💖 I always prefer books. But if you wanna throw a little candy or pretty flowers in there, I won‘t complain 😁
💖 I loved the tagged book…
How to describe? A epistolary picture book? Or, as my 7 year old called it "The Jolly Postman for grown-ups." It would be a mistake, however, to think it a mere novelty - yes, it's lots of fun to remove & read the 'real' letters, but I was also sucked into the intriguing relationship developing between the two characters. That they've never met or spoken & all communication is via the written word is also a tantalising prospect. Good cliffhanger!
A little World Book Day gift to myself! My daughter chose one for herself as well and I chose one for her because choosing books for her is even more fun than choosing them for myself!
She was also very intrigued to discover that this book is a quote Jolly Postman for grown-ups unquote!
Lovely, lovely book that I will be reviewing for Postcrossing.
It's very very short, but there's so much visual stuff going on with the postcards and letters that it doesn't matter. Sabine has been seeing Griffin's art in her dreams for a long time, and she finally gets in contact with him via postcard... The book includes envelopes with letters you have to take out and read, as you see in my photo! Most of it is postcards, though.
After helping my dad move last week, I‘ve unearthed my old “Griffin & Sabine” collection. I was going to get rid of them, but now I‘m having second thoughts!
What a neat concept to be able to pull the letters out.
Look at those cool end papers!
Book 134 of 2019
@Come-read-with-me recommended this to me and I LOVED it!! Sabine sends a postcard to Griffin even though they had never met and they continue to write each other. The book is fill of their cool envelopes, artwork and actual letters that come out!
We're so close to reaching that famous happy end almost believing this one's not pretend
Let's go on dreaming for we know we are
So close, #SoClose and still so far

So many songs I love! I also loved these books and wish I still had them....#wishyouwerehere #marchintothe70s
This was my second time reading this book. The first time was several years ago. Interesting epistolary novel, quick and relatively short read. Book set up as postcards and actual letters that are removed from envelopes adhered to the page. Will probably read the rest of the series.
Story was original but kind of just ended. Apparently this is book 1 of 3. Super short; about 20 pages so a fast read. Did enjoy the illustrations and letters included so for the artwork it‘s a pick.

Going to take a little detour to read this charming little book. I seen this on an Owlcrate book vlog and I fell in love with the type of book this is. If you have looked into this collection of books you gots ta! I only have the first book but I‘m definitely going to need to buy the set 💗💗💗 book number 49 real quick!
1️⃣ Honestly, I've been thinking about this since last night, and can't think of a single one. I don't read romance outside of fanfic. Griffin and Sabine, possibly?
2️⃣ Sabine and Griffin, I guess.
3️⃣ Iris versicolor
4️⃣ CHOCOLATE!!!!
5️⃣ I'd rather not, but red if I must.

Here is so far my favorite book I've read in 2018 ;)

Thanks @Liberty for your very generous giveaway.
I absolutely loved opening the little envelopes to discover this letter exchange. It's a very creative book, and I really liked the end twist.
I wasn't sure if I had any books by #indiepresses but after poking through my shelves I realized that the Griffin & Sabine trilogy is from Chronicle Books, an independent publisher in San Francisco. I love these weird books and their weird art. Anyone else familiar with these?
Was reminded how much I loved this book upon seeing this quote in Fine Books magazine.
Old fashioned but so appropriate at this time of instant rewards. Can't wait to start writing. Oh. I forgot to mention my looooove for hockey... Canadian here it's in our blood. 🙂 @steverogers #litsypenpals
I love my dog so much! Plus the book is great too.
Finally got my #cupidgoespostal packages. One of the downsides of living abroad on a military base is the unpredictability of mail. But it made it intact, @ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled
Nick Bantock's books are a goldmine for gorgeous #endpapers. Also pictured are Anne Fadiman's Ex Libris (the one with the books) and Katherine Catmull's Summer & Bird (the one with the birds!). #readjanuary
The BEST example of #readjanuary #epistolary @RealLifeReading I so adore these books.
Oh how I love this series! If you have not read it, go now! The little letters and postcards. Swoon! #epistolary #readjanuary @RealLifeReading (not my picture but I own the whole series at home!)
My mother was gifted the Griffin and Sabine books in the early 90's. I still remember how much I appreciated the beauty and artistry of these works when I read them. I loved being able to physically handle the letters, it really helped to immerse me into the story.

I could take pictures of these beautiful books all day long. A sample of one of the letters written by Sabine.

The ultimate epistolary series for me is Nick Bantock's Griffin and Sabine trilogy. Told in postcards and letters, it's an interactive reading experience. I borrowed copies from a friend when I was a teen and I knew I had to get my own set. I still remember buying the boxed set in Barnes & Noble in LA back in 2002.

#ReadJanuary #epistolary This was one of the first epistolary books I remember reading, and it's an extraordinary example! I highly recommend it.
I'm of the opinion that any book is a coffee table book, especially when bookcase space is at a premium! Here's a dose of Nick Bantock for today's #FunFridayPhoto. (And Mark Helprin's Swan Lake trilogy thrown in for good measure.) This is more of a side table, but it counts, right? #CoffeeTableBooks
I remember being so fascinated with these books when my parents first got them. When my mom passed and my dad moved, I brought these books home with me because I couldn't bring myself to put them in the donate pile. I had forgotten about them until I saw today's challenge, and now I can't wait to read them again! #booksandstationery #epistolary #augustphotochallenge
What a cool image! (Entitled "Drinking Like a Fish") Liking this book already. Thanks @JaimitaPR
I loved the quirkiness of this trilogy. I just wish it left me with closure.
Love this little book! Epistolary. I loved opening the letters between characters. It's a super short, interactive read and first in a trilogy. Update: I'm seeing 2 trilogies + Pharos Gate.
Time for a reread. It's been ages but I wanted to reread before the new one is released. Still adore this. So unique.
