Please don't break my heart, book! 😇🩵
So nice to back in Buckkeep again!
Oh Fitz you make so many mistakes, but I loved his journey with the Fool wrapping up The Tawny Man trilogy. For those unaware, Robin Hobb is a major undertaking and you don‘t start here. This series is worth it though, beautiful writing, an amazing world and fantastic characters. 5⭐️ Next up the Rain Wilds-but probably next year. 😎

My 2023 Reading Bracket is complete. It was very hard choosing between Mistborn, A Curse of Krakens, Changes and Fool‘s Fate. All of them were favorites this year but Fool‘s Fate edged out just slightly for the win 🥇

Halfway through my 2023 reading bracket for favorite book of the year. I wonder if anything in the second half of the year will be better than Fool‘s Fate 🤔

Moving right along with this trilogy within the greater series and loving every minute. Robin Hobb has such an amazing way of sucking you into this elaborate world with fully fleshed out characters without slogging you down with too much description. She gives you just enough to let your imagination run free 🥰

A monster of a finale - buckets of action, great character development, fascinating interactions (especially Fitz and the Fool) dragons getting frisky, heart-break (and corresponding heart-mend!) and a nice mix of satisfying AND frustrating resolutions. Whole trilogy has just been ultra absorbing - to maintain the relentlessly good writing over 2000 pages is no mean feat. High quality fantasy entertainment.
Ripping through this trilogy, it's just a joy. Starting the last installment today.
Lots of different covers for this book - I like this one a lot.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ There is nothing I can say to justify how wonderful this book is. It was gripping from start to finish. I lost so much sleep while I was reading this as I just couldn‘t put it down. I mean, sigh: 🖤 Fitz and the Fool (our beloved always), and the culmination of the last 9 books rolled into this epic conclusion. Superb. 💗
I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.
Join the fun if you want. This is day 54.

Oh Robin Hobb, you‘ve touched my heart deeply yet again.
The conclusion of the third trilogy in this world had me on the edge of my seat for most of the book. As soon as Fitz and friends reached Icefyre the dragon‘s island prison, I wanted to do nothing but read. The Fool, Beloved, will always be my beloved.
If you love high fantasy and you‘re looking for a series you could lose yourself in for years, this is it. Seriously. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hobb is an extremely talented storyteller - the best! She has created again a novel that slowly grabs hold of you - and doesn't let you go! She balances giving us so much detail as well as keeping the plot pace tight and engrossing. I love how she can give us a really satisfyingly complex novel, with competing characters, fascinating themes and challenging relationships - whilst entertaining and giving pure joy.
“Dragons at a distance are amazing and noble creatures of legend. My closer experience of them makes me suspect they‘d burp nobly after consuming me!” 🤣
“It was play, pure and simple. Play that id had no time for, that I had dismissed as unnecessary and an interruption to all the practical tasks of a well ordered life. When had I lost sight of taking simple pleasure for the sake of pleasure?”.
In amongst the current stresses and chaos - find happiness in play fellow Littens 💕💕💕

1. Bellatrix Lestrange
2. I understand why authors do it , but I hate it when they skip from one character to another and we‘re left waiting half the book to get back to that little cliff hanger 🤦🏻♂️😂
3. Robert Jordan - The Wheel of Time.

That‘s my afternoon sorted!
The last few books I‘ve read I‘ve flown through - so now I‘m craving something to hold me for a while. Time to get back to The Realm of the Elderlings - I‘m starting now on book 9.... taking these slow as I never want them to end!
I‘ve quite a way to go before I get to this book in the Realm of the Elderlings series. Only time will tell if he is a #poormisguidedfool or not. 🤨

