The Fade Out Vol. 2 | Ed Brubaker

Pickpick

33/100 The mystery deepens as our writer "hero" foolishly falls in love with the actress hired to replace the other actress. Plenty of secrets come out, dirty tricks, sexual assaults, perversions, scandals the studio is willing to kill to keep quiet. Charlie, the writer, is too drunk most of the time to realize the real danger he is involved in. 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

The groups start to arrive in Boulder and Las Vegas. New relationships form as old bonds strain. I am reminded of a bit from comedian Lee Camp: Evil people have plans. Good people don't have plans. They want to live their lives in peace and enjoy themselves. Well, the evil people here are crucifying rule breakers and gathering weapons while the good guys are trying to build a coalition by committee.

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Well, that video is certainly correct. Sadly, I just want to be around good people, easy good food, and meet ALL the dogs. 1w

Red Hulk
Green Hulk
Blue Hulk
Crayola Box Hulk

Hulk has never been a fave superhero of mine but Hoopla was giving free borrows for multiple Jeph Loeb titles.

This was one. It‘s basically a graphic urination contest among Rainbow Hulks, Iron Man, Thor, the Fantastic Four & other cast members.

Decent read but it‘d be better if you had a decent amount of background info on the Marvel superheroes stable.

I'm really digging the song "Magnetic" from the upcoming solo debut album of Tunde Adebimpe, founding member of TV on the Radio. The single was released a few months ago, a new single just dropped yesterday, and the album comes out next month.

TheKidUpstairs OOh, I love TV on the Radio, and I loved him in Rachel at the Wedding. I'll definitely have to check this out! 3w

Volume 1&2 of the graphic novel adaptation of The Stand.
I'm actually impressed at how well the story is paced so far. For example, they don't waste a lot of pages on Nick's time as deputy, but they leave space for scenes like Lloyd's prison time and the Lincoln Tunnel to breathe. The artist is the same that recently underwhelmed me with heavy lines and thick shadows in The Bat-Man First Knight, and he's still not my favorite, but it happens.

Read 3 of my #ReadYourEbooks picks for February. Even if my Ms. Marvel book slot for March isn‘t selected, I suspect I‘ll be continuing with her journey.

Loved Ms. Marvel, issues 1-5

I think editor Sana Ananat wrote it best when describing this comic and its readers:

“–it was clear that you guys got it. By now you should have realized that this book isn‘t a marketing ploy, nor does it come with political agendas. It‘s just a story about a young girl maneuvering her way to adulthood, who also happens to reflect the changing face of America.”
