Humble Bundle has a Kobo ebooks bundle of most of the October Daye
and InCryptid series! For those of you who don't have Kobo (like me) you can download them to Adobe Digital Editions, which will turn them into EPUBs.
Supposedly you can then put them on your Kindle, but I haven't gotten that far yet.

This popped up on a number of Recommended lists for urban fantasy. Interesting concept. I am always amazed by the creativity people have to come up with these kinds of stories. If you are in to urban fantasy, I think you will like this. I'm on the library waitlist for the next book in the series.
I love McGuire‘s Wayward Children series and have had my eye on this Hugo-nominated urban fantasy series for a bit. Even though most reviews say it doesn‘t get great until a few books in, I enjoyed this as is! Might be the fae fiefdoms being set in my native SF Bay Area, but I thought the world set-up totally fantastic & intriguing. Toby is complicated and situations can get dark. I look forward to tearing through the series now that I am hooked!
The choices for “books featuring a feline” on my library home page made me laugh today! I guess feline shifters count… 🤔😂
I finished several more short stories about Tybalt, King of Cats, from the October Daye series. I've now completed 15 of the 17 published ones featuring Tybalt and I'm ready to return to the main series. It's astounding how prolific Seanan McGuire (a.k.a. Mira Grant) is!
Currently at 9 hours and 20 minutes for the #20in4 readathon.

I finally have started this much loved urban fantasy series. I enjoyed our main character, she is a down on her luck changling detective who has incredibly bad luck. Though a little slow, I have heard the series gets really great so I am intrigued to continue. 3.5⭐️

Another series by the awesome Seanan McGuire that doesn't let down. Quite different than Wayward Children series which I love but still a great read: a blend of mystery and fantasy, non-stop action that doesn't let down, great world and character building. A pick!
@PuddleJumper: this is January #49 #Roll100 pick on my list.
@TheAromaOfBooks: I was able to advance in the #PromptMaze with this read.
Thank you both for awesome challenges!
When you're trying to add a book to your wish list but somehow ended up buying it??? Oh well. I have seriously been meaning to read it; guess the universe has spoken!

I can't remember the last time a book has left me this cold. McGuire is a prolific and popular author, and this particular book has been purported as an excellent place to begin with her. This book was flipping awful.
This is a re-read for me, but this time I plan to continue the series. I liked it just as well this second time.
It is away! I will send you a tracking number shortly! #lmpbc #groupp I clearly needed help wrapping the book up and my assistant monitored my work closely.
Impressive world building and characters. If you are not versed in fairy lore, then you will want to be by the end of this book! #lmpbc #groupp #bookjournal
@Littlewolf1 this one is headed your way! Hope you enjoy it - I am definitely hooked on the series!

I binged this whole series so hard. I highly recommend it if you are into UF and looking for something to sooth your Kate Daniels or Harry Dresden withdrawl.
Audiospinning. A friend took all my fiber samples from Phat Fiber boxes and made them into gorgeous batts for me, but now I have to finish spinning what I had on the bobbin. #spinnersoflitsy
I don't know why it's taken so long to read this. I love her other series.
Although I didn't find the writing as strong as some of McGuire's newer books, it was still a great start to an urban fantasy series. I loved all the creatures she introduced and I hope we see more off them.
October Daye grew on me as the story developed, and I will definitely read more in the series.
Loved this one! It was my first McGuire, so I guess I have a new author to add to my TBR. Have already started No 2 in the series, actually🥴
So why did I love it? Well...I liked the MC, who is kick ass, but also fallible. The book is set in a fae setting and I love fae elements in my books, really liked McGuire‘s version too! And I thought the storyline was good. Strong and complex, but not too much so.
What a fun world created by author seaman McGuire. A beautifully tragic blending of Fae and Humans.
This book has a great way of melding heavy Fantasy into an urban setting. October (aka "Toby") is a brilliant character who gets into all kinds of trouble.
You'll laugh, you'll cringe, and you'll keep reading to see how she'll get out of the mess she made this time.
“We have to burn brightly, we can‘t burn forever.”
This was the perfect book to get me through a few nights of jet lag. Honestly, what‘s not to love about a murder mystery set in the world of Faerie? Toby Daye, a changling who doesn‘t quite fit in either the human or Faerie world, falls under a curse & will die if she doesn‘t solve the murder of Countess Evening Winterrose. The mystery wasn‘t hard to solve but Toby is an engaging character & I enjoyed the story. I‘ll definitely read more.
Oh how I love jet lag! Ok, not really but the upside is I do get a little more reading time. 🤪 Don‘t want to wake my roommate—that would just be mean—so it‘s reading on my phone for now. This is my 2:00am—or whatever time it is now—read.
Got the swing bought and assembled in time for actual warm weather with a good breeze. And someone decided to come keep me company.

1. Arnold, MO (just south of St Louis)
2. Sci-fi/fantasy, YA, thriller, historical fiction, nonfiction, memoir, poetry
...it's really easier to list what ISN'T a favorite genre
3. Seanan McGuire, Taylor Jenkins Reid, there are about a million others
4. Rosemary and Rue. Lately I have been also frequently recommending Where the Crawdads Sing and No Exit

I love this author, and this series has great potential, but this one just didn‘t grab me the way her books normally do. It was non-stop action, but the story development was slow at the same time. I will check out the next one though, to see if it gets better. This was my book from the blacklist of a favorite author for #MMDchallenge
The first and second book aren't bad, but some issues, especially with the second book, make me unsure if I'll go on reading this series.
I enjoyed this book in the October Daye urban fantasy series. The world was interesting and The characters were interesting and complicated. I will definitely continue the series.
One of my very fave series...I‘ve read all but the last one as I‘m waiting for it to come out in paperback! #emojimadness @Tiffy_Reads @JoeStalksBeck
Has anyone read this? I know the Wayward Children series is popular right now but I wanted to try some older ones first.

Didn‘t make it this time around, but I did better than I did during my first #24in48. One of these days I‘ll make it. I still had an awesome time!
Starting off @24in48 a bit late, but no better way to start than by reading Seanan McGuire‘s Rosemary and Rue. Here‘s my copy, a birthday present from my sister, which I then got signed at ChessieCon in 2015. Happy reading! #24in48 #rosemaryandrue #octoberdaye
Excellent book. The characters are interesting and likeable; the plot is enhancing and exciting. This book was recommended to me by some friends and did not disappoint.
Settling in with my girls and a book before bed. #catsoflitsy #Chloe #Edie @MinDea (Chloe already ran off for a new adventure!)
Caught this figure after ticking off Rosemary and Rue. Nice.
My current re-read! I love this series (it has the best world-building ever), but it's been a couple of years and I totally don't remember enough details to get the most out of the recent installments, so it's time to brush up on the Toby Daye universe. This one is noticeably weaker than later books, but I do remember that the quality dramatically improves around An Artificial Night, so I'm really looking forward to the rest of this re-read.
I made my #goodreads #goal early this year... which is pretty great since I struggled to make it to my goal of 25 books last year. #progress. I've really enjoyed spending more time #reading this year. I think instead of setting a higher goal though, I'm going to do some #rereading.
Litsy wouldn't let me upload the edited and color corrected version of this pick but this is what I'm reading instead of burning through Jonah's Gourd Vine 😬 and honestly this is so much better #bookriotinsiders #bribookclub #studentflife
I'm so talented. I got the hiccups while meditating. Reading this now in hopes that it will distract me enough for the hiccups to go away so I can sleep. 🙄
