A blast of frigid air greeted me as I unlatched the carriage door and stumbled onto the street, my attention stuck on the raised axe. Watery sunlight dribbled off its edge like fresh blood, tricking me into recalling recent events.

Finally finished this one, and with it, the series! It was incredible! The last two books were absolutely phenomenal!
Chaplin and I are ready to start the last book in this series! So far, my favorite has been the third book so I'm interested to see if I still love it as much after I finish this one! 📚💕 #catsoflitsy #chaplin
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5/5)
“Capturing the Devil” was a bit of a whirlwind, and I definitely didn‘t see some of the plot twists coming. This book follows its predecessors in horrifying murders and suspense, and I found the plot line, character arcs, and conclusion to be interesting and satisfying. I will miss this series and its characters!
In this shocking finale to the bestselling series that began with Stalking Jack the Ripper, Audrey Rose and Thomas are on the hunt for the depraved, elusive killer known as the White City Devil.

Audrey Rose and Thomas have made it to America and are on the hunt to capture a serial killer unlike any other. Will they be able to identify him?…let‘s find out!

I am so disappointed in this. This series was so good but this book was so focused on the love story it took away from what was great about the other 3. There was just not the same balance.
Finally finished the series with this last book.
Now I feel like I need some coffee and a serial killer to have an eye on during the nights.
Some light Christmas reading while I‘m quarantined with COVID 😷update: love this entire series. I already want to reread them all ❤️
Seamlessly following the events from Escaping from Houdini, Audrey and Thomas have to find out how Ripper-like murders can happen in New York.
Add lots of personal drama and escaping to - as you can see on the cover - Chicago during the World Fair, you might have an idea which Devil in the White City the duo has to capture.
It was veeeeeerrrrryyyy predictable, but still a good ending to the series.
The end of the series has arrived (although I'm a bit late to the reading party!). I was satisfied with the way this wrapped up. It is Audrey Rose and Thomas' most deadly case yet. Women are coming up missing at an alarming rate, but as there are no bodies they are unable to get the police to believe them.
At the same time, Thomas' father's played his hand. Will they both come out alive? Will they remain together if they do?

Love this series and finally getting around to 4th and last book. Don't want it to end. Haven't read her other series but plan on giving it a try.
I really loved how this final book tied all the previous adventures into the plot, and I really loved how it had strong links to the first book, it truly felt like a special ending that wrapped things up so nicely. Of course the romance was perfect and I swooned my way through the book. I liked the pacing, this one was more focused on the romance but still had the mystery woven. Overall such a spectacular series, I'm sad to finish it!
"The rudeness of some men is eclipsed only by their arrogance." Grandmama Everleigh, Pg.215
Just finished the series! Oh my god why couldn't Grandmama Everleigh be introduced sooner!
I thought this was a satisfying conclusion to the Stalking the Ripper series and enjoyed it much more than third book. It was pleasing to see Audrey Rose and Thomas get their HEA. I do think it could have been a bit shorter. I didn‘t need the relationship drama created by Thomas‘ father. Although how that was wrapped up was amusing. I think they should have been in Chicago sooner as well. #CompletedSeries #BookspinBingo
I haven‘t been on for a while but I‘ve been reading. Loved this book and am so sad to have reached the end of the series. I‘m going to miss Audrey Rose and Thomas ☹️
Capturing The Devil is at Dollar Tree!! And Alan Bradley!! 😱 Im not sure if i need this Flavia book but for $1 i didnt want to pass it up in case i do need it!
3 ⭐️
The first 60-70% of this book really suffered from the unnecessary love/wedding drama. The mystery was good but predictable and the ending felt a little rushed. I would have liked to see more of the World‘s Fair and less of the dumb love drama.
A solid conclusion to a great series. It definitely gave me some food for thought where it comes to H.H. Holmes and Jack the Ripper. I am really going to miss these characters.

Decided I put of finishing this series for to long. Time to just face the music and follow Audrey Rose & Thomas on one last adventure. I don't want it to end though!!
I know some people are not as thrilled with the final installment as the other books, but I enjoyed the final story of Wadsworth and Cresswell as they end their hauntings of Jack the Ripper.
5/5 I absolutely loved this series and I wasn‘t disappointed with how the series was ended. I feel like books that are at the end of a series are hard to review without spoiling things for people so I‘ll just say it‘s definitely worth a read!
I thought I was in the mood for this but I'm not sure if I'm feeling it today. What should I read next? I've just come off a fun James Rollins.
The final installment in the series! What a great ending! I love that Audrey Rose solves the problem on her own and didn‘t have to be rescued by Thomas. A good ending, tying up all the loose ends (and some you didn‘t know were loose) of the series. My first finish for #alternate24in48
I really enjoy collecting alternative dust jackets for my favorite books. But now I have no idea what to do with these. What does everyone do with their original dust jackets? Or am I the only one that gets different ones?
Not my favorite of the series, perhaps because I had lost the momentum of the story. The first half was still delightful but I felt that the second half was rushed. That being said, I love these characters.
This story was an amazing series ender that didn‘t go silently into the night. There were many twists & turns that took place & on more than one occasion my heart was torn apart. The emotional evocation that was brought about left me feeling wrung out, but only in the best of ways! The depth of character development throughout this series for both Audrey and Thomas was truly illustrated in this story & many hard choices were made by both of them.
So here‘s my TBR list for #wintergames, it‘s a little ambitious, but I just had so many books to read.😁📚🎄

These are my November reads in the order in which I liked them. Yes I read Capturing the Devil again! 😂 I'm pretty sure Stalking Jack the Ripper is my all time favorite series for 2019. So sorry TOG fans it was so close.

Fantastic conclusion to a wonderful series. Heavier on the romance and physical relationship than previous books, but I loved that aspect. Audrey Rose and Thomas Cresswell are one of my favorite literary couples.

The Shining was a re-read but it's still my favorite read this month. 🖤 Although I finished up the Stalking Jack the Ripper Series and it was amazing. Made some really great points about how society (even today) treats women that have a passion for something that doesn't seem feminine. It was a bit more romance than I'd like but it wasn't the typical toxic romance. It was quite sweet and honorable. Most all of my October were rereads 😂 😂
This was a great conclusion to the Stalking Jack the Ripper series. I've really enjoyed the tension between Audrey Rose and Thomas over the series. They have both been very entertaining. In this one they are searching for a killer in Chicago during the World Fair 🎡

I think I was more excited for this book than any other in the series! Sure, there were quite a few historical inaccuracies but there were also so many interesting facts added in that you wouldn't know about unless you're well versed in this case so big props to the author for that!
I do feel like the climax was a bit rushed. I would have liked to have seen more conflict there but other than that, I feel this is a great ending to the series.
I'm determined to finish this before I go to bed tonight!
I haven't hit 24hr yet, but I'm damn close.
