"I love rules and I love following them; unless that rule is stupid."
I think many will agree with me when I say this was nothing revolutionary but I enjoyed it.

Listened to this in the car on a cross continent trip from Los Angeles to Toronto. I have a daughter who is in “the biz” and this is an interesting perspective. I‘ve always liked Anna Kendrick as a performer and this book makes it seem like she really doesn‘t hide her true self. I love how real she is, and with real people problems and a normal family. No sob stories. Just hard work.
So Anna...... can we like be best friends already??
My Rating: 5/5 (Audiobook)
If you enjoyed Anna in the Pitch Perfect movies, A Simple Favor, Lip Sync Battle, her Twitter posts, or any of her other projects, you will enjoy this book. She is every bit as sarcastic, quirky, and neurotic as you'd expect, and it makes for a very interesting read. ❤
I thought this was hilarious. I love her sense of humor.

This was my second/final audiobook completed & I almost forgot to post this🤦🏻♀️🤣
I enjoy listening to celebrities read their own books. This was enjoyable. I adore Anna Kendrick. She‘s ok with being who she is and doesn‘t care if it bothers someone. First goal for #dashingdecember complete and book number 2! 3.5/5🌟
This was just barely a pick. It was enjoyable and I even laughed a few times. Anna Kendrick did a great job reading this, there were just some sections that felt like they didn't quite fit with the other stories she shared.
Anna Kendrick's autobiography is a humorous read and I'm sure that it would be well loved by her huge fan base, but for me, I'm sorry to say that it wasn't that interesting or memorable - 2 stars.
My full review is up on my blog now 📚
I was literally laughing out loud at home alone in my bed reading this. Really good light hearted humor that endears me to Anna Kendrick even more than I already was. I‘ll definitely be lending this out to my friends!
Not sure what I was expecting but I think I got more than I bargained for. The early parts of the book seemed to drag on, possibly because I could not relate to it. But later I loved the “inside baseball” reveal and the witty and sarcastic insights on life, chauvinism, theater and the movie industry. There is a near meandering quality that sometimes makes you feel that you are in on a manic session. That‘s a plus and a minus. Overall I liked it.
Just finished this gem and love how ‘nice‘ she is in it. For those who have read it of course I mean nice I‘m the witty, sarcastic, and unapologetic way this is written. Most actors and actresses with memoirs try hard to be relatable with readers; Kendrick had me at mentioning Yellow Rat Bastard in NYC.

A fun, fast read. Didn‘t realize how long she‘d been acting, how many stage shows and movies she‘d done, or how many things I‘d seen her in. Seems like a pretty down to earth, genuine sort of person. She speaks her mind and makes no apologies for it.

I knew this was gonna be a 5 star even before I read it. It was hilarious and dirtier than I anticipated so definitely dont listen to this out loud. It made 100x better that she narrated it herself. She is hilarious.
Happy Friday All! Got my audiobook on at work and my coffee so I can get sh*t done!
I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe during the Coronavirus outbreak! Unfortunately my selections for Graphic Novel and "title begins with M" are in quarantine at my county library, so going to be reading a book with a green cover next! What are y'all reading during this period of social distancing?
Anna Kendrick is insightful, relatable and... a revelation! Enjoyed reading her memoir on a ~5 hr flight home.
Third audio book ever and I think I‘m finally getting the hang of it! Anna reads this herself and is very funny - it‘s like listening to a friend telling you all of her most embarrassing and proud moments.

Is it March 9 yet?! I have so many audiobooks waiting for me!!
I didn‘t realize that I was a Kendrick fan until I reflected on all the things she has done that I truly love. Up in the Air. Last Five Years. Trolls. In interviews, she comes off as quirky and down to earth. It‘s more of the same in this book which makes me like her even more.
3.5 🌟🌟🌟
Enjoyable and funny, especially the book club notes at the book‘s end, but nothing extraordinary. It took be a bit to adjust to Kendrick (and her voice) as the narrator, and the book isn‘t clearly or well-organized as a memoir/autobiography, but she comes across as sincere and “real,” as she offers readers a self-deprecating glimpse into her life and rise in Hollywood.
LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was never really a big fan of Anna. I liked her movies, but I didn't know what to think of her. I'd heard this was a funny bio so I thought I'd give it a shot. I didn't regret it at all. It was so funny and a great perspective on a starting movie/broadway career.

