Driven by Daria's vibes I read this comic book.
Meh. Maybe a case of the first isn't always the best, but while this was apparently pretty unique when first published, I feel like I've seen or read similar characters and this pair didn't really appeal to me. Kinda worth the effort since he nails the ending, but I didn't much care for it overall.
The parts that I could understand, were fine, at best. I don't know — I just found this graphic novel rushed, confusing and all over the place. I feel like I might have missed something, since this this graphic novel is pretty popular and comes highly recommended by friends and coworkers. It just didn't hit home, nor was it engaging. If someone has some insight on something I might hvae missed, let me know! Lol #graphicnovel #ghostworld
Hmm.. this was my first read. I was really excited, but... I can't say it's aged well. Some of the themes might hold true to a specific readership though.
I know this is a cult classic when it comes to Comics, but I honestly couldn't see why. There's just this bunch of negativity and a lot of judgement flying from page to page. I totally disliked both the main characters and cared for them as much as they cared about the people around them.
So that's my very disappointing #DoubleSpin for July @TheAromaofBooks
Getting excited about #Taurus Reading Challenge for June!! Some classics, a couple re-reads, and several new stories. Can‘t wait!

So many angles are explored in these episodes of high school friendship: tensions brought on by a looming graduation, dealing with assholes, romantic insecurities, coping with soul-crushing suburban conformity and the joys in finding exceptions. The artwork highlights the cynical humor and brooding emotions perfectly. I still like the movie better, but it's a favorite, so it would have been tough to top. Thora Birch's Enid is the best 🖤
This book was not for me. I did not like it AT ALL. Maybe it was just me but I could not figure out what the point of this book was or if there was any plot at all.
This one was definitely interesting, but I‘m not totally sure I enjoyed it. I feel like it was all a bunch of teen angst and the only part I related to at my current age is the issue of high school friends growing apart & all of the little things that go along with that. I‘m curious to see the movie, though. #booked2019 #graphicnovel #ontothenextone
Decided I would go for the graphic novel prompt for #booked2019 next. I‘ve had my eye on this one for a while, & was so excited when I found it at Goodwill! Plus, it seems like a nice quick read, which is great since I‘m trying to catch up on cleaning today!😅 #graphicnovels #cleaningday #quickreads #backinthereadingroutine
Goodwill book haul from this weekend with their bomb 25% off coupon!😍 #goodwillfinds #goodwillbooks #goodwillisbae #bookhaul #goodwillhaul #goodwillbookhaul #previouslylovedbooks #usedbooks
Eh... I was annoyed for most of this.
New school material and new reading material! #bookhaul #bookmail #happydays #homeschool
This was a fun graphic novel. Super satirical look at a friendship between two teenage girls. I enjoyed the artwork and the writing. I definitely would recommend this one to read. It definitely kept my attention and made me think.
Happy National Book Lover's Day! I'm trying not to buy new books so these are from my local library. Which doesn't help me read my own books but let's not split hairs. The GOT book I grabbed for my husband. The others are all graphic novels.
😂😂😂 When the author throws himself into the comic as an admired man. 🙌

Back to reading while I wait on my tator tots to cook. ❤️ I need me some comfort food, cause I am in a seriously rotten mood. Hah. That rhymed. 😬

I could not bring myself to finish this graphic novel. It has no point. Whinny wanna be girls bad mouthing everyone for no reason at all. I know this was made into a movie, and maybe I‘ll like the movie better, but I can not see what all the fuss is about. These were the types of girls I found annoying in highschool, and apparently I still can not stand them.
3/5⭐️I loved the movie long before I knew it was a comic. I don‘t read a lot of comics but I did enjoy this one.
I grew up in the 90s. Whining about indie cred based on who has the right to cite indie bands? So very #90sKids 🙄 😬 #MyGeneration #Rocktober @BarbaraBB @Cinfhen
I know this is susposed to be some great life altering graphic novel, so please someone tell me why. Two whinny girls who hate everything and think everything in life sucks. No thank you. I don't even like the characters enough to get to the end. #readathon.
"God, it drives me crazy when I know exactly what I want and I can't find it anywhere! It's like does anybody want my money!? I mean what the fuck!?" #comics #shelfie #allsubtext
This was alright! I didn't care for it as much as I wish I did, but it was still good.
Oh man. This was better than I expected. Remember that feeling when you were on the cusp? Wanting to grow up but also wishing everything would stay the same? This captures two girls at that liminal point after high school graduation, set in bedrooms, bowling alleys, diners, and sidewalks: the staples of small-town life.
Finally figured out the perfect title for today's #JuneTunz theme of #SmellsLikeTeenSpirit. Also timely because the film (also amazing on its own) is being re-released.
I'm a little behind in posting reviews. I read this earlier this month. As a fan of the movie, I had to check out the graphic novel. I do like the movie better, but the book was entertaining enough for me to give it 4 ⭐️
I made a list of 100 great books that have been adapted for screens big and small. (I'm only claiming the books are great - some of the the adaptations are real stinkers. 😂) (Not Ghost World, thought - I heart this movie.) http://bookriot.com/2017/05/19/100-must-read-books-that-have-been-adapted-for-mo... 🎥 📚❤️
I'd kind of forgotten that Enid and Rebecca are clueless assholes. (Teenagers, eh.) This edition includes both the graphic novel and the screenplay for the movie adaption as well as some annotation and sketches.
#readathon book 4, and now I have to go to work.
Got my #Readathon stack ready for tomorrow! (And the snacks, snacks are important 😉)
I've been so busy since my New Year mini-vacation that I have had next to no time to read! 😪 I've only finished two books so far this year, and both of them were graphic novels. Ghost World is my first foray into the work of Daniel Clowes. I love the movie version, and the original story wasn't half bad either 😉
Aimee Mann wrote an awesome song inspired by this graphic novel! #litremix https://g.co/kgs/baiIai
#characterchallenge I don't read many graphic novels but I loved the movie Ghost World so much that I read the novel back in high school. I will always love Seymour and his badass record collection. #day9 #octphotochallenge
I picked this up without knowing much about it, but I really couldn't get into it. It doesn't feel authentic, maybe? I'm having trouble pinning down my issues with it.
