READ TRIGGER WARNINGS!!!
okay. so. i dont know whether it‘s just love it. or whether i hate it.
Alright, this book did not disappoint. It was interesting to read the other side of Satan‘s Affair and see both sides of the characters, their thoughts, and how they became the people they are. I‘m excited for the next book as I think it‘s going to add more action and intrigue in!
4.6⭐️ OMG! This was nothing like I expected. I like to go into some of my books completely blind, not knowing what to expect. Though I do have some expectations. This one was a recommendation, and I thought I was reading a horror story, which I guess I kind of was. And I‘m not gonna lie, it had me in a chokehold… No pun intended. Anyways, this is also a dark romance. Please check your trigger warnings if you decide to read it.
So I was unsure of how I was going to feel going into this book, considering the trigger warnings and such. But as hard as some of it was to read, the way the author wrote it, and just the storyline itself, I couldn't not finish it. I wouldn't recommend reading it if you're in a down mood of any sort, definitely makes you think, and it does have it's moments where you will be like "what did I just read?"
I definitely get the messed up type of this book. Lots of triggers but it was hard not to like it. Definitely reading the next book because I can‘t stop on a cliffhanger. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had to sit for a few minutes after I finished this book it process what I had just read. Wow. I‘m so mad at myself for waiting so long to read this book because it‘s definitely one of my favorites now. While there was quite a bit of dark romance I thought it gave even more thriller vibes which is right up my alley and I loved it. And then there‘s Zaddy. I really need to read the second book like asap because that cliffhanger was infuriating.
This series could‘ve easily been one (shorter) book and I might‘ve rated it higher. It‘s dark, disgusting, spicy and gory, with all the trigger warnings. Glad I read it but definitely glad I‘m done. Do I recommend it? lol I‘m still not sure….
So, so wrong but addictive.
The good -
Well written
That cliffhanger 😱
Great dual narrative
Intriguing stalking storyline
DAYA 🤩
The bad -
Lots of trigger warnings, please check before reading
Addie isn't a likeable heroine
The ugly -
Toxic main character
Glorifys rape culture
Is this the best dark romance book I've read? No
Is it one to recommend to a family member? Absolutely fucking not! 🤣
Did I devour it and need more? I certainly did.
Triggers for sexual abuse and human trafficking. As disturbing as this book is, I could not put it down . It was absolutely riveting.
I‘ve had this book on my radar for a while, I love a good “dark and disturbing” book but I‘m not a fan of romance. Then my 1st grade teacher daughter read it, liked it, told me I shouldn‘t read it, “too explicit” she said. I instantly bought it and now am loving it!
Wow! This my first dark romance book I‘ve ever read. It definitely did not disappoint! I honestly was not expecting it to end on a cliffhanger. Usually I can predict how the end will be, but boy was I wrong! I loved every page of this book. It was both terrifying and fascinating at the same time. 100% worth the hype!
All in all, it was a great read. I just posted my full review on my goodreads 👀🥀💋🖤 can't wait to grab my book mail later when Hunting Adeline arrives! I'm eager to know what happens next.
Book mail! This dark romance has been getting a lot of hype and my curiosity said, "Just buy it". ??♀️
What in the hell.. I want to read book 2 but me and my bestie decided to read it together after I played catchup and passed her and she‘s got to finish this one.. and wait for the 2nd to be delivered..
I loved it but hated it too? Creepy and eerie but also intimate and full of raw emotion. 4 ⭐️ for me! #litsylovereads
A friend who is not a reader recommended this one to me and said she is hooked into the book so of course I had to pick it up.. i have been seeing this book around so when she mentioned it I was intrigued I mean so far it‘s ok
My body is just a vessel that my soul inhabits, attached to a shell that it'll one day leave. And when that day comes, I won‘t care to let that shell go. I carry my body around because I have to, not because it's a choice. But when I possess something meaningful, I‘m choosing to hold on to it. Carrying something meaningful in my skin is effortless but holding onto something that I could lose—that takes devotion."
Book 8 of 2023 This book got alot of hype through Booktok. Now while it is a good book, there is alot of subjects that arent easy to digest. It is definitely a dark romance. The trigger warnings should not be taken lightly and I honestly feel like this book shouldnt be available for free on KU and i believe there should be an age limit on getting the book. An immature mind or one not yet ready for such heavy subjects.
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I finished it but it‘s a two parter and I just didn‘t get into the hype. It left on a serious cliff hanger and I was able to go eh, not worth the extra couple hundred pages to me.
I don‘t know what I was expecting, but this wasn‘t it. Still entertaining and I‘ll probably read the second one.
Update: I haven‘t felt the need to read the second book.
After being on my TBR for so long, I've finally read it, and absolutely fricking loved every page. I devoured this book in a day, I loved the gothic setting of Parsons Manor, the story (check TWs!) and the mystery. The spice was phenomenal and I'm officially in love with Zade. Adeline was a relatable MC and I loved her friendship with Daya. The ending was so good, but that cliffhanger has killed me. I'll definitely be getting book 2 soon!
First book I thought of when I saw today‘s song prompt

I had really high hopes for this book to be somewhat interesting with all the warnings attached to it. I was disappointed when I found myself only enjoying a few chapters. Main woman is just. I guess I would compare her to Murphy‘s law but she‘s so much worse than that. “The Shadow” he‘s and I will stand by this just every edgy anime hero/antihero troupe. I would say read it if you just want cringe. Regardless, I am going to read the second book.

Dang this book was bonkers. Trigger warnings for pretty much everything, but it was super steamy and I actually really liked the story in this one. Diving into book 2 now because I can‘t wait to see what happens a second longer.
Omg what a dumpster fire of a book. And I‘m not even talking about the ‘dark‘ elements I was well warned about (not so much dark as rape glorification). The writing is really bad. The plot is alllllll over the place (is this a ghost story, a crime thriller, a historical mystery, dark erotica? why choose one!), it‘s completely unbelievable, and I absolutely could not stand either of the main characters. Ends with a cliffhanger, but I‘m done.

So this is one of those books that you either LOVE. Or HATE! First off this is dark. I mean midnight black dark. It‘s got a very gothic vibe from the setting to the characters. It‘s spicy and at times incredibly disturbing. This won‘t be for everyone. It took me the better part of a week to finish it. Needed a break at times. Mind the TW‘s. #littensloveromance
I have never been so enraged by a book before.
This novel is vile.
Poorly written.
Encourages rape culture.
I would never recommend this book to anyone and I'm sad I invested 328 pages of my time on this crap. I would be shocked if this was in fact written by a woman and not some pathetic, doughy, single, male.
Stalking, and sexual assault don't create a good foundation for a love story.
"Let me know which stars you prefer." IYKYK?
This book was amazing!! It's a dark stalker romance with TW's galore, and I loved every depraved word on the pages!
Both Addie and Zade are incredible characters and I loved them both - although Daddy Zade *pwoarrr*??
The plot, the twists and turns, the spice, this book has everything and more!
I can't wait to read the 2nd instalment.
⚠️Please remember to always check TW⚠️
it was very scary, and i like how the author wrote dual pov, giving insight to zades feelings too. though i feel it lacked plot. it was easy to figure out what was going to happen next, i feel there was no climax (except in the romance plot) and no resolution. and i understand the the author specifically wrote it to be a cliffhanger, i feel like it could have used more plot twists and surprises.
