A book held long in the wings, but worth the wait. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Years ago I was about 12 hours into this #audiobook when major life changes distracted me from finishing. So here I am at the beginning, again. Hopefully there will be no distractions this go round because I'm very eager to see how things play out!! (I've successfully avoided all spoilers for all these years, so...) 😁
Thanks for the tag @TieDyeDude
📖 I'm not a big mystery reader, but when a giant dome appears over a town people want to know where the hell it came from.
🍳At home I'm a scrambled eggs on toast kind of gal. But at a restaurant/diner it's always poached! 😋

This book has always felt to me like King took the wanton destruction of Castle Rock and its inhabitants seen in Needful Things and cranked it to 11. While entertaining, this remains a tough read. People you love will die in cruel and senseless fashion, and they will do so throughout. The main and supporting cast are well-written and (mostly) likeable, but that ultimately makes this a very tense read as you dread their possible end. 5/5
I usually don't mind 1000 pages long Stephen King novel but I was really struggeling with the last 100 pages. But it worth it and He is very excellent to write about ordinary people and how easy to manipulate them.
Another great birthday gift❣️
I enjoyed the TV show and loved the book! My Amazon Book Wishlist has sooo many King books!
I love the jacket art.
I‘m happy to add this book to my collection & can‘t wait to re-re-re-read it. 🎉
The premise and the plot, and scene setting, are great, but then it gets a bit waylaid and the ending is a bit weak. Also, he seems to have an odd way of writing about women and non-white people.
My 21st King read 👍🏼
Just finished this game.
Yes, Your Grace.
Was really enjoyable and fast paced, acting as a king with a kingdom in turmoil.
Been a bit absent for the last 6 months or so due to being pregnant and having a small gang of wildlings to look after!
8 months pregnant and hoping to start being more present and posting again!
Here‘s our little gang and me at a ninja obstacle course last weekend! @TheNeverendingTBR 🖤
Why is this book over 1000 pages?? Guess I'll be here a while
Just started reading and wow, so much stuff happening already, I'm so excited 😂💚
Welcome to the #LosersClub open discussion for #underthedome Please be mindful of spoilers. We have new readers to King who haven‘t read all of his books. When referencing his other work, please keep this in mind for our new-to-King friends. Don‘t forget to tag each other in the comments so your friends can see your reply. Have fun!

Done and ready for #losersclub
Honestly, for 1000+ pages and 100 characters it‘s easy to follow and straight forward plot wise. I watched the show for a bit when it was on, but never got to the resolution (no idea if it follows the book). It‘s quite a whirlwind!
Forecast for today was clear and dry. Here in southern Illinois we seldom get snow this early. Think they dropped the ball this time! I‘m going to spend today in front of a fire catching up on Under the Dome, which is a chunkster but moves quickly!

Trying to make it before #LosersClub
There‘s so many people in this book. Every person in the town gets a backstory.
Here is the cover for my tagged book -
Starting it late for #LosersClub @BarkingMadRun - have read it before but don't remember much, I did enjoy it though, so hoping it is as good as I remember and I can get into it - it is a chunkster!
Make a great day everyone🎃
🎧📚 I loved this TV show!
The book was a great story & now I want to watch the series again!
An invisible dome comes down on a rural farm town. And typical of King, here comes the most horrible human beings possible!
Great mystery & fun to watch how quickly a town falls apart & the insane take over. So many characters! A bit science-y for King.
Some gruesome bits which make it a good fall read. There are some triggers so beware.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️3/4
Y‘all, I never realized how big this #chunkster was, it was the first book I ever bought with my Nook! Don‘t drop this on your foot! Tag me in your copy, I‘m. It sure how many different covers there are! #losersclub #stephenkinginorder #youcouldkillyourneighborwiththisbook #oryourspousewhentheysayyouhavetoomanybooks #illbailyouout #loserssticktogether
Hey #losersclub it‘s time to order those books for our next #buddyread on October 19th we start Under the Dome, and discussion will begin on November 18th. This is a #chunkster so prepare yourself! #StephenKing #StephenKingInOrder #KingFromTheBeginning #ConstantReader #ReadAlong #BuddyRead #BookDiscussion
Damn, SK… don‘t let up AT ALL on the tension and misery. 😬
I feel like 17 hours of my last four days have been spent in the dome with this poor, abused cast of characters. Just when I thought the situation for the inhabitants of Chester‘s Mill couldn‘t get any more dire, King thought of something worse.
Great writing, some really excellent characters, a story that I could not quit… all the things I‘ve come to expect from this guy.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I think reading about a town suddenly stuck under a mysterious dome was just a little too claustrophobic and 2020 for me because I did not enjoy this one very much. I do appreciate how much research King puts into the details of his books though.
Finishing this was my #20in4 goal. Glad I got it done!
Campus bookshelf isn‘t quite as glorious as the two at home, but my shrine has quite the set up here.
Been reading under the dome while smoking and can say that it makes a way better experience
#alphabetgame #letterU @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
We‘re getting to the end of the alphabet! Went with a Stephen King classic for this one!
“‘The workman is worthy of his hire,‘” Big Jim said in a pedantic but kindly tone. “Matthew ten-ten.” He neglected to cite the previous verse: Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses.
Spent some time at the local church book sale this morning 😁
I browsed, drank coffee and just generally enjoyed a good hour of my day for the first time in a long time.
Good thing I only brought one bag with me....there were SOOO many books!
Not pictured: the pile of children's books the boy already took off with 🤣
#BookHaul #MeTime
I loved it up until the ending. The ending was disappointing to me. It felt rushed and half baked, like he just got tired of writing and said, “Oh, screw it.” Will I keep reading his books? Absolutely. I wouldn‘t put up with this from any other author, but Stephen King is the exception. I‘ve been reading his books since I was eleven years old, and I doubt I‘ll stop now.
