Low pick. Finished in June. This is more of a fall read, set around Halloween and Samhain. Cate is a hedge witch and her coven has been lying to her. Matthew shows up at her house and helps her plan a Halloween party while learning more about her magic.

Finished in June. This was technically a reread but does it count as a reread if you remember zero things that happened in the book? Originally read it in 2018.

There were some holes in the plot, but overall I really liked this book and plan to continue the series.

Yay! I finished a book. I have been struggling to read this month. We had vacation in the beginning and work has been crazy.

This was my #bookspin for the month. Juliette Cross writes many different types of books and stories. This one is about Una who is a light fae, gets captured and tortured and once saved, her father starts a war. Goll knows his destiny is to overthrow his father and rule the world. It is a Romantasy.

The next book in the Lane Winslow series has them heading to Mexico to find Darlings brother. Of course they run into someone from Lane‘s past and work with the war. This one was really good! I hope she keeps writing them.

Randomly picked this up on KU. I actually really liked this Romantasy. The romance part took WAY TOO Long! Like 80% into the book. The world building was interesting and the different monsters were fun. I will definitely pick up the next book.

Finished this book on vacation in Memphis. It was interesting. The 4 horsemen show up on earth and electricity and other things as we know it, stop working. Then they go away for 5 years and Pestilence shows up. He appears to only be riding throughout Canada and US. He kidnaps Sara and punishes her for a bit. She then starts to turn him a bit human and romance things happen. I‘m not sure if I‘ll read the rest of the books in the series.

Help me pick a book to bring on vacation!

I‘m going to read a chapter of each of these and see which one I want to bring on vacation!

I typically bring one physical book and my kindle! My kindle is loaded up with Romantasy, dark romance and fantasy.

This is the 2nd book in the Last Vampire Queen series. This one ended in such a big cliffhanger! I‘m so upset. This picked up right where the first book ended off. Sophie is building up her powers, wants to save her guys and the other vampire queens. Now I need the next book to come out.

This was really good! Romantasy, magic, old gods, an evil prince bent on gaining power. This ended in a nice conclusion. It seems like it‘s going to be a series, but it didn‘t end in a cliffhanger and could be read as a standalone.

This was my May #doublespin pick.

Low pick. I might be over Katherine center? The last couple of books of hers, I haven‘t loved. I can‘t put my finger on what it was, but 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I saw this author scrolling through tiktok (which I don‘t do very often). She said if you wanted Bella to choose both Edward and Jacob.

Though this is NOTHING like twilight. It has shifters and vampires, that‘s the only similarity. It‘s a why choose romance. The world building was just getting started. You learn while she learns. And this book is very smutty.

Finished this one on 5/4. I started in April and it was a bit of a struggle for me to read. It was a really uncomfortable subject matter and the vet stuff was a bit triggering for me (with losing our dog last year). So it‘s a low pick for me.

My flowers are not doing so well after the storm yesterday. They lost all their petals!

Finally received my May #botm books!

They gave me a free credit for the delay, so that was nice of them. The sprayed edges are pretty cool. Now to find time to read them.

This book was recommended to me book riot #mytbr.

It‘s not the type of romance I was expecting. Kiki is a college student who has a very popular radio show. A new student comes and disrupts everyone‘s flow. She ends up in a fake relationship (that was never actually fake). This book was a bit dramatic with different cliques and drama. And it was a bit long. Overall I liked it.

June #roll100 picks !! Looking forward to both of these books.

Low pick. This was a bit long and I don‘t like long romances. Rosie gets sexually harassed by her boss and then fired, so she goes back home to her small town. Ford is from a rich family, but earns his own money and decides to start his own business in this small town. Rosie and Ford reconnect after 10 years and romance ensues.

I decided to read this authors backlist after picking up the Never List. This book has some of the same elements but is also different enough I was able to enjoy it. I‘ll definitely be picking up the rest of the books in this series.

Book 8 in the vampire knitting club book. Cozy mystery, a wedding, murder and witchcraft.

Finished on 5/12/25.

This was a low pick, but will continue the series. This is pure smut with a bit of plot. They are sex wizards, so they have to perform different types of sex acts to conjure magic. Dom comes to a magical school with a letter of introduction and you learn everything as he does.

