#BookReport for the week
@TheAromaofBooks @CBee

TBH highly disappointed in lack of FMC growth & substantial plot in Bond That Burns until the last 25%. At least that is one of my #readyourkindle down for the month. Highly recommend the audiobook for tagged. The narrator was phenomenal! The #netgalley #arc was my favorite. Unique in a genre thats heavily overpopulated now with so much action/political drama.

TheAromaofBooks Great progress!! 2h

Overall, an entertaining but slightly predictable mystery thriller involving amateur sleuths. Very engaging and fast read and I do recommend! 4⭐️

If you're reading this, chances are last year you flipped on the news and saw me getting shoved to my knees in the dirt, hands wrested behind my back, gun-toting FBI agents swarming like abts around me into that three-story house.

This book was phenomenally clever. Not a boring moment in it either. A fictional book based on the Idaho murders? - Count me in!

Ok, I read In My Dreams I Hold a Knife because I liked the title. I didn‘t love it, but I didn‘t hate it either, so, again, because I like the title to her new book, I‘ve decided to listen to it for my #audiowalk. I hope I like it better than her first one.

TheLudicReader I loved the title of her first book, too, but also didn‘t love it. It showed promise, though, so I bought her next one, The Last Housewife, and really liked it and I loved the next one, Midnight is the Darkest Hour, and so I have high hopes for this one. 23h

I think this may be Winstead‘s best book yet! I couldn‘t put it down! Narrator Janeway Sharp finds herself falling down a true crime rabbit hole as a distraction from the grief of suddenly losing her father. With a multimedia feel, & inspired by familiar cases with fresh twists, this riveting read is well-plotted & raises questions on amateur sleuthing, mob mentality & the aftermath of loss. Well-written with lifelike characters & genuine emotion!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The reading experience of this book was completely engrossing and absolutely chilling. The epitome of “unputdownable”. It appeals to the head (interrogating the allure of true crime and the double-edged sword of the online sleuthing community) and the heart (it‘s equally a moving investigation of grief and the compulsion to doggedly search for sometimes unknowable answers). ⬇️

ICantImReading The picture is of the author‘s note at the beginning of the book. I have seen some reviews questioning her reasoning for drawing from real, ongoing cases, and I thought this provided valuable insight on her thought processes and intentions. I do feel a bit conflicted and find the discourse around this to be worthwhile and interesting. (edited) 3w