I absolutely love Hobb‘s Realm of the Elderlings series. This was the final book of the Tawny Man Trilogy, and the 9th in the 16 book series. Hobb‘s writing is so enjoyable and I always feel as though I‘m visiting with old friends. She has a tendency to put her characters through the worst, but things mostly turn out fine in the end. Realm of the Elderlings as a series is far better than The Wheel of Time IMO. Start at the beginning. 5⭐️ #2019
His head in a cloud
The man with a foolish grin is talking perfectly loud
But nobody wants to hear him
They can see that he's just a fool
But he never gives an answer🎶

Good job I brought my own reading material.... unfortunately no purchases made at this very large and well stocked Bookshop! That‘s a first! Maybe I should only shop in Finnish Bookshops...my bank account would like that! #bookishproblems
As with all Hobb's series set in this world, I enjoyed every moment. I read the series out of order, (after The Farseer Trilogy I actually skipped to Fitz and the Fool), but am happy to have went back to read this trilogy. I think I may buy these books so I can revisit these characters.
⭐⭐⭐⭐☄
So people - what‘s your thoughts on reading a series....do you read all the books in one go, maintaining momentum or do you space it out over time??? #readingadvice
The edition Amazon sent me of the Tawny Man trilogy is NOT the edition they claimed it was (bottom)! 😠 The edition I received is the one with the front covers I really dislike. Only my fellow Littens could understand the irrational irritation. 😉
Now I have to return them and probably order used copies of the ones I want.

There are moments in this book where the characters must think #ohnonotyouagain. Some people just keeps popping up when you dob‘t want them to 🙄

1. So hard to choose. Basically I cry reading any of her books, for many reasons, but this one had a death that really hit hard.
2. Plaid!!!
3. Cheese.

I was reading the last hundred pages of this book while on break at work, and had to stop reading because I was about to cry and I didn't want to start sobbing in the break room. Finished it as soon as I got home and sobbed for a good 20 mins. Such a good book. Highly recommend not just this series, but everything by this author.
I have read a lot of great series this year, but this was the #bestconclusiontoaseries I read. Everything just came together, and I tell you, the feels, THE FEELS!

Ok so I'm still emotionally distraught 24 hours after finishing. 😭😭😭 What a fantastic, fantastic book.
Onto the last one in this trilogy! I'm so anxious about this...
The Fool from Robin Hobb's series could be a #Casper - very pale (at least in the beginning), very friendly towards some special people and no one really knows where he comes from. 👻

@Lizpixie has made it to 1000 followers (which is understandable, because she posts some awesome stuff!), and she is doing a giveaway! #1000PixieDust
Robin Hobb and her books always make me happy - I love an author that can write long books, which keep me hooked all the way through, who can write amazing characters, and who can make a fantasy world that I keep wanting to return to. If you haven't read Robin Hobb, you should! 📚👏
GAAAH, does that title + blurb sound ominous or what?
Robin Hobb is easily one of my favourite authors, and I'm in awe of how she weaves her magic with all the books I've read so far.
But. She's not exactly gentle with her characters. 😖

My #bestofJuly 📚 not all of these were 5 star reads, but the reading experiences I had with all of these were amazing! From revisiting Fitz and the Fool, to reading both The Vegetarian and Nightwaking during the #24in48 readathon, to finishing the ACOTAR books in four days. I just couldn't narrow it down right now.
#JubilantJuly
Wauw! Yes. Yaassss. All the words. The feels! I can't even write, I just can't even. The perfect ending to a perfect series. ❤️❤️❤️
#Itwasagoodday today - I got to read outside because the weather was for once really great. This book just keeps getting better, and I can't wait to find out what happens in the last 100 pages, but also I don't want it to end 🌞
#90sinJuly
I have around 300 pages left of this amazing book, but it feels like I have reached the main point of the book already. I don't know how Hobb will fill out the last part, but I am so excited to find out! 👏

So I do genuinely like this books (Tears We Cannot Stop). I will say I feel uncomfortable with/dislike the constant reference to preaching and sermonizing. I get it... I'm just personally allergic to religion. ANYWAY can anyone who has read lots of Robin Hobb tell me why I keep getting super distracted that he keeps calling the reader(s) beloved??
