Up next…I‘m using this for Published in 2014 for the Book Girls Backlist Challenge. #bookspinbingo
I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!
#ABookADay2024
First day of sightseeing in #Stockholm! We visited the Vasamuseum, where you can see an original war ship from 1626, which immediately sank after leaving the port. Then, we wandered through the shopping malls to the giant Stadthus, and finally went to the Ice Bar (-5 Degrees!) and enjoyed a VERY cold 🍹.
Looking forward to tomorrow.

1. Britt-Marie Was Here. It got even better in my head after mulling it over with a friend.
2. Watching #CanadaReads2023 at the end of the month.

This would be the perfect winter read for fans of small-town romances, and/or movies where the kids get their sports field in the end after they defeat the evil developers 🏟 Full review: https://keepingupwiththepenguins.com/britt-marie-was-here-fredrik-backman/
4⭐. Humor, some sadness, heart-warming. 😊🥹
Read this after reading My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She‘s Sorry since Britt-Marie was first introduced in that book. If you liked Backman‘s other books, you‘ll enjoy this one too. I liked learning more about Britt-Marie and seeing another side to her character. Poetic writing as always.
This book is adorable. Britt-Marie will quietly steal your heart.
Completed my next OWL reading challenge category! I was reading this HP book in French for so long! 😅
ANCIENT RUNES:
🌟Ancient runes: A book in translation - Britt Marie Was Here
🌟Beedle the bard: A fairytale (folktale?) retelling - Sistersong
🌟Mistranslation: A book whose title is translated differently - HP French - “The school for sorcerers” rather than Sorcerer‘s or Philosopher‘s Stone
Fredrik Backman triumphs yet again in creating a little slice of heaven. Escaping reality alongside this masterful story teller always ensures you're in for a treat. This tale is positively soul-stirring, with characters that are impossible to not fall head over heels in love with. Any Ove lovers will have utter adoration for Britt-Marie and her journey to self-discovery. A witty, adorably humorous prose that will bring about giggles and tears ♡
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Probably my favorite Backman so far! By the end, I loved Britt-Marie so much.
Another good read by Backman! I basically will read anything he writes. This was a pleasure to read alongside the comments of my #lmpbc members @shellleigh33 and @Kayla.Adriena . I‘m mailing it to you this week @BennettBookworm ! 💗💗💗
Britt-Marie Was Here was HERE in my mailbox when I got home! Thanks @Kayla.Adriena ! #lmpbc @BennettBookworm @shellleigh33
Finished for #LMPBC. ⚽️⚽️⚽️. I'm a fan of Backman and soccer apparently. I really like the bits that explained what kind of person you are based on what team you root for. The US is pretty much the only country that calls it soccer right? @LiteraryinLawrence @shellleigh33 @BennettBookworm
Dear Fredrik Backman, once again you‘ve written a book that has stolen my heart ♥️♥️♥️
It‘s impossible not to love Britt-Marie.
@Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft am going to submit this for #booked2022 #madeforthesmallscreen if that‘s ok?
Book 8📚
I knew I was going to love this one. It hit me right in the ❤️ I loved the characters, Britt-Marie is real and makes you feel. The kids really pull at your heart strings and you just want everything to work out.
Unknowingly, Britt-Marie breathes change into the lives of Borg❤️
Fans of A Man Called Ove will love her!🗺🇫🇷
Another one down for the bookshelf!😂👊🏻
I love Fredrik Backman‘s books. I didn‘t enjoy this as much as his others but it was still good. It still managed to make me laugh out loud in parts snd nearly cry in others.
“At a certain age almost all the questions a person asks himself are about one thing: how should you live your life?”
Backman made me cry. Again. He always tells a beautiful story.
#SuperSeptember I hit my goal of three books.
@Andrew65 @EadieB
I need to clean up my library. The chaos! But first I need to finish this book. Priorities.

It‘s crazy how I related to Britt-Marie even though we shouldn‘t have. Backman really captured those human emotions that we all feel but may not show others. I just enjoyed this one. #bookspinbingo
Close to a bingo and I think I finish Bridge Kingdom today I can make it!! 😁
Another moving and funny tale with wonderful characters that is almost a hybrid of A Man Called Ove and Beartown.
🎧 I thought the summary read like it was going to be an adult Mary Poppins. Nope.
This was my first Backman book. I don‘t think he‘s my jam. Or I wasn‘t in the mood.
I was bored. It started slow. It picked up in the last third and the last 2 chapters felt rushed/forced/contrived. This could be due to the fact I was expecting something else? IDK what, just different.
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 👇🏻👇🏻
FEATURING: Britt-Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman
Keeping up appearances but not being appreciated was Britt-Marie's life.
Britt-Marie always worried what others would think if something happened to her when they traveled and her hotel room was not in pristine order.
A DELIGHTFUL READ!!

I really like Fredrik Backman‘s writing style and his stories, however he does love a good tragic storyline.
I am becoming a pretty big Beckman fan. This is the third book I‘ve of his in the last three months. He has the same style, but the stories are different enough to keep me interested.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ It made me giggle in places and made me sad at other times but did not catch me as much as other books by Backman have.
@Endowarrior21 thank you for the lovely #bookcupidswap! I adore Backman and this (almost) completes my collection of his books! Happy Valentine‘s Day 🥰
@candority
Book 2 of 2021.
Have to read all the books by Fredrik Backman now!

My little reading buddy and I found ourselves very emotionally invested in what life decisions Britt-Marie would make. Okay, I was invested and he was just sleepy. I liked this one. Backman knows just how to write all the feels and pull at the heart strings. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The last couple weeks have been super tough, among other things, we had a very short notice move and our kitty, Haymich got out of our old house and is still missing.💔 I've been trying to read here and there but it's been so go go go. But we are finally getting settled in and tonight I'm going to practice some self care and start the tagged book and eat who knows how much of this box of chocolates!
Admittedly I only checked this out last week because all the other available audiobooks didn‘t fancy me. I didn‘t have high hopes because I didn‘t like “My Grandmother asked me to tell you she‘s sorry” so much but was curious for this because I knew one of the characters would appear in here.
Well, I never thought I‘d love Britt-Marie that much. I was sure to love this whole book. But honestly, the last 3 hours were pure disappointment. 👎🏼
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This one I had to warm up to and the ending was unexpected, which I can appreciate. Nonetheless I loved it like. #recommended #litsy #audiobook
Cozy night in with a new (to me!) Backman. 🎶This is what dreeeeams are made of...!🎶 #currentlyreading
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another beautiful story of unique characters. I love it when I‘m transported "elsewhere" through caracters filled with constraints and then feel the them open up to the next level in their spiral of life, thanks to self love and the help of those new people around. Britt-Marie is a late bloomer who has a vision of the world that goes from XXS to L? ? Heartwarming ??

Tom read this book too so he gets to be in the photo. We both really enjoyed A Man Called Ove, so we tried this book too. It‘s a cute, light hearted story. I recommend for an easy and fun read!
Fredrik Backman really is a master of imaging up with the best characters! I loved this book...as I do all of his books. Such a sweet and cute story. I found myself wrapped up in the lives of this amazing cast of characters in a small town. I was a little sad to see it end...
Hit up my local used book store. Everything is under $10. If I‘m being honest, I didn‘t see anything more than $5. Such steals. What do I read first?
I very much enjoyed this book. Being with Britt-Marie as she navigates the unknown and learns more about herself was fun. And up to the end, I was worried about the decision she had to make. I was so happy with how Backman ended it, although I would love to follow more of her journey.
