Olive is read and often unlikeable, but she is also honest and real. I love how the author wove the story not just through Olive‘s perception, but through the lives she touches as well. I can‘t wait to read the sequel “olive again”.

The latest in the Hunger Games series. I loved it and had a hard time putting it down. However this book was probably the most heartbreaking. There‘s mention of many characters that are more prominent in later books which was neat & sad. Without giving too much away- this book covers Haymitch‘s reaping at the quarter quell.

It would be easy to view Ina as a Martha Stewart type woman who knows how to do everything & does it perfectly- the ultimate housewife that us mortals cannot live up to. However describing Ina this way is so wrong. She is her own feminist, who taught herself how to do countless things- own a business, cook, write a book, flip real estate. She even worked for the White House dealing with nuclear policies. I love her focus on perseverance. Read it!

Britt Marie is the most unlikable character that you grow to love. The book is heart breaking and very real. It also shows that you are never too old to begin again and love your life. It ends on a cliff hanger, so the ending is unknown. But you find yourself rooting for Britt Marie 💜

This story follows the personal growth of a 14 yo who was nannying for a very unconventional family in the 1970s. Loved it!

This book took me a few tries to get into it, but I‘m so glad I persisted. It unfolded in ways I had not expected. While often tragic- you will love Elizabeth Zott and her lessons in chemistry!!

This book is historical fiction piece during the Great Depression. It follows a woman living during the great dust bowl. It is beautifully written and a powerful read about the strength of women and the difference love & passion makes. Highly recommend!!

If you enjoy dark humor- this book is hilarious. It‘s a quick read of short stories- some fiction, some from the author‘s life. All enjoyable. For instance, did you know the Dutch Santa is skinny and accompanied by 6-8 black men while living in Spain?!

Taddeo‘s book is a memoir of 3 women who are experiencing a personal crisis. It‘s heart breaking. It spoke to me, as a women, about all the unspoken messages we are given about our lives, our wants, how we should behave, etc. read it!

This book is powerful. Vance is very open about his childhood- the good and the bad. It speaks to all the ways resilience is fostered in children. It also highlights the many ways children can thrive- stability, support, love. Its a very thought provoking read.

Loved it! The book follows Ann‘s dysfunctional and turbulent childhood as her mother pursues her dreams. I loved that the author had different women in the book write chapters of events from their viewpoint.

As an adult adoptee, this was emotionally the hardest book I‘ve ever read. However I recommend for everyone to read it- those touched by adoption or not. It speaks to reproduction reform, and truly supporting family unity. “Adoption is meant to support the needs of the children, and not support the dreams of would be parents”. That‘s so powerful. The needs Child & birth parent are lost in the current adoption process. Read it!!

For fans of “where‘d you go Bernadette”- read this book! It‘s a day in the life of a woman trying to do better. It‘s funny, lots of dark humor, and so relatable.

It was different, and I enjoyed reading it but pretty predictable

I loved this book- couldn‘t put it down. As a woman, I related to the main character. It also reminded me of some important life lessons- we all mess up but you have to learn to forgive yourself and keep going, it‘s not too late to make a change, and it‘s important to let people in. Cliques perhaps but truths nonetheless. Iykyk.

I would recommend this book for skeptical conspiracy theorists- lol. I loved it. It was hard to believe and unsettling but all true. Although the subject matter was dark, the author brought humor in which I liked. I did find it a bit hard to follow at times, but overall a great book. Give it a read!

This was a very hard read, but l also think so important. This book shows the evil people are capable of, but also the importance of acts of kindness- no matter how small. It‘s chilling to think of how easily the German people accepted the Nazis antisemitism. A lesson to us all

Loved this historical fiction book! I also came to greatly admire Mileva Maria Einstein. Her brilliance to be accepted into a university for physics during a time when women were not educated is extraordinary. Einstein treatment of her disputable. I ended the book wondering what great scientific discoveries Mileva could have achieved with the right spouse and support. 10/10 recommend

This book reminded me of the 90s rom com “you‘ve got mail”. It was light, funny, but swallowed you up into the story. I loved it. It‘s a love story about people who love books. The best part were the book references in the book. 10/10 recommend!

