I usually have a range of books ready for the #24in48 #readathon, but I'm currently on a Robin Hobb binge.

I doubt I'll be able to focus on anything until I finish re-reading the Farseer and Tawny Man trilogies.

WHY do I seek out pain and heartbreak? Why, why, why?

Oof. This series. This author.

This is the first time I've re-read it in over a decade and I love it even more now than I did the first time.

But ohmyGOSH, is this a painful series to get through. And it probably doesn't help that I feel as strongly as I do for all these characters.

It's so rare for me to sit down *with a book I've read before* and still find it captivating, original, and heartbreaking.

On to book 3. Bring on the pain.

I really love how Neil Gaiman blurs the line between reality and fantasy - it's beautiful, it's subtle, and leaves the atmosphere around you tinged with a hint of the magical for days after reading any of his books.

Definitely recommend picking this one up. :)

I am mentally and physically exhausted by this you-owe-it-to-me-to-tell-me trope. And this whole pining for someone unattainable, with the subsequent angst, guilt, and drama that accompanies it.

Also, can we just please have a book where good friends just STAY good friends? Is that really so much to ask for? 😟

This was my first book of 2017, and not at ALL what I expected it to be. Read this as part of #boutofbooks and ended up completing a #readharder task in the bargain! Love when things work out that way.

The book - a good, quick read. But it's not something I'd recommend if you want that fuzzy-happy-drowning-in-pages feeling.