I finished 5 📚 this past week, but kept to 2 genres: non-fiction and graphic novels. When I have a heavy NF reading month, I always like to balance it out with lighter reads that I can get through in one sitting!
All of these were on my weekly forecast except the 2nd Enchanted book!
I love Anna Kendrick, and her memoir is a fun, sometimes serious, romp inside her brain.

Took an easy little scenic ride on my Peloton while 🎧 to this book. Looks like I just had a 24 hr bug; feeling fine today!
I may have MOO‘d when the 🐄 🐄 popped up in the video. 😂
Maya‘s winter break starts tomorrow!
With a ravenous 12 yr old in the house and in-laws arriving in a few days for Chanukah, this means today is mass grocery shopping, and cleaning out the pantry and fridge to make room for all the snacks that an almost-teen and her friends need to survive. 🤣🤣 Round 2 shopping for fresh produce and meats will happen Monday.
These two 🎧 books are keeping me company today!
OK, I‘ll buy it. Yes she came from a normal home and made it. She really made it to Hollywood and now is a critically acclaimed actress. Although I‘m not sure I would call it normal to send your two teenagers to New York alone, but hey maybe I‘m wrong. I found her stories amusing and I hope that she really is down to earth as she screams that she is. Book 43 of 2019.
I listened to the audio book version of this. Driving to and from work every day with Anna Kendrick talking to you the whole way had been pretty awesome! I love how down to earth and real she is. Lots of great stories and humor.
"Maybe we all have imposter syndrome and perpetually feel like our real life is right around the corner". -Anyone else find it refreshing to hear celebrities have similar thoughts and feelings as we do?
#BookReport and #WeeklyForecast
I only finished two books this week, one of which was a long-awaited hold so it wasn‘t on my weekly forecast. So some repeats for this week!
I am thankful for this Litsy community for all their talk of listening to books while they do random things because my world has been blown wide open. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Anna tell me her story
I have of course misplaced the headphones that came with my phone ( iPhone XR) so none of my stock pile work. Most of the time I listen to my audio book in the car so it doesn‘t matter that I just let it play out loud. Same when I‘m on the treadmill in my basement. But, I need another option. I can‘t handle $329 for real earbuds but these look nice and are under $40 🤔
I got totally stuck in traffic today because of a train stopped blocking a major north/south roadway ( welcome to London, Ontario where the city thinks level train crossings are acceptable 🤦🏻♀️) but I have my audio book habit going strong so I don‘t even care 😆and I still got to the bakery for these beauties
Scrappy Little Nobody is funny, quirky and endearing. It's always interesting learning about a celebrity's history. I had no idea that Anna Kendrick got her start as a child star. I have read quite a few celebrity memoirs in the past month and they all are pretty similar, but I appreciate her voice and realness. Her slight sarcasm and quirky humor are similar to my own, so I may have found it funnier than most.
“Because small talk makes me feel like the world is on fire”
This is so me too! Haha! Great, funny ready. Love her.
Finished this while #audiowalking tonight. I‘ve always liked Anna Kendrick‘s fast talking and awkwardness, so this was a more enjoyable celebrity book than most. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ since it‘s read by her.
Today, I‘ve been much more productive than yesterday or Monday. Went to get an oil change for my car, so I read part of European Travel for the Monstrous Gentlewoman. After I got back to my town, I went ahead and took a walk (2nd walk of #BFCr3). Started tagged book in car and continued on walk. I like this one so far.
Since I‘m packing around a 700-pg book, someone had to point out how big it is, of course. Twice. 🙄
My daughter turned 19 today. She got some books. I happened to also get some books in the mail so, on a whim, we made a video! https://youtu.be/XuL3lyU8sG4
Could relate to author more since she's closer to my age than a lot of celeb memoir-writers. Not quite as much meat to this book as others I've read of late but still enjoyable. (Audio)
