My first read for February. I am really enjoying it!
Day 4 being under State of Emergency in St. John‘s, NL 🇨🇦. Starting to get cabin fever 🤪 Guess I‘ll start another book!
Surviving #snowmageddon2020 here in St. John‘s, NL 🇨🇦. The city is still under a state of emergency. I can‘t leave the house but at least I‘m getting a lot of reading done.
Getting into the Christmas spirit.
I found a cute #littlefreelibrary on a walk around my neighbourhood this evening. I have a feeling I‘ll be stopping by often 😀
It‘s 7:20am NST (5:50am EST). Usually I sleep in on the weekend but need to get going on the #24in48 readathon. Pictured are my potential reads this weekend. Trying to knock off some #readharder challenges at the same time. Happy reading!
It came down to the wire but I was able to complete both the #readharder challenge and the #Litsyatoz challenge this year. Trying to decide what challenge(s) to do in 2019. 🤔📚
Why do library holds always become available when I‘m trying to complete some challenges? 🤦🏼♀️

I‘ve been having an absolutely terrible week, but when this package from @Book_in_hands arrived it put a smile on my face. I love them all and look forward to using them. 😃
#SummerBookmarkSwap
@Book_in_hands your package is going in the mail tomorrow! 📩📚😃

When I moved across the country I didn‘t take any books from my early childhood (hopefully some are still boxed up at dad‘s house), so George‘s Marvelous Medicine is the oldest childhood book in my possession. I got it for my 10th birthday - August 1987. I still love this story.

It‘s 11:23am here in St. John‘s, Newfoundland and the temperature is already 26C. A beautiful day to read outside on the deck! ☀️🌵

I strayed from my #13Books13Weeks TBR stack to read a couple of library holds that came in. Back to the original stack for book seven.
Starting book three of #13books13weeks.
I am still not sure how I feel about Stanley Park. It would be a pick for me overall as many things drew me in (especially how the story followed Jeremy through his highs and lows), but some of the Stanley Park elements still have me confused.
I really appreciated this coming-of-age story of love and loss. Heartbreaking and emotional, it will stick with you.
Book one of #13Books13Weeks
Signed up for the July #24in48 Readathon! This will be my third try, hoping to successfully complete 24 hours for the first time. Who else is planning to participate?
My pile for #13Books13Weeks.
I have two library books in the stack but the rest have been on my bookshelves WAY TOO LONG! I‘m looking forward to this challenge - it should be fun!
I do not read science fiction AT ALL. I chose this book to complete “A sci fi novel with a female protagonist by a female author.” for the #readharder challenge.
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this novel. The characters were interesting and the story really drew me in. I look forward to reading the sequel.
1. I‘m not currently doing any buddy or group reads. I‘m working on completing the #readharder challenge and I‘m not reading frequently enough to add in another title that doesn‘t fit the challenge.
2. I‘ve never had the desire to change my name, although as a kid it pissed me off that I could never find any personalized items with the name Charlene. 😠
3. Loving “In My Blood” by Shawn Mendes.
#trivialthursday @GarthRanzz
I loved this book! The story works so well written in verse, and I found myself immediately drawn to the characters and the conflict. This is not the type of book I would usually read, but I saw so many positive reviews on Litsy that I gave it a go. I‘m so glad I did 😃
☑️ Wine, beer, and something harder - depends on my mood or the occasion.
☑️ Proper bookmark
☑️ Bake
☑️ Candy
☑️ Nope (just being honest!)

I had a hard time rating this one. I am not a comic book fan, but I chose this to fulfill one of the #readharder challenges. I love the illustrations, they are colourful and rich in detail. I struggled with the story. This was my first exposure to the Black Panther, and I found the narrative hard to follow without knowing the backstory. That is why I gave it a so-so rating.
My English class read Lord of the Flies in grade 11. I HATED it! The book was so over analyzed in class that any enjoyment I may have taken from reading it withered away. Giving it another go for the Read Harder Challenge.

1. The Princess Bride, The Shawshank Redemption
2. Stand By Me, Pretty Woman, The Breakfast Club, Hacksaw Ridge
3. Sleepaway Camp, The Cutting Edge
4. Popcorn

I gave it my best shot but I‘m tapping out. I‘m exhausted and struggling to keep my eyes open. I only completed 12 hours in the first #24in48 readathon I attempted, so I‘m really proud of how I did this time around. Congrats in advance to everyone who completes 24 hours - you are awesome!
I really enjoyed She‘s Come Undone so when this title came out in trade paperback I bought it. That was probably 18-19 years ago? It has sat on my shelves unread ever since.

One of my favourite book-to-screen adaptations.
#24in48
Starting to power down for the night, but I‘ll try to keep going for a little while longer before calling it a day.
#24in48
So far so good! I‘ve finished The Phantom Tollbooth and Persepolis. Now onto Elizabeth Is Missing.

When I moved across the country a few years ago I had to get rid of so much, leaving me with very few items from my childhood. I held onto this book though - I must have read it at least a dozen times as a pre-teen, and having the inscription from my mom means so much as we lost her almost a decade ago. I owe my love of reading to her, and she loved to gift us books “just because”. 📚❤️
#24in48 oldest children‘s book I own - 30 years
I woke up early (for me). It‘s 6:22am EST (7:52 local NST) and I‘m getting started on the #24in48 readathon. I‘m combining this challenge with the #ReadHarder challenge hoping it will provide extra motivation to complete 24 hours this time around. Good luck and happy reading to all readathoners!
I just finished my third book of the weekend, but I will not be able to come close to completing my 24 hours. I've got things to get done this evening, and I doubt I'll get more than another hour of reading in before bed.
I've been in a reading slump for months and I've found this challenge really helped me push through it. It was fun to try and I'll definitely sign up for the next one. Good luck to all still pushing for 24 hours!

Being born in 1977, I'm a Gen Xer right on the cusp of Gen Y. This book brought back so much nostalgia for me from both generations. I liked the back and forth narrative between the two authors and how they were able to weave their opinions and experiences together.
#24in48 #readathon
I woke up a few minutes ago, ready to get started on the #24in48 readathon. I took a quick #shelfie and I look a bit crazed (lol) but I'm sticking with it because I have not mastered the art of the selfie. I couldn't get our full wall of bookshelves into the shot as they are 13 feet wide and 7 feet tall (built out of oak by my husband). We still have at least 200 more books that won't fit on these shelves 😂Happy reading!
Finished 13 Ways a couple of days ago, now onto something a bit lighter...
Signed up for #litsypenpals today. Hoping to push myself out of my comfort zone and make a new connection. This should be fun!
