Great book and truly frightening. It‘s not frightening so much because of Andy and Charlie‘s abilities but because of the twisted government that created them and wants to use them for their own use.

A collection of short stories that I‘ve read before in others books. 🙄😂

CogsOfEncouragement I‘m sorry. That is a bummer. I appreciate the heads up to look at descriptions of Christie carefully to not fall into this same trap. What a disappointment. 3y

A bizarre and heavy book. The story is told by different members of the Bundren family plus a few of their neighbors and each personality vastly different from the other. It took some reading between the lines and deeper thought to understand what was going on most of the time but by the end it came together.

Elizabeth (Sisi) is 15 years old when she marries into the Habsburg family and becomes Empress of Austria. She immediately gains the favor of the people but life at court is very difficult for a wild and independent girl. This is one of the best books I‘ve read in a while, I was completely engrossed in it. 👍🏻

This was pure book candy, especially for those who love the Lost Generation era. What sold me was the blurb “If you‘re a fan of Midnight in Paris or Hemingway‘s A Moveable Feast you‘ll eat up this story”. So very true.

I once heard someone say that Hemingway shines in his short stories. I have found this to be true. My favorites of the bunch: Indian Camp, The End of Something, A Clean, Well-Lighted Place, and The Snows of Kilimanjaro.

SamAnne I so agree. He is at his best in his short stories. I hate to say it but his novels often remind me of Bad Hemingway writing contest. 4y

Hotchner‘s memoir of his friendship with Papa for the last 13 years of Hemingway‘s life leading up to his suicide. A great account and look into one of the most controversial, mysterious, and prolific writers of the twentieth century.

I don‘t really know what to say about this. 😂 I don‘t think it would ever be fair to compare anything else she writes to Harry Potter, but this was certainly different. A long drawn out fairy tale about a creature that haunts a country and then greedy evil men use the fear of the people to take over.

GingerAntics So a story that turned out to be about modern America. 4y

I liked the way it ended and the storyline coming full circle from book 1. However, I felt like there were character inconsistencies from the previous books. Audrey Rose grated on me and as much as she rolled her eyes at Thomas I was rolling my eyes at her. Thomas seemed to turn into a lovesick simpering fool. I don‘t know maybe I wanted more of the murder plot and less romance. 🤷🏻‍♀️
