So this whole time I thought I had no Litsy notifications. No apparently I do. Boy do I. Just my app doesn't work. Lovely.

How was everyone else's week?
This week mom got out of the hospital and is doing PT at a nursing home. She of course can't wait to get home.
I visited a new library in a neighboring city and it was a beautiful place.
I had a doctor visit to look at X-rays and was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis - something that won't get better and the best to hope is staying the same.

Finished this one up on the way to visit my ma today and this series just keeps going downhill for me. I'm going to try the prequel novels but this one just didn't do it for me much.
Okay, I'm not going to say that reading in this hammock swing is the MOST comfortable thing but I also won't say that it's not either. Been dealing with a lot and it's nice to have this comfy spot to tuck up and read
#LitsyLove
This book took me a long while to get through but it was good. I've always enjoyed Lizzie Borden books since I was a lot younger. This one was very well written and the author does a great job citing each and every source so now I have even more books to look for!
Slowly but surely my journal is being taken over by stickers that are misspelled or look misspelled and I oddly love it
In the saga of my ADD being weird, I asked my wife if she could reach the library books from where she was already getting something. When asked why I said "Because, I Don't Want to Kill You..." before getting distracted.
She was like "uhh... Good but... What?"
Every time I get into this book, here comes the snuggle bug to try and read over my shoulder. At least this is comfortable
Reading Patient Zero while sitting in the ER waiting room with a friend. Perhaps a little too perfect that I'd just picked up this to read
This one was good. Still a pick. But a lot of the series I found is a loop. Everything's fine, something goes wrong, there's a puzzle with 4 parts, they solve the puzzle, there's a bad guy reveal, some family drama, bad guy loses, everything's fine, repeat.
But at least it was JUST different enough to keep my attention and remain a pick.
"My mind is more like a roller coaster inside a labyrinth buried in an MC Escher painting that's riding on another roller coaster..."
"There's no such thing as fighting dirty if you win."
Rushed off to my mom's when we got a phone call of her and stepdad crying and him asking us to come sit with her. Gives a chance to try and read some
Pretty good follow up to the first book. It took me ages to finish while taking my mom to her many appointments but I finally finished. So many twists and turns I didn't see coming
So far so good. I have been really enjoying this book and I'm moving on to the second one soon
This book was pretty good, I couldn't tell who did it until the big reveal at the end. However, it was a lot of speculation and who had divorced who and talks of a colonoscopy and bad hair dye jobs. Overall good if you want a middle aged female main character and all the angst with it but not if you want a murder mystery
Honestly, I just love this book every time I read it and every time I see the movie. The thought of a father having to make that decision about their kid - knowing you could bring them back but also knowing the cost... I couldn't be the one to make it.
I don't expect to end up loving this as much as I did. I think with any other ending, I'd have felt differently, but it wrapped up quite beautifully. Many lines stood out and a few places I left little notes on postits. Thanks to @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks for the chance to read. It's ready to move on any time 💜
TW - mention of suicide
This book didn't start how I expected but I'm enjoying it. I find I can relate a bit too much to Nora. I can't wait to see where this journey takes her
My book journal and I are finally ready for this read from @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
It's taken me ages to actually get to this. I love the highlighter strips, such a great idea
I have to share something different, but I think it has to be the time I was acting like a wierdo (as usual) and my poor frustrated mother went "You could just... Act HUMAN!"
I don't think I've managed it but it's been a funny story to look back on and laugh about with her

Why is this book over 1000 pages?? Guess I'll be here a while
@Mjm1 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
Got this beauty in my box today when I checked the mail. My wife is hiring whoever packed this to help with Christmas! It took ages to get into and she always jokes I open presents too quick 😂
Book 2/100
Buddy reading this with a friend. I'm not sure how I'll feel about it. It's one of Picoult's few that I've never read before. We will see
Book 1/100
Stephen King Challenge is off to a good start with January's pick of Carrie. I've apparently owned my copy since 2011. Although I haven't read it like It or Dreamcatcher which I've had to replace more than once, it's still a good book every time
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
Your package got here and I picked it up today. I had to run in to get it and was able to today. This is gorgeous, I was so excited to see it all wrapped. 💜 Also glad to know my PO box troubles are officially over and I can get cards/packages
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @LiseWorks @Beatlefan129
I got your letters in the mail today when I finally went out
@HeathHof I sent the book and it's estimated 12/12 to be there
For any other #LitsyLove members, my PO Box was broken and I've no idea if any cards were missing because of it or what's going on. But they'll hold any I get from now until it's fixed
Going ahead and giving this recommendation a try. It's a reverse harem but a friend who really knows me recommended it so I hope I will like it.
Finally getting a chance to send out a few replies to letters in got through #LitsyLove
Did I steal my son's dinosaur cards? Why yes, yes I did. Anything to get writing to my friends again.
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @LiseWorks @Beatlefan129
I'm about half through with my book for #LitsyLoveWritesNBooks and I'm enjoying it. It's different than I expected. I also have left an envelope with a note about me and some extra pages for my fellow team mates to tell me about them or whatever they want to share as well, so the letters can stay with the book when I get it back. So excited for all of this😀 @RinaBrahmbhattBarot @iread2much @HeathHof