So not only did #botm make me pay $3 for a special edition. I now have to wait all month to get my books…

I‘m not sure I would have actually gotten to them in May, but I‘m now worried they‘ll get delivered while I‘m away on vacation…

It‘s been a while since I‘ve read a smutty book on audio. every time smutty things were happening the hubby would walk in. 😆

I really liked this one. Set in the UK, Dina is a kitchen witch and imbues magic into her baked goods. Her best friend is getting married at a country house and her friends keep trying to set her up with Scott. She doesn‘t date because there is a hex on her and everyone she dates ends up getting hurt.

Omg! I loved this book. It‘s been a while since I‘ve stayed up late to read a book. It‘s a why choose romance with 4 dudes, 1 girl. They‘re all Prince‘s and looking for their mate. Every year they have a choosing party and pick 1 person. Rylee spends 1 month with each guy to get to know them before deciding to go through with the ceremony that makes her immortal. There is also magic and goddesses and powers. Loved it!

I picked this up finally, trying to get those goodreads bookmarks. It‘s been on my TBR for a while now. This is a low pick. It‘s a completely different kind of fantasy. They eat books instead of food. The women are kept from really knowing anything and are required to birth 2 children but are forced to leave them after 3 years. The story is told from the present and flashes back to her as a kid, giving birth and why she‘s where she is at now.

This picture is too flowery for the contents in this book. This book is dark, which I did not realize but should have because of the TW. Elowen has been through some stuff! And she has never showed anyone her true self until Cayden. They torture people together and kill people and show no remorse. They‘re set on vengeance. This book doesn‘t end on a cliffhanger. But the next book is coming out in July and I can‘t wait.

Is it just me or are romances super long now?

This book is about 2 people helping each other get over the person they‘ve loved for a long time. Fake dating which quickly turns to real dating. Marcela is a librarian, so a lot of great book talk. Marcela also has abandonment issues because he dad left her mom when she was a kid and that affects all her relationships. So she has a lot of stuff to figure out.

I actually ended up really enjoying it. I‘m going to pick up the next one too! A tea monk goes into the wilderness, because they feel they‘re missing something and meets a robot.

I finished this one this week. I picked it up because it was a quick read and I wanted to read a book for the Her Story challenge on goodreads.

I don‘t listen to this podcast. I don‘t know these women, so I don‘t feel fair rating the book.

Finally starting to pick up Nancy Drew books again. Finished this one earlier this week. This one was okay. Lots of golf and of course Nancy is amazing at golf, even with an injured hand. This one wasn‘t too ridiculous, so it was enjoyable. Though she just happened to find the treasure chest a guy was looking for, for years.

Finished this one last week. It was pretty good and a quick read. Though there was A LOT of Accounting talk. Like I get she was an accountant, so she talked about her job and that was her problem with her family, but still. I‘m not sure why her family was so hard on her for being an accountant. You have someone that can do your taxes in the family!!

Overall, fake dating a vampire you don‘t know is a vampire. Trapped in a blizzard alone. 👍🏻

It‘s spring! My daffodils have finally bloomed. 🥰

This book was a fun, quick read. I‘m glad they only used the “word” “lol” once in the book. It also had THE LONGEST epilogue! Other than that, the story was pretty good. I think this is only my second Christina Lauren book.

Book 7 in the series. A tv show/crew is coming to the knitting shop to film a tv show. And of course one of the students is murdered. This one was a real who dunnit. I was surprised by who the killer was. I really like this series. It makes me want to learn to knit, but let‘s be honest, I‘ll be just as bad as Lucy!

This was an interesting book and really good on audio. I‘m glad it was picked for this month. This book is about clinical depression and trauma, with fairytale whimsy swirled in.

This series is the kids of the last series. I like that series better, but I‘ll continue on with this one. Ronan moves to New Orleans and meets Celine. Celine is the daughter of Mateo and Evie from the first book. So she has a very overprotective family. It‘s them starting a new relationship. Ronan getting into the local cage fighting and trying to deal with getting in touch with his wolf.

Low pick. This one was a bit too long. It was a lot of fun though. There was a hit v show on the TW about a werewolf cop solving crimes. Devin is all of a sudden showing the same symptoms as his character. He finds Alex‘s website from years ago and goes to Florida for help. It‘s a romance, but it‘s also about both of them figuring out what they want.

Book 6 in this series. Violet is a fortune teller at the fair and keeps giving people bad but true fortunes. One of the people she gave a fortune to dies at the fair and now Violet is under suspicion. They‘re all accusing her of being a witch (she is). So Lucy needs to find the killer to save her cousin.
