Meant to share this with y‘all sooner. I met Reese Witherspoon recently! 💫 Our sons played soccer against each other. She was so sweet and soft spoken. We chatted only briefly, but I was sure to express love for her book club! She showed us how to turn for the best photo lighting. 😂
For this #monthlybookrecipechallenge I made the Baked Brie recipe from Reese Witherspoon's book. And yes, it contains whiskey. 😉
#personalchallenge
This was cute, and I enjoyed listening to Reese narrate with her little twang in force. But it was less memoir than I expected and more how to imbue southern charm into your life, from hosting the best dinner party to embracing monogrammed items. Very fluffy

⭐️⭐️💫 Meh. Started off fine and entertaining enough and then just got sort of annoying. Nothing particularly insightful and a lot of experiences and worldview of a wealthy, attractive white woman. I like Reese Witherspoon fine—I just didn‘t think there was much substance to the book.
I‘ve been so busy building my wall of bookshelves that I forgot to post the last little project I did! I made myself a wall organizer for all my crazy earrings! Made the frame myself, painted it, added wood slats and a screen and voilà! It‘s exactly what I wanted! ? #AudioCrafting
1. I only really look at what Reese Witherspoon recommends. And I read some of those.
2. Here, friends, Goodreads.

Well I finished my audiobook but not my project. Guess I need a new book to help me finish! Anyway, I liked this. It was exactly what I expected it to be. Light and sweet and a quick fun read. 💖
I‘ve been listening to the tagged book and doing some #AudioCrafting I‘m (attempting) to build myself a hanging organizer for my crazy earring collection. Wish me luck!
Mostly southern lady stereotypes, cute southern phrases and not really funny quips. I love Reese, but I did not enjoy this book.

(Audiobook) This was a nice change in pace. I enjoyed listening to Reese talk about the southern traditions she grew up on, and continues with her own children. The PDF contained some nice recipes to try later on.
Reese: How 1980s businesspeople got kids addicted to stickers, I will never understand, but it was pretty pervasive.
Me: Um... *Still hasn't overcome this addiction*
I adore Reese Witherspoon...and now I also adore her late grandmother, Dorothea. I think we can remove the *southern* out of this quote and apply it to all women; True women treat everyone the way we want to be treated: with grace and respect - no matter where they come from or how different from you they may be.
A delightful quick break from other serious/longer reads! Now I have some new recipes to try.
Loved it. Love her. The end. Can‘t say anything bad about it. I did this as an audiobook on accident and it was read by her. Still loved it.

“Every day is not a success. Every year is not a success. You have to celebrate the good.”
~ Reese Witherspoon
My cousin was right. This book is charming, in a light escapism way. It also made me miss my mother and grandmother. My best friend is British and I confuse her with my love of monograms, southern sayings and over decorating for Christmas. I think I am going to make her read this, that way she can understand it is just where I am from.
If you want to hear cheerful Reece statements like, “I make sure there‘s something for people to snack on as soon as they arrive”, this is the audio for you. The light, aspirational, southern lifestyle book might normally feel superficial to me, but during the pandemic I found it comforting to listen to while I daydreamed of entertaining again.
I don't typically read books in this genre. But listening to Reese talk about random things for about 3 hours or so was sort of fun.
My review of this book can be found on my Youtube Vlog at:

Enjoy!
A quick read - the audiobook came in slightly under 3 hours. Reese is charming in this and that lends alot to the audiobook.
A cute collection of anecdotes accompanied by a slew of recipes from families & friends. Not so much a memoir as a mix of short stories, etiquette lessons, & culinary tips, but super adorable nonetheless. Her perky & homespun personality comes through radiantly. The length is just right to keep things animated & fun while still feeling like it has a bit of substance. Quick & easy read & she has provided a pack of recipes I want to try.
When the suffragettes were marching, they started wearing red lipstick so they would all be wearing the same bold color and stand in solidarity with one another. I love how this little thing many women had in their purses became a powerful political symbol. It's a reminder that we don't have to diminish ourselves as women to be seen as strong. You can push for societal change and you can love getting dressed up. You don't have to choose.
Very much enjoyed this audiobook, read by Reese herself. It was an interesting and humorous insight to not only her childhood, but southern life/ culture as well. I'll have to get ahold of a physical copy though to look at the recipes she provides.
This was good, for what it was. Entertaining to flip through, but for me not a book I‘m going to read word for word. It did help me accomplish my 2019 #goodreadsreadingchallenge though and get one more book off my #TBRReads #WinterGames #TeamNutcracker
I was looking for a short audiobook to listen to while on the treadmill and this fit the bill.
Exactly as advertised - Reese shares her southern values as well as recipes.
Cute.
Also - Happy Thanksgiving!
Giving this a whirl. I like Reese.
Lovely, like a chat with an old friend. Gorgeous photos, intriguing recipes I can‘t wait to try. I‘m glad I got this from the library, I‘m not sure I‘d need to own it, but the perfect read to pop in and out of while chilling.
I‘ve been wishing for this book! Found it at TJ Maxx and used my bonus bucks. Score!
Looking at photos of our end of Summer Anniversary Trip and forgot to share this photo. I had taken it just for Litsy! Love finding books in places that I did not expect. This was at Wayne Gretzky‘s whiskey distillery in Niagara-on-The-Lake, Ontario!
This was a cute, enjoyable, wise book about growing up in and continuing to love the South and all the stories and traditions that go along with it. Listened to Reese Witherspoon narrate her own book 😄which made it that much better.
People think that caring about silly things like cooking or fashion is mutually exclusive with serious politics. But my mother and grandmother and their friends taught me that finding pleasure at home, whether it was in a family dinner, or a book club, or a backyard barbecue, can give us the strength to go out into the world and do incredible things.
#RedRoseSeptember #SeptemberSins Reese Witherspoon is my favorite all around #Entertainer / she‘s an avid reader, a kickass mom, a gifted actress, a style icon and the type of chick you could hang with on a Friday night over some #ChippyTea or #WingsAndWhiskey 🥃 Another book on my virtual TBR
I love Reese. I think we could be friends. This is a great book to flip through on a lazy day. It has a little bit of everything. Her book recommendations made my library hold list a little bit longer, too.
I listened to the audiobook I borrowed from Cloudlibrary , unfortunately I had no access to the PDF file with recipes etc. So I felt like I was missing half the book. No photos either. I enjoyed Reese Witherspoon ‘s narration but I hope to find the actual book at my next book sale
It‘s cold and dark. I think hubby needs to bring me a drink in a teacup, though. I borrowed this one from the library, but I might have to buy it.
Ordered these 2 books. After waiting a few months they finally came down in price! 🤗
I left my current read at the office so I‘m jumping back into this happy book!
I got to look through a signed copy of this at B&N right after it came out & it is a truly beautiful, if expensive, coffee table book. I needed a new audiobook & saw this on Libby yesterday. My thoughts: 1) It was way harder to access a pdf supplement for a Libby book than I expected! 2)She comes off as totally down to🌎 here. 3)This is really an etiquette/lifestyle manual more than a cookbook/memoir. Somewhere between a pick & a so-so #24B4Monday
Reading Reese's book while watching Handmaids
Reading and sipping whiskey in a tea cup. Rather my concoction‘s in a coffee mug, because it‘s that kind of “I missed you so much #FriYay.”
