⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This is specifically about prayer, but embedded in that is all her ways of making you feel like openness and goodness and God, whoever She really is, are important and easy and just possible in ways that in everyday life seem...less possible. I wish it had been a bit longer or more full or somehow made me slow down & reflect, but there is also much I will take with me, and I'm, as always, grateful for her voice & care.
Made a little reading nook. 😍
Finished this audiobook yesterday. It was a quick reflection of gratitude and how to ask the universe for help to get through tough times.
A wonderful little book about prayer that is not shove-it-down-your-throat preachy.
I love Anne Lamott's style. This short book is full of highlight-able words of wisdom.
I highly recommend it 🙂
P.S. If you haven't checked out Bookmarks Magazine, I highly recommend that, too!
#7days7books Day 3. Books that impacted me, changed me or never let me go.
I am not a particularly religious person but I do believe in the power of prayer and Anne Lamott is amazing.
It's a sit and read with your blankie kind of day... 🤓❤️
I spent the entirety of my 20-year education in Catholic institutions, and I‘m still active in my home parish. But I genuinely love to learn about other faiths, because at its heart, they all focus on the same thing: Love, and Goodness, and Truth - we just have different names for It. (I also love when there‘s humor involved.) #helpthankswow #annelamott #prayer #faith
I hate when this happens. I have my audiobook for my walks but nothing to read read.
Congrats and thank you for the opportunity to celebrate it with you 😊 I hope I‘m doing this right (this is my first time participating in a giveaway). So, literary sin ... it‘s hard for me to think of romance genre as books (Mea culpa - I‘m getting better!) #1Kgiveaway 📚
Amy, thank you so much for this book!!! I love the beautiful wrapping 💚💚 I know it will help me get through this difficult time!! Thanks so much for being such a great friend to me!!! 💕😘 I‘m so happy that you sold your house!!!!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
This is true for me! #ohcomeemmanuel #prayer #advent
Worth all the recommendations from #annkroeker
I had to give one more shout out to this little book that packs a wallop of wisdom from Anne Lamott: who reminds us to have more honest conversations with God, learn to love our depressing, hilarious, mostly decent selves & try to leave the world a slightly better place during our stay here. AND because I just updated my #LitsyA-Z list & realized this book marks my last entry:#LetterH Woohoo
Thanks for this fun challenge, @BookishMarginalia
This tbr is by my bed right now but meanwhile this TED talk came in my Facebook. I loved it.

Final #Booktopia stack. Also all unread, largely composed of recommendations from the #NorthshireBooks staff. #BooktopiaVT
Hey Litsians I need your help please!! There was a post on here a little while back about ordered books on Amazon.uk and other people chimed in with other suggestions for ordering British books. I can't remember the recommended sites!!! Any and all input is welcome. Thanks!!
I needed an audio book for a long drive. I randomly picked Anne Lamott's Grace Eventually Thoughts on Faith. I was hooked. I fell for this author hook, line & sinker. I devour everything she writes. He words soothe my soul. I had the opportunity to hear her speak about 4 years ago. I also got to take a picture with her & got my #signed book. #readjanuary @RealLifeReading
WOW!!!!! I just love being here so much, and it shows ❤️. Thanks for all the love over the past few months, Littens. Can't wait to roll through all my challenges with you all in 2017📚📚📚
I've been painstakingly compiling my list for the #LitsyReadingChallenge today. I'm almost done, but I'm stumped on a couple of categories. Any suggestions for a book written from multiple perspectives or a not-too-scary horror option? Thanks in advance!

Okay, fellow Littens. I'm looking for a book I've seen on here before, but I can't remember the title. The cover is rather intricate, and I'm pretty sure the story has to do with a young man finding an ancient text about a race of people who seem (to my memory) to be similar to the races described in Monstress, sort of half-human, half-beast. Any ideas? I saw it recently but now cannot remember the title so I can download a sample!
I hate it when all my library holds come in at once because I won't have time to read then ask before they are due back
The entirety of life in a nutshell by a spiritual writer who discusses faith, but with a refreshing irreverence and cleverness. #annelamott
I knocked this bad boy out in a day and a half while taking a break from the much longer Leonard Cohen biography. Its brevity and deceptive simplicity belie a power and depth that was very moving. Its middle section (Thanks) also inspired an upcoming blog post on my blog/website The Zen Teacher. Feel free to look for it in a week or so.
Wow, y'all! This newbie Litten is feeling the love!