“The Firm” was my first Grisham. I loved it & was hooked on his stories for many years. It‘s been a while since I read one, but I couldn‘t pass up reading about what Mitch & Abby are up to now- 15 years after the Firm ended. For all Grisham fans, check this one out.

This is the follow up book to Emily Giffin‘s “something borrowed”, but from Darcy‘s point of view. I was worried it would be an obnoxious read, as Darcy is so much in something borrowed, but giffin got the tone perfect. I loved it.

Such a great follow up to “Less”. Author is so real and his adventures entertaining. Rooting for Author Less always 🖤

The story of the Lakeside Supper Club through 4 generations of women

While I found it challenging in the beginning to really connect with the characters, I‘m glad I pushed through. This book features a family coming to terms with the pampered world they have inherited, and what generational wealth means. Good read.

A perfect mother follows a new mothers group who are suddenly a part of a crime, as they try to balance motherhood and solving the crime. Very honest look of those first few months of having a newborn. The storyline kept me guessing until the last page.

This is a historical fiction piece based in the late 1800s of a white girl Alma who grew up at the boarding school for Native Americans her father opened. Alma finds herself torn between the two cultures, and finding herself questioning everything. Very well written.

I re-read this with my teens. Such a powerful read. The horrors in this book still render me speechless, even though I know they are coming. How could a human do these acts to another? The greatest takeaway message for me was the authors hope in humanity, and tireless acts to improve the world, despite what he went through. He didn‘t give up, and wanted us to love one another. So powerful

I was in the mood for some horror. To my surprise this was not. More of unexplained phenomena. That being said I enjoyed the book. It was a quick read and ultimately uplifting. Definitely different than Kings normal style, but a well written read none the less.

This book was perhaps the most imaginative and best written book I‘ve ever read. The author Anthony Doerr wrote this as a “paean” for books- basically in praise of books. This book follows characters in 3 points in history- thousands of years apart- in Ancient Greece, present day Idaho and in the far future aboard a spaceship, all reading the same book “cloud cuckoo land”. Brilliant

Chilling is the best way to describe this book. There‘s romance & suspense too, but after finishing the book the same day I bought it …”chilling” is the only@word to come to mind. Read it!!

I was expected to read a historical fiction piece on America‘s first nursing school. What I read is so much more! It‘s historical fiction/ forensics & crime. The character development of the main character is well written and leaves you rooting for the under dog Una.

I give this book 4/5 stars. It starts out slow, but give it a chance. For those that grew up on Goosebumps stories, R L Stine endorsed this book :). It‘s the equivalent to a horror motive where you keep yelling at the main character to STOP! The ending will keep you in your toes.

This fictional book follows Mirielle West, as she has to leave her luxurious life in LA and be forcibly contained in a Leper colony in Louisiana. Mirielle is a complex character who has to face her demons and build a new life. Great read

I read this book for the first time as a freshman in hS. I‘ve read “A tree grows in Brooklyn” countless times since then, , usually around Christmas time. I look forward to it each year. It‘s a coming of age story of Francis Nolan. No matter where I am in life, it speaks to me in some way.

10/10 recommend! Fair warning this book deals with heavy topics, such as child loss and murder. It‘s well written, suspenseful and keeps you guessing. The author gilllian Flynn has a true gift. Read it!

The Chemist is Stephenie Meyer‘s (author of Twilight) attempt at going into adult books. I liked the book. The premise (a chemist who is being targeted by the government) was new and different. I liked that part of the book. However it was too wordy for my taste, which kind of long my interest at parts. I also felt it got too much into romance and took away the books focus. Overall interested book but not my favorite

Perfect spooky read for Halloween! Although there‘s plenty of gore, what gives this book the perfect spooky factor is the suspense. The fear. Which King is the master at.

I‘m a big Taylor Jenkins Reid fan. I love how she incorporates other book topics and characters into each book. That being said this one took me a bit to get into, but I‘m so glad I stuck it out. This is the best character growth I‘ve ever read. Carrie Soto is a badass. Read it. You will love it!
