so-soReads more like an anthology of short stories instead of a novel, although it does tie characters/theme/plot line throughout the story breaks. An insight into the plight of women‘s expectations and roles in India and how he underscore of their resilience and hint of change and revolution coming in the future. Beautiful prose but not my personal cup of tea.
pickI started this on kindle years ago but gave up. I tried it again on audio for book club and it was okay. I couldn‘t stop thinking about the man‘s son who he left alone and grieving. Low pick.

In March 1996 three separate groups were caught out not far from the summit by a severe storm. This is a detailed account of the climb & an examination of the factors which led to the tragedy & leaves the reader wondering if such exploration is really worth the cost in lives.
pickI‘m growing on Sarah Lotz. While listing to another book of hers, I just finished this one. Set from extreme depth to extreme height (caves to Everest), the focus on the psychological/paranormal/trauma of the central characters drew me in. The idea of a shadow, real as a person, but only seen by one. Mind over matter, but the matter of madness extends a hand (even if unwanted).