I could not, would not, can not narrow it to only 4. Blame the two on the left I couldn't decide, so I leave it in your capable hands to pick one or even say you hate them all, I can do this all week I have like 400 books I need to read, I'm sure we can decide on one of them 🤣
This entire year has been slowly sliding downhill until it was like an avalanche. To my #LitsyLove friends, I am so sorry I just fell away. I'd love to come back and write again. Hopefully this year can pick up soon
My crazy dog Little Man enjoying his Christmas flea from @HufflepuffGirl90
He absolutely loves it amd I had to pry it away for the big photo. He stared and stared until I gave it back. He snuggled it for a nap earlier. My son's already run off with his book. My wife has already decided Pennywise will be "NOWHERE NEAR THAT BED" ? We planned for a rough Christmas after struggling with COVID so I cant say thank you enough for the perfect choices.
A huge thanks to @HufflepuffGirl90 for the excellent gifts! Not pictured is delicious candy, bookmarks and a card to go with these books, pins, ornament, a book for my son, Pennywise (who my wife already requested NEVER face our bed) and a flea for my dog. Funny story, he nibbles toys and we always ask if it has fleas, now he has a big flea!
What is it about being sick that makes me crochet like crazy? The COVID is slowly getting better. If I could find some energy and stop coughing Id be good. I havent been reading but certainly been crafting! This is the second scarf since Tuesday.
#WinterGames2021 #TeamGameSleighers @StayCurious
A #HolidayCraft I have been working on while sick. I never knew that being super sick woukd make me want to crochet but here we are, making a scarf. #WinterGames2021 #TeamGameSleighers @StayCurious
Selfie Scavenger Hunt, my favorite place to read is anywhere this fellow can curl up with me. Especially starting this month off COVID positive, I dont feel good and I'll take all the snuggles I can get
#WinterGames2021 #TeamGameSleighers @StayCurious
My TBR for this month might have some more books but I really want to clear my NetGalley shelf before 2022 begins. My wife and I are both COVID positive so what better relaxation than to read?
#WinterGames2021 #TeamGameSleighers @StayCurious

Final tally for #Scarathlon2021 #TeamHendrix @StayCurious
Week 3 I didnt get too much, mostly I didnt feel good so we lounged and watched spooky shows and movies all day. I tried a come back for the end and did pretty good.
So my son was telling his teacher about how we've been watching a TON of spooky stuff and reading spooky books while we packed up my books upstairs and how many I had to keep vs giveaway... Which led to them asking him "Does he have a book about...(random topic here)?" And Im not awake enough for this to be how the day goes.
I might have to ban him from participating in spooky stuff for #Scarathlon2021 with me ???? @StayCurious @CrowvanHalen
I wasnt sure at first how I felt about reading a novel that actually focused on COVID and the quarantine but this one sounds so good, I think I will like it.
#Scarathlon2021 #TeamHendrix @staycurious #Bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks
I really liked this book. I like The Giver so I was sure I would. Apparently there are more that look at some of these characters too? Im gonna need to read those too.
Points update for #Scarathlon2021 #TeamHendrix @staycurious
Not as good this week as last, but I had a decent amount of both migraine and mental health things going on. Im just happy I made it this far.
Jocelyn looked out the passenger side window and thought, This is where you go to receive a head in a box.

Week 1 Points update for #Scarathlon2021 #TeamHendrix
I made it to 9,873 points this week. The first game being anagrams 100% helped with the points this week.
@StayCurious
Been reading a lot of kids spooky books today and yesterday. Now back to my #bookspin list and this is the next one chosen by the wheel. Also a good paranormal theme for #Scarathlon2021 #TeamHendrix @staycurious @TheAromaofBooks
Up next is this book for a blog tour. I meant to post this earlier but I totally forgot. Its not on my book spin list but works great for #Scarathlon2021
Oh my God, this book. This is the month of books that leave me so stunned apparently. A young girl has a seizure to wake and find her friend killed by a train. But cant remember if she was pushed or if it was an accident. I never saw any of the later plot coming!
Another regular read but a dang good one for #Scarathlon2021 #TeamHendrix @staycurious and book 2/25 for #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks
The random wheel has selected this as my next book. It really wants me to read off theme books for #Scarathlon2021 doesnt it? But oh well, it is at least clearing my TBR and getting through the #bookspinbingo
Oh my God this book was absolutely amazing. When a trip to see some birds ends in one man dead and another the killer, you'll never guess who is the bad guy and why. And even when you find out who was the killer, theres even more behind it! That ending was perfect.
Just a regular off theme book for #Scarathlon2021 #TeamHendrix @StayCurious and Book 1/25 for #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
