pickAlthough it's a little clunky in places---the POV in the first section switches so often and with so little difference between character voices that it's hard to keep track, and sometimes the plot twists make the story feel a bit like riding in a car with an automatic transmission driven by a two-footed driver---the story overall is enjoyable. I love that it's set in Kansas. What a lovely change of pace!
pick4 ⭐ This book was wonderful. It was rhyming fun. The cadence was spot on. The story was entertaining. This would be great fun at storytime. Between the story itself and all the sound words that kids will get into and want to beatbox along with. Add some colorful, exciting illustrations and I‘m surprised I haven‘t heard more about this book.
pick4 ⭐ This book was a little long, but it needed to be. This is for an older kid at bedtime. Posey loves the story of monsters read to her every night by her dad and she knows exactly how to take care of them. If only her parents could get her to stay in bed. But can pose defeat the zombies? This book was a lot of fun and the illustrations are fantastic.

I was nervous about how this story would go since I‘ve tried to read some Twisted Tales and they didn‘t keep me engaged, but this one was fantastic.
