A good summer read, but nothing to write home about. The pacing kept the story moving, and I was intrigued by the plot. However, the writing left something to be desired. Something about the narrator‘s tone rubbed me the wrong way, and there are a lot of clichés and predictable moments. None of the characters seemed “real,”‘and the twist was so wildly unbelievable, it took away from the story. Very readable, but not sure it was worth reading. 2⭐️
Still expanding my reading genre and I‘m enjoying the new world I‘ve entered. Been wanting to read this one for awhile and now seems like a good time to start it.
This is a very, very soft pick for me. While I found the story interesting & entertaining I absolutely loathed the format. I did find myself interested in the twists. I feel like the "story is revealed through visits to her therapist" style has been done too often. The result for me was feeling like the MC, Annie, kept the reader at arms length. I still didn't feel like I had connected with her by the time I closed the book. ⭐⭐⭐
Book #21 of 2022. The twists and turns in this book have you guessing until the end.
Another wild ride for Chevy Stevens..The story follows Annie O‘Sullivan, a realtor who is abducted from an open house and endures a year of brutality at the hands of a Freak! But the story does not end there..disturbing to read at times but good fast paced read! Recommend 😀
Wow.. I still can't wrap my head around this book. It was a great book, but just awful and sad on the inside. I cannot imagine what this women endured. When I looked it up and said it was based on a true event, I literally wanted to hurl. I cannot imagine going through all that and that ending.. My heart breaks for her.
My first Chevy Stevens book and definitely not my last! What a crazy story-realtor working a slow open house and gets abducted. You really felt her fear and hatred. I was rooting for her survival instincts to stay alive just one more day. Really enjoyed! 4⭐️
Amazing! I read it all in one day. Great character development and an interesting look into the aftermath of a traumatic experience.
I got to say that this book was magnificent. I couldn't stop listening to it. It drags you in as soon as you start and keeps you there.
Great book. I love this author
Unique format delivering the story from the perspective of the victim in therapy. This wasn‘t my favorite of hers but still a pick.
Reading in between calls.
6/70. This book has been my TBR list for years and I've finally decided to give it a go.
Breathless. This novel left me breathless; the very last sentence took my breath away. This story is woven with such expert detail - gripping from the very first page. Grief, love, fear, trust, bravery. Every emotion felt deeply. I give this book such high praise!
Just started this book and am already so disturbed, yet addicted to this story! Narration = superb!!
I can't wait to see where this story leads.

Current reads—left for book club, right just because.
June has been a beating. These are just books 5 and 6 of the month.
This is one of my favorite books ever by my absolute favorite author. So intense it really keeps you hooked. Love it.
The book kept me interested but I felt weird after reading it. I don‘t enjoy the women getting kidnapped story lines.
Day 20 of #MarchMadness is #PsychologicalThrillers

What a freaking bombshell of a book! Powerful, painful, dark, disturbing twisty little story! I don't want to give anything anyway. But when I listened to this, it was like watching an edge of your seat thriller.
Annie was abducted, held hostage and managers to escape. The story follows her after she has escaped and the hard time she has trying to live in her world again.
The story was told in a an interesting way that had me unable to put the book down and had me turning page after page.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A woman is abducted and held captive for a year until she escapes. Then she struggles to reenter society while trying to figure out who abducted her and why.
The ending of this book was absolutely crazy. I don‘t know if I was totally happy with the ending but at least things are wrapped up.
Home from vacation and found an awesome #giveaway goodie from @blondie in my mailbox! Thank you!!! 💕💕💕

This was an engrossing story about a woman who is kidnapped and has trouble readjusting to her life after she escapes. It was hard to read in parts and heartbreaking in others. I read this book very quickly. The authors ability to keep you intrigued is just amazing.
One of my favorite reads about a woman who goes #missing, and then has trouble readjusting after she returns home. #MayBookFlowers
I picked this book up last evening out of my TBR piles. Needless to say I didn't put it down until I finished it a few hours later. It drew me in with the details and everything surrounding poor Annie. It was also a very easy read where it didn't give much confusing detail. I really enjoy this author and her novels 🌟🌟🌟🌟 4/5
I read this book probably a month and a half or so ago. It still sticks with me and I think it is one of the most detailed and terrifying books. I felt like I was there. I had to take breaks while I read because I couldn't believe what was happening. It is a really well written book and it is different than anything else I have come by. Being kidnapped is a nightmare and this book showed the main characters will to survive.
Ok, I'm reading two novels and listening to 2 audiobooks lol I can't help myself. Anyways, I got this for 1$ at the library yesterday. Never read this author but so far this book has drawn me in completely! I fell asleep reading it and dang! I had strange dreams! Lol!
This was Chevy Stevens debut novel and other than using the terms 'cop shop' and 'loan shark' a few too many times I really liked it.
Eh. This was my second Chevy Stevens book and probably my last. As far as thrillers go, I need more thrill. I really wanted to like this more than I did, and there were some highlights, just not enough to keep me coming back for more.
#trickedortreated #octphotochallenge The last post! How sad! But I'm proud of myself that I was able to participate every day. Anywho, for this category I chose four books that #tricked me. I thought they'd be amazing, and they were not. I really hated Still Missing the very most and I won't read Chevy Stevens again; Dark Places surprised me because I loved Gone Girl; Exposure was ridiculous; John Green should have not written the Katherine's.
I feel very torn about this book. I started off disliking it but as the book progressed I found I couldn't put it down, desperate to find out "who done it". Despite this,I still couldn't say that I really enjoyed the book. The style of the story being told from flashbacks to her therapist wasn't my cup of tea and i found parts of it to be disappointing. But I was gripped....hence left with very mixed feelings.
Sooo excited to start this gem tonight! Chevy Stevens is quickly becoming one of my must read authors! #stillmissing #winedown #readwithwine
Lively plot and a lot if action. It's not a brilliant book but the mystery is unraveled interesting enough.
