A great start to a new series. I loved that this fantasy story was set in modern times and not entirely in a fantasy world. The plot was well thought out and excuted. Best of all was the characters. Recommend, especially if you like urban fantasy. 4⭐️ #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65

I enjoyed this and look forward to continuing the series. It‘s not my favorite urban fantasy (it‘s no Kate Daniels or Mercy Thompson), but there‘s some definite potential. I‘m not a dog person, but I really liked Oberon. There‘s some repetition of phrasing, which gets a little old, but overall I liked Atticus and his style.

Druids?! Fae! Vampires?! Werewolves! Witches!Ancient Irish gods and goddesses! Yes, please. This was a fun read as I struggle through a reading slump.
I love Kevin Hearne but he is king of releasing new editions with new bonus material which I find incredibly frustrating.
A druid as old as time it's self lives in AZ is preparing for battle against an old for when various gods come to.warn him of his foes return. Good start to the iron druid chronicles. I enjoyed book one, we shall see if I read book 2.

Starts this tonight as well as A Psalm for the Wild Built. It's enjoyable so far. Realized tonight that I made Bingo for #BookBingo haha fun times.

I liked the general plot of this story, but some of the writing was a bit eye-roll worthy. I also have a hard time caring about characters who are immortal and can heal themselves from literally any injury within minutes. It just makes it feel like there isn't really anything at stake.

1. I have skipped by a title before because of the title. Then again, I‘ve been proven wrong too when I gave that title a chance.
2. The whole series are one word titles. 💜

1. I didn‘t really have phases other than a reading phase, which is still going on. 😆 But I do remember reading about both Egyptian mythology and the Arthurian legend.
2. Ireland 🇮🇪
3. Tagged! I love the Iron Druid series ❤️📚
I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.
Join the fun if you want. This is day 2

The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne
The series follows ancient druid Atticus O'Sullivan (aka Siodhachan O Suileabhain), owner of the occult bookshop Third Eye Books and Herbs, as he becomes embroiled in the day-to-day struggle of gods, goddesses, and other supernatural creatures.
Plus, I love his dog, an Irish Wolfhound named Oberon, who has 2 books of his own.
First series my husband has pointed me to! (I usually give HIM the books) We started reading them together. Only a few chapters in and I can already tell this is going to be a wild awesome ride.
I mean who doesn't love a sexy tattooed ginger druid, though?

This was so funny! I loved the dog, Oberon, he was my favorite character. Many of the women characters in this book were one dimensional and I resented that a fair amount, but otherwise it was a quick and easy read. The action and pacing was good and fantasy elements were easy to follow and not too filled with lore.
A librarian at my local branch said this was her favorite series, so I finally decided to try it.
It's a fun, action-packed book with interesting characters that will keep you entertained. I loved the druid aspect to the story too. I will definitely continue with this series.
My next read!
@wanderinglynn I bought this the same day you suggested it haha Irish men are hard to resist 😆😆 The others you mentioned are next in line to order! I thank you again 😊
Congratulations!!!!!!! And it's awesome the way you've decided to celebrate by helping an Etsy entrepreneur.
The tagged book is one of my favorites, and I reread it this summer. In between ARC reviews, I'm hoping to get to read the next book!

🐈 Granuaile McTiernan - The Iron Druid Chronicles
🐈 She's pretty bad ass and powerful, and I like the aspect of her character that requires her to heal the Earth while kicking ass
I love everything! Thank you to @BethM for hitting it out of the ballpark. I wanted to read Once Ghosted, Twice Shy and the Dobby socks go great with my Dobby tattoo!
Thank you, Beloved ( @BookishMarginalia ) for organizing this wonderful swap. #SummerSantaGoesPostal

Thank you so much @Nessavamusic Great job! The stationary is gorgeous, the treats look fantastic and I can't waite to read the books 🦄

Finished this morning with a little help from my old girl Jenny. This was an excellent read! I really loved the wit in this book. And I also loved the relationship with Oberon, his wolfhound. The writing is well done and I enjoyed his mythology. I look forward to reading more in this series. (This did not end in a cliffhanger for anyone curious.)
Because I bought book 2 recently I had to get book 1 to start the series. I just can't purposely start a series on a following book. Anyone else?

1. Tough to pick just one. I‘ll go with The Good Place.
2. In short, the “good place.” See my comment below for my original spoiler answer.
3. 😳 I cannot decide that. It‘s just too hard.
4. Tagged
5. Because druids, magic, gods, & more all with modern conveniences as it‘s set in present day Arizona.

1. I grew up in East Tennessee. Currently in Northern Virginia, but getting ready to move to Seattle. 😁
2. So many thanks to Litsy including Rachel Joyce, Muriel Barbary, & Alma Katsu.
3. 686 on GR.
4. Snuggled on the couch with the fur babies.
5. If you liked Scalzi, I recommend Kevin Hearne‘s Iron Druid series (the first one is tagged).
Liked, but didn‘t love, this one. It was fun and had some genuinely funny parts. But overall I felt like the Druid had an answer for whatever problem came his way - a magical amulet, werewolves, vampires, power from the earth, goddesses who looked kindly upon him - it was all a bit too *easy* for our hero. There was no true struggle, so it became predictable. A fun, light read, and not at all bad, but I probably won‘t continue with the series.
This was a fun, easy read. I am sick and also have schoolwork. This was just right when coughing woke me up, or I needed a few minutes distraction. Just a fun book. Extra fun if you like mythology. Double extra if you like Celtic Mythology.
Finally, after going round & round at USPS before it finally got forwarded to my new address, I received my signed, limited edition copy of Hounded by Kevin Hearne that I pre-ordered months ago! Yay! 😀

This was a thoughtful gift from a well-meaning friend, but I bailed on it in the first chapter. I only rarely find first-person narrative other than lazy and overused, and I couldn't tolerate the main character's whingeing about being ancient while looking and acting like a college kid cosplaying for a rennfaire, and the rest was infodumping and bad fight scenes. Give me a character with some wrinkles and gravitas or GTFO.
