what happened to Alice and Hatcher. #Retelling #Adult #Horror #3Stars

I was not expecting this! Alice is such a dark and disturbing book. From the cover and blurb I thought it would be a cute and intriguing retelling. It is intriguing but it‘s so dark. Don‘t be deceived. It‘s full of rape, sexual exploitation and murder. Although it wasn‘t what I expected I really enjoyed it. It was addictive and fantastic. #Retelling #Adult #Horror

This is such a hard review to write. I had heard so much about this book and I couldn‘t wait to read it but I am so disappointed. This book had so much potential to be this gritty, raw, powerful book with it being about a school shooting but instead I found it dry and boring. It‘s told from different POVs that change so often I had no idea who was speaking or anything about the characters. I got 50 pages in before giving up. Disappointed #YA

This was my first book from Gayle Forman and I am now wondering why I waited so long. I really enjoyed this book. I‘ve read others about depression and suicide and hated them because of how unrealistic they were. I Was Here is the total opposite. It‘s realistic, moving and handles suicide in a very sensitive manner. I love how it tackled how the people left behind deal with the upset, grief and guilt. I really enjoyed this beautifully moving tale.

I really enjoyed Beautiful Broken Things. It was such a refreshing and beautiful read about friendship, love and life. It tackles some really hard issues in such a sensitive yet raw and real way. I really liked that about this book. I also found it so refreshing as a lot of YA books involve some sort of romance. I loved that this was about love between friends rather than a romance.
