Just one of 5 bookcases in the house, all double stacked, and we put in place a book moratorium a few years ago whilst we read all the books we had! Of course doesn‘t stop us buying ebooks 😂 My name is Andrew, and I‘m a bookaholic, it‘s 24 hours since I last acquired a book! 🫣🤷♂️🙈

FINALLY!!! What a fight this has been with IKEA for about 4 months now. It doesn‘t perfectly line up with the others still, but I‘ll take it!! Now for the daunting task of rearranging 😖 Not pictured: stacks of books on the floor and all over the top of my dresser. Wish me luck!

My bookshelf is up! Kinda sad we had to put it by the door so its facing away from my bed.... but ill see it when I open my door!! Now to fill it with books!!! Thats the closet door in the picture...
My boyfriend and me bought a bigger apartement and we just learned that we will get the keys next week already😍😍this is how it looked with the previous owners and we‘ll probably also have this wall full with books. I can‘t wait to get new bookshelves🤩 I‘m so excited😁
We moved so now I'm in the process of unpacking my books. I'm just throwing everything onto shelves at random. I plan on organizing them later, but I haven't decided how I want to yet. Usually I do it by genre using my own definition of what I think fits into each one. I think I might go alphabetical this time? 🤷
How do you guys organize your bookshelves? If it's a better idea I'm stealing it. 😅

Follow up to my last post - a full bookshelf and art on the walls in my new apartment! I've been so busy with work during the week so it's taking me forever to get rid of all the boxes and get completely settled. The rest of my shelves are in my bedroom, but I'm stoked about how this space in the living room turned out! I'm in full on nesting mode and feeling productive 😄

As with any bookshelf reshuffle - feelings of oh no what have I done crept in very quickly.
My apartment isn‘t very big and my available floor space has changed due to working from home - so I didn‘t take all the books off at once like I would usually

(Slow) Progress has been made! 😅 I still need to secure them and organize all the books though.
Moving has made me consider buying new shelves though. One of these somehow ended up with a puncture and another started coming apart at the top 😬 Any recommendations for new shelves?

The reason I‘ve been MIA all weekend! Applied some paint & stain to my bookshelf and gave it a pretty face lift 🥰 DIY all the way! With help from the hubs of course ha!
Library book haul. Have read A Man Called Ove and wanted to own a paper copy. Had read Kafka on the Shore ages ago and due for a re-read.
I check out e-books from the library and buy paper copies of the ones that I want on my bookshelf. Husband thinks it‘s weird that my bookshelf has ‘read‘ books. Anyone else does this or am I the only weird one? 🤷🏻♀️🙄

We moved into this house about 8 months ago. My husband had the idea to take the eaves space on the landing at the top of the stairs and build bookshelves into it. I love the way it looks —and now I need to go buy more books! 😀👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Life has been BUSY and I‘ve literally had zero “me” time aka reading time these past 4 weeks and things will likely not be slowing down. Trying to set aside time for myself - starting with admiring the new bookshelf arrangement my hubs blessed me with this weeekend!! I even have 2 empty shelves in another section of the house!!! 🥰 love him!
We have successfully dismantled all our bookshelves today to make it easier for the movers to pack our stuff. That was a mighty productive Sunday. These babies are moving to Al Ain (Abu Dhabi). Please send good thoughts as our family embarks on this new adventure!
