“Linus blinked against the sudden and unexpected burn in his eyes.”
Pretty much sums up my experience with this book so far.
Very late to the party and it also took me very long to finish this book. It was April‘s #doublespin. I liked the characters but the story itself could have been a bit deeper for my liking.
I‘m continuing my experiments in monogamous reading with this month‘s selection for my in person #bookclub
June, July and August book club selections. #FirstSaturdayReaders
Final book haul for Mother‘s Day including the tagged book for an upcoming #authoramonth @Soubhiville
This was such a beautiful story about friendship, love, respect, and understanding of all beings and people from all walks of life. There were so many sweet and emotional moments, and even the characters with a bit of an edge make it impossible not to love them. It reminded me a bit of Miss Peregrine‘s Home for Peculiar Children but for adults.
I am so excited for the sequel!
1. Important would be Christmas but I also love spending my birthday with my kids.
2. @NataliePatalie, my daughter
3. My growing up family was pretty dysfunctional. But with my kids growing up we played a lot of games and went to a lot of cool places for homeschooling field trips.

4 people have this on hold after me so I better start it next.
I love this idea so much @KateReadsYA ❤️ Litsy is 100% my found family according to anyone who knows me IRL This sounds like an Amazing swap theme!
Tagging a few people who might be interested (and i‘m sure I‘m missing some…sigh) - sign ups are open on Kate‘s page! (also @Gissy i saw you indicated interest on @LitsyEvents )
This book gave me all the warm fuzzies & I enjoyed every minute of reading it!
Thank you so much @staci.reads both chocolates sound amazing! #jolabokaflodswap
I hope everyone has an amazing Christmas!
I didn‘t have as much time to read this year as other years so I can‘t get to a top 23, but I do have a top 10! #top10
One of the most beautiful books I‘ve read this year. A magical island where six magical but dangerous children live. Linus is sent to assess the children and their caretaker.
The story is warming and wondrous. I adored all the magical children that joined the caretaker, Arthur. Even though he had his own secret to hide. I couldn‘t put the book down and the strong message promoted throughout is that family is always found in unexpected places. 5⭐️
To me this book felt over the top with sweetness, went into overkill with the morality lessons... I feel like I should have liked this more...
Literally one of the best books I‘ve ever read. Funny and sweet, with little life lesions along the way. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys junior fiction.
Stayed up too late last night reading and finished this book. But no regrets! 🤦♀️🙇♀️🤷♀️ And now I‘m ready for the sequel!
Absolutely fabulous book! I loved the humor in it. Lucy‘s humor was the best, but I loved all the characters…they were really brought to life for me. And oh so many@good life lessons on this one. Read it, you‘ll laugh and have a good time and perhaps fall in love with an island overlooking the cerulean sea.
I actually gasped and squealed. My poor husband thought I was having a heart attack. I‘m so excited for this!!!
THIS IS THE MOST EXCITING NEWS EVER OMG! 😱💕📚💕 Can you guys believe it?!?! Who else is totally freaking out!?
😯 OMG, I can't wait!!
Hooray! I‘m excited for this, I absolutely LOVED the House in the Cerulean Sea and am happy to see the story continued! Only 11 more months to wait 😂
Okay, not the House in the Cerulean Sea but A SEQUEL!!!
Just saw this on Tor‘s Instagram and there may have been gleeful chortling involved. Beyond excited about this and so looking forward to spending more time with these characters!!!
"Arthur says that we should always make time for the things we like. If we don't, we might forget how to be happy.” ✨?✨
This book was a beautiful, hopeful, creative, humorous journey that I‘m grateful to have read! It‘s like if X-men, Umbrella Academy, Roald Dahl, and Wrinkle in Time were mixed together to create a hopeful story about found family and love for the core of who people are. A sweet one I‘ll go back to someday.

@Pogue (Stephanie),
Wow! I won the trifecta with THREE books on my TBR list! They'll help with #Scarathlon, too! I also adore the autumn notecards (perfect for some #LL writing!) and cute little pumpkin plushie. I am in readers-heaven-on-earth! Thanks again! 🧡💜💛
Currently reading The House in the Cerulean Sea and falling more and more in love with every chapter. 😍
I‘ve got 11 days and 11 books remaining… definitely possible. 😜#bookspinhingo #bookspin #doublespinbingo
Someone picked this for my book club. I‘m glad this book exists in the world, but I didn‘t enjoy it.
Sunday porch reading. This book is just delightful. It‘s predictable but I don‘t care, it‘s been a perfect summer read and I can‘t wait to immerse myself in all of Klune‘s fun worlds.
“Just because you don‘t experience prejudice in your everyday doesn‘t stop it from existing for the rest of us.” 🩵💜🩵
This was an #Impulseread when I read it years ago! I loved it 🌊 looking forward to reading others by this author ✍️

Back to just #bookspin #doublespin as I paid NO attention to my bingo card - I'm SUCH a mood reader! Anyway, here's my list for August @TheAromaofBooks
Finally getting round to posting my #roll100 picks for August. However, I've been rearranging my leftover challenge prompts so I'm having to create a new list. @PuddleJumper
This was a charming story with great characters. I have to admit, however, that I was a little disappointed, given that so many people had raved about Klune's books. My expectations were probably a bit too high, but I really enjoyed the story in any case.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫This was sweet. Orphanage inspector finds a special kind of home along a very unique group of children and their caretakers. Some of it had Harry Potter vibes to me, but it was cute.
Bk7 of #20in4 #readathon & Bk12 of May is done! Wow, have I caught up on my reading or what. Helps that I haven‘t been sleeping much this weekend, pain sux. I loved this book so much. Every character was brilliant(except for DiCOMY & some villagers), the setting was perfect & the romance so sweet. It was the happy ending I needed after the Wayward Children books. Highly recommend.🩵🩵 #FourFoursIn23 #NoBuy2023Bingo #TBRTarot #Roll100 #ReadySetRead
Next book up is the 1st T.J.Klune book I bought. Would you believe I‘ve bought most of the books he‘s released so far(I think)but haven‘t actually read any of them yet? I‘m about 4 chapters in and loving it so far, I did try to read it previously but I guess it just wasn‘t the right time for it. Once I‘ve finished this I‘ll move onto Under The Whispering Door, then Wolfsong then In The Lives Of Puppets. #20in4 #readathon
Linus is a by-the-book case worker that checks on orphanages for magical children, which is why he was chosen to check on the extraordinary cases at the far away house run by Arther Parnassus.
Once Linus allows himself to relax and see the residents as more than their magical type, he discovers love and a family he never imagined he could have.
Oh, how wonderful. How profound. How immeasurably more beautiful this journey becomes, the more it is re-read and cherished. I revisited this old friend as a palette cleanser of sorts. I'd loved my previous book so, and needed something familiar. I couldn't have chosen a better book. There's a dazzling and wholly simple profundity on each and every page. If only the world would listen to the messages within. A tale of hope & found family. Magical.
2023 Reads Continued....
I'm an aging cynical homosexual who teared up way too many times at this wonderfully written found family story.
LF : I was a little disappointed how the finale wrapped it all up but also a little sad to say goodbye to the Roci Crew.
