Today Slovenia celebrates Culture Day (Prešeren Day). France Prešeren is our greatest poet. His unrequited love for Julia gave him great motivation to write. Despite the fact that he had great criticism and was banned from publishing his poems, he still wrote and today he is important for the development of the Slovene language. It is because of him that today we celebrate Culture Day, which we have named after him.⬇️⬇️

I made Valentine's card. I sent them today. They will probably arrive too late. I'm sorry for that.

Lately I have been enjoying writing and journaling. I plan my week, my activities, the books I've read, the series I've watched, habits tracker, mood tracker... I've been doing #BulletJournal from 2020 (lockdown was to blame for my discovery of a new hobby)😄. I enjoy it, it's relaxing. This year, for the first time, I'm adding drawing doodles (I'm not an artist but I try and do my best-please don't judge). ⬇️⬇️⬇️

We are already in 1st grade. Leja is learning to read. When she comes home from school, she immediately picks up her textbook and practises reading. Otherwise she is still at the beginning where she reads 3 and 4 letters together. But I am so proud of her. As a reward for being so diligent, we take her sledding on Saturday.

One of my favourite writers is Veronica Roth. She will always have a special place on my shelves and in my heart. She opened up the world of dystopia and introduced me to a new genre that won me over. She is a writer I would love to meet and talk to about new worlds and futures. Fictional, of course. I think it would be fine to re-read this series.

I love Italian cuisine. Especially pasta. My favourite is spaghetti. I eat them all the time, not only in winter. These are with tomatoes and ricotta.

I like seasonal covers. In winter I like to read a book with winter adventures and activities. This one particularly appealed to me because it is set in the Alps. Part of the Alps are also in Slovenia (my country), which makes it more interesting for me to read. I assume it will be set in the Swiss or Austrian Alps, which are much more popular. And hot chocolate goes well with a winter book.

The first book I read this year is The Woman in Cabin 10. I had it on my shelf for a long time and finally decided to read it. I was immediately sucked into the story. With every chapter I was more surprised. I really did not see it coming. Especially not this ending. It was really quite a surprise. However, the story is missing a little something to give it a fifth star.

My favourite books I read last year were Divine Rivals and Remarkably Bright Creatures. Both books touched me. On the one hand, the love story between Iris and Roman. On the other, the unique friendship between Tova and Marcellus. Characters you care about and remember. I highly recommend both!

As a teenager, I started reading Famous Five books and today my love for books is only growing. These are my overflowing bookshelves. Even the shelf in front of the wardrobe has a pile. I have plans for new shelves this year and I hope I can make it happen.

I am thinking about my goals, my vows for 2025. I have drawn a line and stopped looking at the past. It's time to make the future better, no matter what I do differently. Maybe I'll read unfinished books, maybe I won't. Why do I even bother with this? I don't know yet. I hope I manage to read these 24 books from my bookshelf at home. Hi! I wasn't very active last year. I wasn't posting. I didn't read many books either. I can say it was the worst reading year. Especially the last half. I started reading a lot of books that I didn't finish. But not because they weren't good. Mostly because I didn't have the motivation. I was doing a lot on myself. Would like to finish the unfinished books (maybe not all of them). But in any case, the goal is to read more books than last year.⬇️

I've noticed people on the beach reading Colleen Hoover, Sarah J. Maas, scandinavian noirs and historical fictions.

I'm so sorry I didn't post this later. We had a crazy time. Went from emergency room to pediatric klinic...Thank God we are okay and feeling much better now. Then I had to pack for my holiday at the last minute because we had already paid for the reservation.

I didn't post for a while. Didn't have motivation. My love got injured and his dad died in the spring. We've had a tough time. But we're okay now. I was in a reading slump. Started reading some easy romance translated in slovenian. The best reading corner is outside in a hammock chair. Also my daughter finish pre-school kindergarten and in Seprember she'll start first grade. She's growing up so fast.💕🥰

I had the whole #SundayAfternoon #hyggehourreadathon 😍 The weather was perfect and hot (summer is finally here), daughter was at neighbour house played with their kids. I read On Guard by J.R. Gray & Andi Jaxson. It was so spicy and suspense and dark as I like it so I couldn't put it down until I got to the last page.💙🩵💙🩵

We cut out eggs from paper and drew on them. Leja painted 2 wooden eggs. I played with thread and a needle and created some unique decorations. 🐣
We also baked our traditional dessert called Potica (we chose the coconut flavour).
