This is a coming of age story of a girl who is supposed to be an alien. The coming of age aspect was good but it kind of lost me with the alien thing. Was she really an alien, though? Or was she just a girl who felt like an outsider? 3 ⭐️

First attempt of making ciabatta bread from the Turkuaz Kitchen book. 🤗
We're going to use these for our burgers today.
I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. I had no idea that tulips were a big deal in the Netherlands. I was amazed at the obsession of the main character. It was a good story, but it did lose me at parts. 3.5 ⭐️

I tend to read children's books for comfort reads. My first pick is the Harry Potter series then I read The Story of Ferdinand.

Another great read!
I enjoyed all of the celebrities that were in the book and it was interesting to see a different perspective of WWII through the eyes of these glamorous people. 4⭐️

Just came in!
I believe this is from you, @@TheAromaofBooks
Thank you!!!!
I was so busy with work that I didn't realize that I was almost done with the book until the happy ending. 😅
This was a fun read! I enjoyed the characters, the plot, and the setting. I give it 4 ⭐️

So...apparently, I haven't read many of the books listed, but here are my top 3:
1. Bless Me, Ultima
2. The Bluest Eye
3. The Color Purple

From the list, my top 3 are:
1. Island of the Blue Dolphins
2. The Giver
3. Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry

I can see what the hype was all about with this book. This was a great re-imagining of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, but through Jim's point-of-view. Though this book was listed under humor, I didn't find funny. It was more tragic than anything else. What Jim and other slaves went through was just horrible. However, I loved Jim's determination to save his family. I give it 4 ⭐️.

Thank you, @LiseWorks, for leading our group!
I'm so proud that I was able to read many of the prompts each month and I had so much fun!

I read 61 out of 60 books this year! Yay!
I have no idea how I did it. It was a very hectic and emotional year, so I am proud of myself for making time to read.
I'm keeping the same goal of 60 books for 2025. I am sending positive vibes for this new year.
Oh my goodness! I did it! I wasn't sure I was going to be able to finish this book while on vacation.
This was my first book in the Discworld series. There was a lot of world building and strange things happening. I admit, I was confused the majority of the time. I enjoyed the wit, the setting, and how it ended. But for the life of me, I can't explain what the story was about. 3⭐️

I'm in Mexico City right now and found this cute bookstore next to the lake Chapultepec 😍
I had some great reads this year, but The Lion Women of Tehran was my top read for 2024.
I wonder what my top read will be in 2025?

Hmmm...I enjoyed the Finnish setting and the Ginish lifestyle of this book, but I was not fond of the main character. She was annoying and kept making dumb decisions. Her live interest, Tommy, could have done better. 3 ⭐️

Reading outside on this beautiful, sunny Southern California day. It's a perfect time to try out my new Kobolibra Color with the tagged book.

This was so much fun!
It was a great who-done-it Christmas book that had me engrossed from beginning to end. The audio production of this book was well done and I absolutely love the cover. 4.5 ⭐️

Okay, this was a cute story. A young boy was having a tough time after his parents divorced, and his only consolation was his toy pig. The fantasy world that he woke up to was fun. It really put into perspective what we value in life. 4 ⭐️
